7:1  But the children of Israel transgressed the commandment, and took to their own use of that which was accursed. For Achan, the son of Charmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zare, of the tribe of Juda, took something of the anathema: and the Lord was angry against the children of Israel.

7:1  Izraelci se při provádění klatby dopustili zpronevěry. Akán, syn Karmího, syna Zabdího, syna Zerachova z pokolení Judova, vzal něco z věcí propadlých klatbě. Proto vzplanul Hospodin proti Izraelcům hněvem.

7:1  Synové Izraele se ale provinili porušením klatby. Achan, syn Karmiho, syna Zimriho, syna Zerachova z pokolení Juda, vzal něco z věcí propadlých klatbě, a Hospodin vzplanul proti synům Izraele hněvem.

7:1  Synové Izraele se však zpronevěřili věrolomností při klatbě. Akán, syn Karmího, syna Zabdího, syna Zeracha z pokolení Judova, vzal z toho, co bylo zasvěceno zkáze, a Hospodinův hněv vzplanul proti synům Izraele.

7:2  And when Joshua sent men from Jericho against Hai, which is beside Bethaven, on the east side of the town of Bethel, he said to them: Go up, and view the country: and they fulfilled his command, and viewed Hai.

7:2  And Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Beth–aven, on the east side of Beth–el, and spake unto them, saying, Go up and view the country. And the men went up and viewed Ai.

7:2  Jozue vyslal muže z Jericha do Aje, který byl u Bét-ávenu, na východ od Bét-elu, a řekl jim: „Jděte do té země na výzvědy!“ Muži tedy šli na výzvědy do Aje.

7:2  Jozue totiž z Jericha vyslal muže do místa zvaného Aj (jež leží u Bet-avenu východně od Bet-elu) a řekl jim, ať jdou prozkoumat tu zem. Muži tedy šli a prozkoumali Aj.

7:2  Jozue poslal muže z Jericha do Aje, který leží u Bét–ávenu na východ od Bét–elu, a řekl jim: Vystupte a prozkoumejte tu zemi. Ti muži vystoupili a prozkoumali Aj.

7:3  And returning, they said to him: Let not all the people go up, but let two or three thousand men go, and destroy the city: why should all the people be troubled in vain, against enemies that are very few?

7:3  And they returned to Joshua, and said unto him, Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai; and make not all the people to labour thither; for they are but few.

7:3  Když se vrátili k Jozuovi, hlásili mu: „Není třeba, aby táhl všechen lid. Ať vytáhnou jen dva nebo tři tisíce mužů a přepadnou Aj. Nezatěžuj tím všechen lid, vždyť jich je málo.“

7:3  Když se vrátili k Jozuovi, řekli mu: „Není potřeba, aby se tam vypravoval všechen lid. Stačí, když vytáhnou dva nebo tři tisíce mužů a obyvatele Aj pobijí. Nezatěžuj všechen lid, vždyť je jich tam málo.“

7:3  Kteřížto navrátivše se k Jozue, řekli jemu: Nechť nevstupuje všecken lid tento, okolo dvou tisíc mužů neb okolo tří tisíců mužů nechť vstoupí, a dobudouť Hai; neobtěžuj všeho lidu, vysílaje jej tam, nebo málo jest oněchno.

7:3  And they returned to Joshua, and said to him, Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai; [and] make not all the people to labor thither; for they [are but] few.

7:3  They returned to Joshua, and said to him, "Do not let all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and strike Ai. Do not make all the people to toil there, for there are only a few of them."

7:4  There went up therefore three thousand fighting men: who immediately turned their backs,

7:6  But Joshua rent his garments, and fell flat on the ground, before the ark of the Lord, until the evening, both he and all the ancients of Israel: and they put dust upon their heads.

7:6  Josue vero scidit vestimenta sua, et pronus cecidit in terram coram arca Domini usque ad vesperam, tam ipse quam omnes senes Israël : miseruntque pulverem super capita sua,

7:7  And Joshua said: Alas, O Lord God, why wouldst thou bring this people over the river Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorrhite, and to destroy us? would God we had stayed beyond the Jordan, as we began.

7:7  And Joshua said, Alas, O Lord God, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? would to God we had been content, and dwelt on the other side Jordan!

7:7  Jozue lkal: „Ach, Panovníku Hospodine, proč jsi vlastně převedl tento lid přes Jordán? Chceš nás vydat do rukou Emorejců, aby nás zahubili? Kéž bychom byli raději zůstali na druhé straně Jordánu!

7:7  Ach, Pane můj, Hospodine!“ řekl Jozue, „Proč jsi vůbec převáděl tento lid přes Jordán? Abys nás vydal do rukou Emorejců? Abys nás zahubil? Mohlo nám přece stačit, abychom se usadili za Jordánem!

7:7  A Jozue řekl: ⌈Ach, Panovníku Hospodine,⌉ proč jsi vlastně převedl tento lid přes Jordán? Abys nás vydal do ruky Emorejců k naší záhubě? Kéž bychom se byli odhodlali a zůstali na druhé straně Jordánu.

7:7  I řekl Jozue: Ach, Panovníče Hospodine, proč jsi kdy převedl lid tento přes Jordán, abys nás vydal v ruku Amorejského, tak aby nás zahubil? Ó kdybychom byli raději zůstali za Jordánem.

7:7  And Joshua said, Alas, O Lord GOD, why hast thou at all brought this people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? O that we had been content, and dwelt on the other side of Jordan.

7:7  Joshua said, "Alas, Lord God, why have you brought this people over the Jordan at all, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to cause us to perish? I wish that we had been content and lived beyond the Jordan!

7:7  And Joshua said, Alas, O LORD God, why have you at all brought this people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? would to God we had been content, and dwelled on the other side Jordan!

7:7  et dixit Josue : Heu Domine Deus, quid voluisti traducere populum istum Jordanem fluvium, ut traderes nos in manus Amorrhæi, et perderes ? utinam ut cœpimus, mansissemus trans Jordanem.

7:9  Až to uslyší Kenaanci a ostatní obyvatelé země, obklíčí nás a vyhladí naše jméno ze země. Co pak učiníš pro své veliké jméno?“

7:10  And the Lord said to Joshua: Arise, why liest thou flat on the ground?

7:11  Israel hath sinned, and transgressed my covenant: and they have taken of the anathema, and have stolen and lied, and have hid it among their goods.

7:11  Peccavit Israël, et prævaricatus est pactum meum : tuleruntque de anathemate, et furati sunt atque mentiti, et absconderunt inter vasa sua.

7:12  Neither can Israel stand before his enemies, but he shall flee from them: because he is defiled with the anathema. I will be no more with you, till you destroy him that is guilty of this wickedness.

7:12  Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they were accursed: neither will I be with you any more, except ye destroy the accursed from among you.

7:12  Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, [but] turned [their] backs before their enemies, because they were accursed: neither will I be with you any more, except ye destroy the accursed from among you.

7:12  Therefore the children of Israel can't stand before their enemies. They turn their backs before their enemies, because they have become devoted for destruction. I will not be with you any more, unless you destroy the devoted things from among you.

7:12  Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they were accursed: neither will I be with you any more, except you destroy the accursed from among you.

7:13  Arise, sanctify the people, and say to them: Be ye sanctified against tomorrow: for thus saith the Lord God of Israel: The curse is in the midst of thee, O Israel: thou canst not stand before thy enemies, till he be destroyed out of thee, that is defiled with this wickedness.

7:13  Up, sanctify the people, and say, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow: for thus saith the Lord God of Israel, There is an accursed thing in the midst of thee, O Israel: thou canst not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the accursed thing from among you.

7:13  Rise, sanctify the people, and say, Sanctify yourselves against to-morrow: for thus saith the LORD God of Israel, [There is] an accursed thing in the midst of thee, O Israel: thou canst not stand before thy enemies, until ye take away the accursed thing from among you.

7:13  Get up! Sanctify the people, and say, 'Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, for the Lord, the God of Israel, says, "There is a devoted thing in the midst of you, Israel. You cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the devoted thing from among you."

7:13  Up, sanctify the people, and say, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow: for thus said the LORD God of Israel, There is an accursed thing in the middle of you, O Israel: you can not stand before your enemies, until you take away the accursed thing from among you.

7:13  Surge, sanctifica populum, et dic eis : Sanctificamini in crastinum : hæc enim dicit Dominus Deus Israël : Anathema in medio tui est, Israël : non poteris stare coram hostibus tuis, donec deleatur ex te qui hoc contaminatus est scelere.

7:14  And you shall come in the morning, every one by your tribes: and what tribe soever the lot shall find, it shall come by its kindreds, and the kindred by its houses and tho house by the men.

7:14  In the morning therefore ye shall be brought according to your tribes: and it shall be, that the tribe which the Lord taketh shall come according to the families thereof; and the family which the Lord shall take shall come by households; and the household which the Lord shall take shall come man by man.

7:14  Ráno budete přistupovat po kmenech. Kmen, který Hospodin označí, bude přistupovat po čeledích. Čeleď, kterou Hospodin označí, bude přistupovat po domech. Dům, který Hospodin označí, bude přistupovat po mužích.

7:14  Budete tedy ráno přistupovat podle svých kmenů a zůstane ten kmen, který Hospodin označí. Bude přistupovat po čeledích a ta čeleď, kterou Hospodin označí, bude přistupovat po rodinách a ta rodina, kterou Hospodin označí, bude přistupovat po mužích.

7:14  Protož přistupovati budete ráno po pokoleních svých, a pokolení, kteréž ukáže Hospodin, přistupovati bude po rodech, takž rod, kterýž ukáže Hospodin, přistupovati bude po domích, a dům, kterýž ukáže Hospodin, přistupovati bude po osobách.

7:24  Vzav tedy Jozue a všecken Izrael s ním Achana, syna Záre, a stříbro i plášť, i prut zlatý, i syny jeho, i dcery jeho, voly a osly, dobytek i stan jeho i všecko, což měl, vyvedli je do údolí Achor.
