Chapter 9
Prov DRC 9:1  Wisdom hath built herself a house, she hath hewn her out seven pillars.
Prov VulgClem 9:1  Sapientia ædificavit sibi domum : excidit columnas septem.
Prov KJV 9:1  Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
Prov DRC 9:2  She hath slain her victims, mingled her wine, and set forth her table.
Prov VulgClem 9:2  Immolavit victimas suas, miscuit vinum, et proposuit mensam suam.
Prov KJV 9:2  She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.

Prov KJV 9:3  She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,
Prov DRC 9:4  Whosoever is a little one, let him come to me. And to the unwise she said:
Prov VulgClem 9:4  Si quis est parvulus, veniat ad me. Et insipientibus locuta est :
Prov KJV 9:4  Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
Prov DRC 9:5  Come, eat my bread, and drink the wine which I have mingled for you.
Prov VulgClem 9:5  Venite, comedite panem meum, et bibite vinum quod miscui vobis.
Prov KJV 9:5  Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.
Prov DRC 9:6  Forsake childishness, and live, and walk by the ways of prudence.
Prov VulgClem 9:6  Relinquite infantiam, et vivite, et ambulate per vias prudentiæ.
Prov KJV 9:6  Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
Prov DRC 9:7  He that teacheth a scorner, doth an injury to himself; and he that rebuketh a wicked man, getteth himself a blot.
Prov VulgClem 9:7  Qui erudit derisorem, ipse injuriam sibi facit, et qui arguit impium, sibi maculam generat.
Prov KJV 9:7  He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.
Prov DRC 9:8  Rebuke not a scorner, lest he hate thee. Rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
Prov VulgClem 9:8  Noli arguere derisorem, ne oderit te : argue sapientem, et diliget te.
Prov KJV 9:8  Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
Prov DRC 9:9  Give an occasion to a wise man, and wisdom shall be added to him. Teach a just man, and he shall make haste to receive it.
Prov VulgClem 9:9  Da sapienti occasionem, et addetur ei sapientia ; doce justum, et festinabit accipere.
Prov KJV 9:9  Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
Prov DRC 9:10  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is prudence.

Prov DRC 9:11  For by me shall thy days be multiplied, and years of life shall be added to thee.

Prov KJV 9:12  If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
Prov DRC 9:13  A foolish woman and clamorous, and full of allurements, and knowing nothing at all,
Prov VulgClem 9:13  Mulier stulta et clamosa, plenaque illecebris, et nihil omnino sciens,
Prov KJV 9:13  A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.
Prov DRC 9:14  Sat at the door of her house, upon a seat, in a high place of the city,
Prov VulgClem 9:14  sedit in foribus domus suæ, super sellam in excelso urbis loco,
Prov KJV 9:14  For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
Prov DRC 9:15  To call them that pass by the way, and go on their journey:
Prov VulgClem 9:15  ut vocaret transeuntes per viam, et pergentes itinere suo :
Prov KJV 9:15  To call passengers who go right on their ways:
Prov DRC 9:16  He that is a little one, let him turn to me. And to the fool she said:
Prov VulgClem 9:16  Qui est parvulus declinet ad me. Et vecordi locuta est :
Prov KJV 9:16  Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
Prov DRC 9:17  Stolen waters are sweeter, and hidden bread is more pleasant.
Prov VulgClem 9:17  Aquæ furtivæ dulciores sunt, et panis absconditus suavior.
Prov KJV 9:17  Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.
Prov DRC 9:18  And he did not know that giants are there, and that her guests are in the depths of hell.
Prov VulgClem 9:18  Et ignoravit quod ibi sint gigantes, et in profundis inferni convivæ ejus.
Prov KJV 9:18  But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.
