Chapter 12
Roma DRC 12:1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercy of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing unto God, your reasonable service.
Roma VulgClem 12:1  Obsecro itaque vos fratres per misericordiam Dei, ut exhibeatis corpora vestra hostiam viventem, sanctam, Deo placentem, rationabile obsequium vestrum.
Roma KJV 12:1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Roma DRC 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be reformed in the newness of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and the acceptable and the perfect will of God.
Roma KJV 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Roma DRC 12:3  For I say, by the grace that is given me, to all that are among you, not to be more wise than it behoveth to be wise, but to be wise unto sobriety and according as God hath divided to every one the measure of faith.
Roma KJV 12:3  For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Roma DRC 12:4  For as in one body we have many members, but all the members have not the same office:
Roma VulgClem 12:4  Sicut enim in uno corpore multa membra habemus, omnia autem membra non eumdem actum habent :
Roma KJV 12:4  For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
Roma DRC 12:5  So we, being many, are one body in Christ; and every one members one of another:
Roma VulgClem 12:5  ita multi unum corpus sumus in Christo, singuli autem alter alterius membra.
Roma KJV 12:5  So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
Roma DRC 12:6  And having different gifts, according to the grace that is given us, either prophecy, to be used according to the rule of faith;
Roma VulgClem 12:6  Habentes autem donationes secundum gratiam, quæ data est nobis, differentes : sive prophetiam secundum rationem fidei,
Roma KJV 12:6  Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
Roma DRC 12:7  Or ministry, in ministering; or he that teacheth, in doctrine;
Roma VulgClem 12:7  sive ministerium in ministrando, sive qui docet in doctrina,
Roma KJV 12:7  Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
Roma DRC 12:8  He that exhorteth, in exhorting; he that giveth, with simplicity; he that ruleth, with carefulness; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
Roma VulgClem 12:8  qui exhortatur in exhortando, qui tribuit in simplicitate, qui præest in sollicitudine, qui miseretur in hilaritate.
Roma KJV 12:8  Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
Roma DRC 12:9  Let love be without dissimulation. Hating that which is evil, cleaving to that which is good,
Roma VulgClem 12:9  Dilectio sine simulatione : odientes malum, adhærentes bono :
Roma KJV 12:9  Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
Roma DRC 12:10  Loving one another with the charity of brotherhood: with honour preventing one another.
Roma VulgClem 12:10  caritate fraternitatis invicem diligentes : honore invicem prævenientes :
Roma KJV 12:10  Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
Roma DRC 12:11  In carefulness not slothful. In spirit fervent. Serving the Lord.
Roma VulgClem 12:11  sollicitudine non pigri : spiritu ferventes : Domino servientes :
Roma KJV 12:11  Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
Roma DRC 12:12  Rejoicing in hope. Patient in tribulation. Instant in prayer.
Roma VulgClem 12:12  spe gaudentes : in tribulatione patientes : orationi instantes :
Roma KJV 12:12  Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
Roma DRC 12:13  Communicating to the necessities of the saints. Pursuing hospitality.
Roma VulgClem 12:13  necessitatibus sanctorum communicantes : hospitalitatem sectantes.
Roma KJV 12:13  Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
Roma DRC 12:14  Bless them that persecute you: bless, and curse not.
Roma VulgClem 12:14  Benedicite persequentibus vos : benedicite, et nolite maledicere.
Roma KJV 12:14  Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
Roma DRC 12:15  Rejoice with them that rejoice: weep with them that weep.
Roma VulgClem 12:15  Gaudere cum gaudentibus, flere cum flentibus :
Roma KJV 12:15  Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
Roma DRC 12:16  Being of one mind one towards another. Not minding high things, but consenting to the humble. Be not wise in your own conceits.
Roma KJV 12:16  Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
Roma DRC 12:17  To no man rendering evil for evil. Providing good things, not only in the sight of God but also in the sight of all men.
Roma KJV 12:17  Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
Roma DRC 12:18  If it be possible, as much as is in you, have peace with all men.
Roma KJV 12:18  If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Roma DRC 12:19  Revenge not yourselves, my dearly beloved; but give place unto wrath, for it is written: Revenge is mine, I will repay, saith the Lord.
Roma KJV 12:19  Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Roma DRC 12:20  But if the enemy be hungry, give him to eat; if he thirst, give him to drink. For, doing this, thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head.
Roma KJV 12:20  Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
Roma DRC 12:21  Be not overcome by evil: but overcome evil by good.
Roma VulgClem 12:21  Noli vinci a malo, sed vince in bono malum.
Roma KJV 12:21  Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
