Chapter 6
Roma DRC 6:1  What shall we say, then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Roma VulgClem 6:1  Quid ergo dicemus ? permanebimus in peccato ut gratia abundet ?
Roma KJV 6:1  What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Roma DRC 6:2  God forbid! For we that are dead to sin, how shall we live any longer therein?
Roma VulgClem 6:2  Absit.
Roma KJV 6:2  God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Roma DRC 6:3  Know you not that all we who are baptized in Christ Jesus are baptized in his death?
Roma VulgClem 6:3  an ignoratis quia quicumque baptizati sumus in Christo Jesu, in morte ipsius baptizati sumus ?
Roma KJV 6:3  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Roma DRC 6:4  For we are buried together with him by baptism into death: that, as Christ is risen from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also may walk in newness of life.
Roma KJV 6:4  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Roma DRC 6:5  For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.
Roma VulgClem 6:5  Si enim complantati facti sumus similitudini mortis ejus : simul et resurrectionis erimus.
Roma KJV 6:5  For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Roma DRC 6:6  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin may be destroyed, to the end that we may serve sin no longer.
Roma KJV 6:6  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Roma DRC 6:7  For he that is dead is justified from sin.
Roma KJV 6:7  For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Roma DRC 6:8  Now, if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall live also together with Christ.
Roma KJV 6:8  Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
Roma DRC 6:9  Knowing that Christ, rising again from the dead, dieth now no more. Death shall no more have dominion over him.
Roma KJV 6:9  Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
Roma DRC 6:10  For in that he died to sin, he died once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
Roma KJV 6:10  For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
Roma DRC 6:11  So do you also reckon that you are dead to sin, but alive unto God, in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Roma KJV 6:11  Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Roma DRC 6:12  Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, so as to obey the lusts thereof.
Roma VulgClem 6:12  Non ergo regnet peccatum in vestro mortali corpore ut obediatis concupiscentiis ejus.
Roma KJV 6:12  Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
Roma DRC 6:13  Neither yield ye your members as instruments of iniquity unto sin: but present yourselves to God, as those that are alive from the dead; and your members as instruments of justice unto God.
Roma KJV 6:13  Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Roma DRC 6:14  For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under grace.
Roma KJV 6:14  For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Roma DRC 6:15  What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid!
Absit.
Roma KJV 6:15  What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Roma DRC 6:16  Know you not that to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants you are whom you obey, whether it be of sin unto death or of obedience unto justice.
Roma KJV 6:16  Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
Roma DRC 6:17  But thanks be to God, that you were the servants of sin but have obeyed from the heart unto that form of doctrine into which you have been delivered.
Roma KJV 6:17  But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Roma DRC 6:18  Being then freed from sin, we have been made servants of justice.
Roma VulgClem 6:18  Liberati autem a peccato, servi facti estis justitiæ.
Roma KJV 6:18  Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
Roma DRC 6:19  I speak an human thing, because of the infirmity of your flesh. For as you have yielded your members to serve uncleanness and iniquity, unto iniquity: so now yield your members to serve justice, unto sanctification.
Roma VulgClem 6:19  Humanum dico, propter infirmitatem carnis vestræ : sicut enim exhibuistis membra vestra servire immunditiæ, et iniquitati ad iniquitatem, ita nunc exhibete membra vestra servire justitiæ in sanctificationem.
Roma KJV 6:19  I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
Roma DRC 6:20  For when you were the servants of sin, you were free men to justice.
Roma VulgClem 6:20  Cum enim servi essetis peccati, liberi fuistis justitiæ.
Roma KJV 6:20  For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
Roma DRC 6:21  What fruit therefore had you then in those things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of them is death.
Roma VulgClem 6:21  Quem ergo fructum habuistis tunc in illis, in quibus nunc erubescitis ? nam finis illorum mors est.
Roma KJV 6:21  What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
Roma DRC 6:22  But now being made free from sin and become servants to God, you have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end life everlasting.
Roma VulgClem 6:22  Nunc vero liberati a peccato, servi autem facti Deo, habetis fructum vestrum in sanctificationem, finem vero vitam æternam.
Roma KJV 6:22  But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
Roma DRC 6:23  For the wages of sin is death. But the grace of God, life everlasting in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Roma VulgClem 6:23  Stipendia enim peccati, mors. Gratia autem Dei, vita æterna, in Christo Jesu Domino nostro.
Roma KJV 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
