Chapter 3
Ruth DRC 3:1  After she was returned to her mother in law, Noemi said to her: My daughter, I will seek rest for thee, and will provide that it may be well with thee.
Ruth KJV 3:1  Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?
Ruth CzeCEP 3:1  Potom jí její tchyně Noemi řekla: „Neměla bych ti, má dcero, vyhledat odpočinutí, aby ti bylo dobře?
Ruth CzeB21 3:1  Její tchyně Noemi jí pak řekla: „Musím ti najít domov, má dcero, abys byla šťastná.
Ruth CzeCSP 3:1  Její tchýně Noemi jí řekla: Má dcero, neměla bych snad pro tebe vyhledat místo odpočinku, kde by se ti dobře vedlo?
Ruth CzeBKR 3:1  Řekla jí potom Noémi svegruše její: Má dcero, nemám-liž pohledati tobě odpočinutí, aby tobě dobře bylo?
Ruth Webster 3:1  Then Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?
Ruth NHEB 3:1  Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, "My daughter, shall I not seek rest for you, that it may be well with you?

Ruth DRC 3:2  This Booz, with whose maids thou wast joined in the field, is our near kinsman, and behold this night he winnoweth barley in the threshingfloor.
Ruth KJV 3:2  And now is not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley to night in the threshingfloor.
Ruth Webster 3:2  And now [is] not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley to-night in the threshing-floor.
Ruth NHEB 3:2  Now isn't Boaz our kinsman, with whose maidens you were? Behold, he winnows barley tonight at the threshing floor.
Ruth AKJV 3:2  And now is not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens you were? Behold, he winnows barley to night in the threshing floor.
Ruth VulgClem 3:2  Booz iste, cujus puellis in agro juncta es, propinquus noster est, et hac nocte aream hordei ventilat.
Ruth DRC 3:3  Wash thyself therefore and anoint thee, and put on thy best garments, and go down to the barnfloor: but let not the man see thee, till he shall have done eating and drinking.
Ruth KJV 3:3  Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor: but make not thyself known unto the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.
Ruth Webster 3:3  Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and go down to the floor: [but] make not thyself known to the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.

Ruth DRC 3:4  And when he shall go to sleep, mark the place wherein he sleepeth: and thou shalt go in, and lift up the clothes wherewith he is covered towards his feet, and shalt lay thyself down there: and he will tell thee what thou must do.
Ruth KJV 3:4  And it shall be, when he lieth down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall lie, and thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thee down; and he will tell thee what thou shalt do.
Ruth CzeCEP 3:4  Až si lehne a ty zjistíš, kde leží, půjdeš, odkryješ mu plášť v nohách a lehneš si tam. On ti pak poví, co máš učinit.“
On ti pak poví, co máš dělat.“
Ruth CzeCSP 3:4  Až si půjde lehnout, zjisti místo, kde leží, jdi, odhal jeho nohy a ulehni. On ti oznámí, co máš dělat.
Ruth CzeBKR 3:4  A když půjde ležeti, znamenej místo, na kterémž lehne, a přijduc, pozdvihneš pláště u noh jeho, a tu se položíš; on pak oznámí tobě, co bys měla činiti.
Ruth Webster 3:4  And it shall be when he lieth down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall lie, and thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thee down; and he will tell thee what thou shalt do.

Ruth AKJV 3:4  And it shall be, when he lies down, that you shall mark the place where he shall lie, and you shall go in, and uncover his feet, and lay you down; and he will tell you what you shall do.
Ruth DRC 3:5  She answered: Whatsoever thou shalt command, I will do.
Ruth KJV 3:5  And she said unto her, All that thou sayest unto me I will do.

Ruth Webster 3:6  And she went down to the floor, and did according to all that her mother-in-law bade her.

Ruth KJV 3:7  And when Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn: and she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down.

Ruth DRC 3:8  And behold, when it was now midnight the man was afraid, and troubled: and he saw a woman lying at his feet,
Ruth KJV 3:8  And it came to pass at midnight, that the man was afraid, and turned himself: and, behold, a woman lay at his feet.

Ruth AKJV 3:8  And it came to pass at midnight, that the man was afraid, and turned himself: and, behold, a woman lay at his feet.
Ruth DRC 3:9  And he said to her: Who art thou ? And she answered: I am Ruth, thy handmaid: spread thy coverlet over thy servant, for thou art a near kinsman.
Ruth KJV 3:9  And he said, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth thine handmaid: spread therefore thy skirt over thine handmaid; for thou art a near kinsman.
Ruth CzeCEP 3:9  Otázal se: „Kdo jsi?“ Odpověděla: „Jsem Rút, tvá služebnice. Rozprostři nad svou služebnicí křídlo svého pláště, vždyť jsi zastánce.“
Ruth CzeB21 3:9  „Kdo jsi?“ zeptal se. „Tvá služebnice Rút,“ odpověděla. „Přikryj svou služebnici křídlem svého pláště, vždyť jsi náš příbuzný.“
Ruth CzeCSP 3:9  Zeptal se: Kdo jsi? Ona odpověděla: Jsem Rút, tvá služebnice. ⌈Rozprostři své křídlo nad⌉ svou služebnicí, vždyť jsi vykupitel.
Ruth CzeBKR 3:9  I řekl: Kdo jsi ty?
Ruth Webster 3:9  And he said, Who [art] thou? And she answered, I [am] Ruth thy handmaid: spread therefore thy skirt over thy handmaid; for thou [art] a near kinsman.

Ruth AKJV 3:9  And he said, Who are you? And she answered, I am Ruth your handmaid: spread therefore your skirt over your handmaid; for you are a near kinsman.
Ruth VulgClem 3:9  et ait illi : Quæ es ? Illaque respondit : Ego sum Ruth ancilla tua : expande pallium tuum super famulam tuam, quia propinquus es.
Ruth DRC 3:10  And he said: Blessed art thou of the Lord, my daughter, and thy latter kindness has surpassed the former: because thou hast not followed young men either poor or rich.
Ruth KJV 3:10  And he said, Blessed be thou of the Lord, my daughter: for thou hast shewed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men, whether poor or rich.
Ruth CzeCEP 3:10  Nato jí řekl: „Požehnána buď od Hospodina, má dcero. Projevila jsi teď větší oddanost než dříve, že nechodíš za mládenci, ani nuznými ani bohatými.
Ruth CzeB21 3:10  „Hospodin ti žehnej, dcero,“ řekl jí na to. „Teď jsi projevila ještě větší oddanost než předtím, neboť jsi nešla za mládenci – za chudými ani bohatými.
Ruth CzeCSP 3:10  On nato řekl: ⌈Jsi požehnaná Hospodinu,⌉ má dcero. Dobře jsi udělala. Tvé poslední milosrdenství je větší nežli první, když nechodíš za mládenci, ať chudými či bohatými.
Ruth CzeBKR 3:10  A on řekl: Požehnaná jsi ty od Hospodina, dcero má. Větší jsi nyní pobožnosti dokázala, nežli prvé, že jsi nehledala mládenců bohatých aneb chudých.
Ruth Webster 3:10  And he said, Blessed [be] thou of the LORD, my daughter: [for] thou hast shown more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou didst not follow young men, whether poor or rich.
Ruth NHEB 3:10  He said, "Blessed are you by the Lord, my daughter. You have shown more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as you didn't follow young men, whether poor or rich.
Ruth AKJV 3:10  And he said, Blessed be you of the LORD, my daughter: for you have showed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as you followed not young men, whether poor or rich.
Ruth VulgClem 3:10  Et ille : Benedicta, inquit, es a Domino, filia, et priorem misericordiam posteriore superasti : quia non est secuta juvenes, pauperes sive divites.
Ruth DRC 3:11  Fear not therefore, but whatsoever thou shalt say to me I will do to thee. For all the people that dwell within the gates of my city, know that thou art a virtuous woman.
Ruth KJV 3:11  And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.
Ruth CzeCEP 3:11  Už se neboj, má dcero! Udělám pro tebe všechno, oč si říkáš. Všechen můj lid v bráně ví, že jsi žena znamenitá.
Ruth CzeB21 3:11  Proto se neboj, dcero. Udělám pro tebe vše, co žádáš. Každý v mém městě přece ví, že jsi znamenitá žena.
Ruth CzeCSP 3:11  A nyní se, má dcero, neboj. Udělám pro tebe všechno, co řekneš, protože ⌈celé naše město⌉ ví, že jsi zdatná žena.
Ruth CzeBKR 3:11  Protož nyní, dcero má, neboj se; vše, čehož žádáš, učiním tobě, nebo víť všecko město lidu mého, že jsi ty žena šlechetná.
Ruth Webster 3:11  And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou [art] a virtuous woman.
Ruth NHEB 3:11  Now, my daughter, do not be afraid; I will do to you all that you say; for all the city of my people does know that you are a worthy woman.
Ruth AKJV 3:11  And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to you all that you require: for all the city of my people does know that you are a virtuous woman.
Ruth DRC 3:12  Neither do I deny myself to be near of kin, but there is another nearer than I.
Ruth KJV 3:12  And now it is true that I am thy near kinsman: howbeit there is a kinsman nearer than I.
Ruth Webster 3:12  And now it is true that I [am thy] near kinsman: yet there is a kinsman nearer than I.
Ruth NHEB 3:12  Now it is true that I am a redeeming kinsman; however there is a redeemer closer than I am.
Ruth AKJV 3:12  And now it is true that I am your near kinsman: however, there is a kinsman nearer than I.
Ruth VulgClem 3:12  Nec abnuo me propinquum, sed est alius me propinquior.
Ruth DRC 3:13  Rest thou this night: and when morning is come, if he will take thee by the right of kindred, all is well: but if he will not, I will undoubtedly take thee, so the Lord liveth: sleep till the morning.
Ruth KJV 3:13  Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman’s part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee, as the Lord liveth: lie down until the morning.
Spi klidně až do rána.“
Spi až do rána.“
Ruth CzeCSP 3:13  Zůstaň tu přes noc. A ráno, jestliže ⌈tě on vykoupí,⌉ dobře, ať vykoupí. A pokud si tě nebude přát vykoupit, vykoupím tě tedy já, jakože živ je Hospodin. Spi až do rána.
Ruth CzeBKR 3:13  Odpočiniž tu přes noc, a když bude ráno, jestližeť on bude chtíti práva příbuznosti k tobě užiti, dobře, nechť užive. Pakliť nebude chtíti práva užiti k tobě, já právem příbuznosti pojmu tebe, živť jest Hospodin. Spiž tu až do jitra.
Ruth Webster 3:13  Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, [that] if he will perform to thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman's part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee, [as] the LORD liveth: lie down until the morning.
Ruth NHEB 3:13  Stay this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform for you the part of a redeemer, well; let him do the redeemer's part. But if he will not do the part of a redeemer for you, then I will do the part of a redeemer for you, as the Lord lives. Lie down until the morning."
Ruth AKJV 3:13  Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform to you the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman's part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to you, then will I do the part of a kinsman to you, as the LORD lives: lie down until the morning.
Ruth VulgClem 3:13  Quiesce hac nocte : et facto mane, si te voluerit propinquitatis jure retinere, bene res acta est : sin autem ille noluerit, ego te absque ulla dubitatione suscipiam, vivit Dominus. Dormi usque mane.
Ruth DRC 3:14  So she slept at his feet till the night was going off. And she arose before men could know one another, and Booz said: Beware lest any man know that thou camest hither.
Ruth KJV 3:14  And she lay at his feet until the morning: and she rose up before one could know another. And he said, Let it not be known that a woman came into the floor.
Ruth Webster 3:14  And she lay at his feet until the morning: and she rose before one could know another. And he said, Let it not be known that a woman came to the floor.

Ruth AKJV 3:14  And she lay at his feet until the morning: and she rose up before one could know another. And he said, Let it not be known that a woman came into the floor.
Ruth VulgClem 3:14  Dormivit itaque ad pedes ejus, usque ad noctis abscessum.
Ruth DRC 3:15  And again he said: Spread thy mantle, wherewith thou art covered, and hold it with both hands. And when she spread it and held it, he measured six measures of barley, and laid it upon her. And she carried it, and went into the city,
Ruth KJV 3:15  Also he said, Bring the vail that thou hast upon thee, and hold it. And when she held it, he measured six measures of barley, and laid it on her: and she went into the city.
Ruth CzeCEP 3:15  A dodal: „Podej mi loktuši, co máš na sobě, a nastav ji.“ Když ji nastavila, odměřil jí šest měr ječmene a vložil na ni. Pak odešel do města
Ruth CzeB21 3:15  Řekl jí také: „Nastav pláštěnku a podrž ji.“ A když ji nastavila, odměřil jí šest měr ječmene. Když jí je naložil, odešel do města.
Ruth CzeCSP 3:15  Řekl ještě: Podej mi plachetku, kterou máš na sobě, a podrž ji. Podržela ji tedy a on naměřil ⌈šest měr ječmene⌉ a naložil to na ni. ⌈Pak šel do města.
Ruth CzeBKR 3:15  A řekl: Přines loktušku, kterouž se odíváš, a drž ji. A když ji držela, naměřiv jí šest měr ječmene, vložil na ni. I vešla do města.
Ruth Webster 3:15  Also he said, Bring the vail that [thou hast] upon thee, and hold it. And when she held it, he measured six [measures] of barley, and laid [it] on her: and she went into the city.
Ruth NHEB 3:15  He said, "Bring the mantle that is on you, and hold it." She held it; and he measured six measures of barley, and laid it on her; and he went into the city.
Ruth AKJV 3:15  Also he said, Bring the veil that you have on you, and hold it. And when she held it, he measured six measures of barley, and laid it on her: and she went into the city.
Ruth DRC 3:16  And came to her mother in law; who said to her: What hast thou done, daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to her.
Ruth KJV 3:16  And when she came to her mother in law, she said, Who art thou, my daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to her.
Ruth CzeCEP 3:16  a ona odešla k tchyni.
Ruth CzeBKR 3:16  A přišla k svegruši své. Kteráž řekla: Kdo jsi ty, dcero má? I vypravovala jí všecko, což jí učinil muž ten.
Ruth Webster 3:16  And when she came to her mother-in-law, she said, Who [art] thou, my daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to her.
Ruth NHEB 3:16  When she came to her mother-in-law, she said, "How did it go, my daughter?" She told her all that the man had done to her.
Ruth AKJV 3:16  And when she came to her mother in law, she said, Who are you, my daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to her.
Ruth VulgClem 3:16  et venit ad socrum suam. Quæ dixit ei : Quid egisti, filia ? Narravitque ei omnia, quæ sibi fecisset homo.
