28:1  And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, saying: Take not a wife of the stock of Chanaan:

28:2  Odejdi do Rovin aramských do domu Betúela, otce své matky, a odtud si vezmi ženu z dcer jejího bratra Lábana.

28:2  Vstaň a jdi do Padan-aramu, do domu Betuela, otce tvé matky, a tam si vyber manželku z dcer svého strýce Lábana.

28:2  Hned odejdi do Paddan–aramu do domu Betúela, otce tvé matky, a odtamtud si vyber ženu, z dcer Lábana, bratra tvé matky.

28:2  Ale vstana, jdi do Pádan Syrské do domu Bathuele, otce matky své, a pojmi sobě odtud manželku ze dcer Lábana ujce svého.

28:2  Arise, go to Padan-aram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother's father; and take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Laban thy mother's brother.

28:5  And when Isaac had sent him away, he took his journey and went to Mesopotamia of Syria, to Laban, the son of Bathuel, the Syrian, brother to Rebecca, his mother.

28:5  Pak Izák Jákoba propustil a ten šel do Rovin aramských k Lábanovi, synu Aramejce Betúela, bratru Jákobovy a Ezauovy matky Rebeky.

28:6  And Esau seeing that his father had blessed Jacob, and had sent him into Mesopotamia of Syria, to marry a wife thence; and that after the blessing he had charged him, saying: Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Chanaan:

28:6  When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padan–aram, to take him a wife from thence; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan;

28:6  Ezau viděl, že Izák Jákobovi požehnal a poslal ho do Rovin aramských, aby si odtamtud vzal ženu; že mu při požehnání přikázal, aby si nebral ženu z dcer kenaanských;

28:8  And Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father;

28:9  He went to Ismael, and took to wife, besides them he had before, Maheleth, the daughter of Ismael, Abraham's son, the sister of Nabajoth.

28:9  Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham’s son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife.

28:9  Šel tedy Ezau k Izmaelovi a přibral si ke svým ženám ještě Machalatu, dceru Abrahamova syna Izmaela, sestru Nebajótovu.

28:11  Dorazil na jedno místo a přenocoval tam, neboť slunce již zapadlo. Vzal jeden z kamenů, které na tom místě byly, postavil jej v hlavách a na tom místě ulehl.

28:11  And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set: and he took of the stones of that place, and put [them for] his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.

28:12  And he saw in his sleep a ladder standing upon the earth, and the top thereof touching heaven: the angels also of God ascending and descending by it.

28:12  And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.

28:12  Měl sen: Hle, na zemi stojí žebřík, jehož vrchol dosahuje k nebesům, a po něm vystupují a sestupují poslové Boží.

28:13  And, behold, the Lord stood above it, and said, I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;

28:13  Nad ním stojí Hospodin a praví: „Já jsem Hospodin, Bůh tvého otce Abrahama a Bůh Izákův. Zemi, na níž ležíš, dám tobě a tvému potomstvu.

28:13  And behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I [am] the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land on which thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed.

28:13  Behold, the Lord stood above it, and said, "I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac. The land whereon you lie, to you will I give it, and to your seed.

28:13  et Dominum innixum scalæ dicentem sibi : Ego sum Dominus Deus Abraham patris tui, et Deus Isaac : terram, in qua dormis, tibi dabo et semini tuo.

28:14  And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth: thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and IN THEE and thy seed, all the tribes of the earth SHALL BE BLESSED.

28:14  And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth; and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

28:14  Your seed will be as the dust of the earth, and you will spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south. In you and in your seed will all the families of the earth be blessed.

28:14  Eritque semen tuum quasi pulvis terræ : dilataberis ad occidentem, et orientem, et septentrionem, et meridiem : et benedicentur in te et in semine tuo cunctæ tribus terræ.

28:15  And I will be thy keeper whithersoever thou goest, and will bring thee back into this land: neither will I leave thee, till I shall have accomplished all that I have said.

28:15  And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.

28:15  Hle, já jsem s tebou. Budu tě střežit všude, kam půjdeš, a zase tě přivedu do této země. Nikdy tě neopustím, ale učiním, co jsem ti slíbil.“

28:15  And behold, I [am] with thee, and will keep thee in all [places] whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land: for I will not leave thee, until I have done [that] which I have declared to thee.

28:15  Behold, I am with you, and will keep you, wherever you go, and will bring you again into this land. For I will not leave you, until I have done that which I have spoken of to you."

28:15  And, behold, I am with you, and will keep you in all places where you go, and will bring you again into this land; for I will not leave you, until I have done that which I have spoken to you of.

28:15  Et ero custos tuus quocumque perrexeris, et reducam te in terram hanc : nec dimittam nisi complevero universa quæ dixi.

28:16  And when Jacob awaked out of sleep, he said: Indeed the Lord is in this place, and I knew it not.

28:16  And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not.

28:16  Tu procitl Jákob ze spánku a zvolal: „Jistě je na tomto místě Hospodin, a já jsem to nevěděl!“

28:16  And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew [it] not.

28:16  And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.

28:16  Cumque evigilasset Jacob de somno, ait : Vere Dominus est in loco isto, et ego nesciebam.

28:17  And trembling, he said: How terrible is this place? this is no other but the house of God, and the gate of heaven.

28:17  And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.

28:17  Bál se a řekl: „Jakou bázeň vzbuzuje toto místo! Není to nic jiného než dům Boží, je to brána nebeská.“

28:17  V posvátné hrůze pokračoval: „Jak hrozné je toto místo! Není to nic jiného než Boží dům a toto musí být nebeská brána!“

28:17  And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful [is] this place! this [is] no other but the house of God, and this [is] the gate of heaven.

28:17  And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.
