20:1  After this the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them of the Ammonites, were gathered together to fight against Josaphat.

20:1  It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.

20:1  Potom se stalo, že vytáhli Moábci a Amónovci a s nimi někteří z amónských spojenců do války proti Jóšafatovi.

20:1  Po nějaké době přitáhli Moábci spolu s Amonci a některými Meunity, aby proti Jošafatovi vedli válku.

20:1  I stalo se potom, že synové Moábovi, synové Amónovi a s nimi někteří z Meunejců vytáhli do boje proti Jóšafatovi.

20:2  And there came messengers, and told Josaphat, saying: There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea, and out of Syria, and behold they are in Asasonthamar, which is Engaddi.

20:2  Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazon–tamar, which is En–gedi.

20:2  Tu přišli a oznámili Jóšafatovi: „Vytáhlo proti tobě veliké množství z krajin za mořem, od Aramejců. Hle, jsou v Chasesón-támaru, to jest v Én-gedí.“

20:2  Jošafatovi bylo oznámeno: „Přitáhla proti tobě ohromná spousta z protějšího břehu Mrtvého moře, z Edomu, a už jsou v Chasason-tamaru!“ (To je En-gedi.)

20:2  Tu přišli a oznámili Jóšafatovi: Táhne proti tobě velký dav z druhé strany moře, od Aramu. Hle, jsou v Chasesón–támaru, to je v Én–gedí.

20:2  A přišedše, oznámili Jozafatovi, řkouce: Přitáhlo proti tobě množství veliké z zámoří, z země Syrské, a aj, jsou v Hasesontamar, jenž jest Engadi.

20:2  Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side of Syria; and behold, they [are] in Hazazon-tamar, which [is] En-gedi.

20:2  Then some came who told Jehoshaphat, saying, "A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea from Syria. Behold, they are in Hazazon Tamar" (that is, En Gedi).

20:3  And Josaphat being seized with fear betook himself wholly to pray to the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Juda.

20:6  And said: O Lord God of our fathers, thou art God in heaven, and rulest over all the kingdoms and nations, in thy hand is strength and power, and no one can resist thee.

20:6  And said, O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?

20:6  a řekl: „Hospodine, Bože našich otců, cožpak nejsi ty Bůh na nebi, který vládne nade všemi královstvími pronárodů? Máš v rukou moc a bohatýrskou sílu, nikdo se ti nemůže zpěčovat.

20:6  a promluvil: „Hospodine, Bože našich otců, ty jsi přece Bůh na nebesích! To ty vládneš královstvím všech národů a ve tvé ruce je síla i moc. Nikdo nemůže obstát před tebou!

20:6  a řekl: Hospodine, ⌈Bože našich otců,⌉ což ty nejsi Bůh na nebesích? Ty vládneš nad všemi královstvími národů. Ve tvé ruce je ⌈síla a udatnost.⌉ Není, kdo by se ti mohl postavit.

20:6  A řekl: Hospodine, Bože otců našich, zdaliž ty sám nejsi Bohem na nebi? Zdaliž ty nepanuješ nade všemi královstvími národů? Zdaliž v ruce tvé není síly a moci, tak že není, kdo by se mohl postaviti proti tobě?

20:6  And said, O LORD God of our fathers, [art] not thou God in heaven? and rulest thou [not] over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thy hand [is there not] power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?

20:6  and he said, "O Lord, the God of our fathers, aren't you God in heaven? Aren't you ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in your hand, so that no one is able to withstand you.

20:6  And said, O LORD God of our fathers, are not you God in heaven? and rule not you over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in your hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand you?

20:6  ait : Domine Deus patrum nostrorum, tu es Deus in cælo, et dominaris cunctis regnis gentium : in manu tua est fortitudo et potentia, nec quisquam tibi potest resistere.

20:7  Didst not thou our God kill all the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?

20:7  Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?

20:7  Což jsi to nebyl ty, náš Bože, jenž jsi vyhnal obyvatele této země před Izraelem, svým lidem? Dal jsi ji navěky potomkům Abrahama, svého přítele.

20:7  Byl jsi to přece ty, Bože náš, kdo před svým lidem Izraelem vyhnal obyvatele této země a dal ji potomkům svého přítele Abrahama na věky.

20:8  And they dwelt in it, and built in it a sanctuary to thy name, saying:

20:9  If evils fall upon us, the sword of judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we will stand in thy presence before this house, in which thy name is called upon: and we will cry to thee in our afflictions, and thou wilt hear, and save us.

20:9  If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.

20:9  ‚Jestliže na nás přijde něco zlého, meč soudu, mor či hlad, postavíme se před tento dům a před tebe, protože v tomto domě dlí tvé jméno, a ve svém soužení budeme k tobě volat, a ty nás vyslyšíš a zachráníš.‘

20:9  If, [when] evil cometh upon us, [as] the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name [is] in this house,) and cry to thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.

20:10  Now therefore behold the children of Ammon, and of Moab, and mount Seir, through whose lands thou didst not allow Israel to pass, when they came out of Egypt, but they turned aside from them, and slew them not,

20:10  And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;

20:10  Nyní pohleď na Amónovce a Moábce i na horu Seír, kudy jsi Izraeli nedovolil projít, když přicházel z egyptské země; uhnul od nich a nevyhladil je.

20:11  Do the contrary, and endeavour to cast us out of the possession which thou hast delivered to us.

20:14  And Jahaziel the son of Zacharias, the son of Banaias, the son of Jehiel, the son of Mathanias, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, was there, upon whom the spirit of the Lord came in the midst of the multitude,

20:14  Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the Lord in the midst of the congregation;

20:14  Tu sestoupil uprostřed shromáždění duch Hospodinův na Jachzíela, syna Zekarjáše, syna Benajáše, syna Jeíela, syna Matanjášova, lévijce ze synů Asafových,

20:14  Vtom uprostřed shromáždění sestoupil Duch Hospodinův na Jachziela, syna Zachariášova, syna Benajášova, syna Jehielova, syna Mataniášova, levitu ze synů Asafových.

20:14  Potom na Jachazíelovi, synu Zekarjáše, syna Benajáše, syna Jeíela, syna Matanjášova, lévitovi ze synů Asafových, spočinul uprostřed shromáždění Hospodinův Duch.

20:14  Jachaziel pak syn Zachariáše syna Benaiášova, syna Jehielova, syna Mataniášova, Levíta z synů Azafových, nadšen jsa duchem Hospodinovým, u prostřed toho shromáždění,

20:14  Then upon Jehaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation;

20:14  Then the Spirit of the Lord came on Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, the Levite, of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly;

20:14  Then on Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the middle of the congregation;

20:14  Erat autem Jahaziel filius Zachariæ filii Banaiæ filii Jehiel filii Mathaniæ, Levites de filiis Asaph, super quem factus est spiritus Domini, in medio turbæ,

20:15  And he said: Attend ye, all Juda, and you that dwell in Jerusalem, and thou king Josaphat: Thus saith the Lord to you: Fear ye not, and be not dismayed at this multitude: for the battle is not yours, but God's.

20:15  And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

20:15  a ten pravil: „Pozorně naslouchejte, všichni Judejci a obyvatelé Jeruzaléma, i ty, králi Jóšafate. Toto vám praví Hospodin: ‚Nebojte se a neděste se tohoto velikého množství.‘ Boj není váš, ale Boží.

20:15  Řekl: „Všechen Judo a obyvatelé Jeruzaléma i ty, králi Jošafate, poslouchejte. Toto vám praví Hospodin: Nebojte se ani se nelekejte té ohromné přesily. Ten boj není váš, ale Boží.

20:15  Řekl: Pozorně naslouchejte, všichni Judejci, obyvatelé Jeruzaléma a králi Jóšafate. Toto vám praví Hospodin: Nebojte se a neděste se tohoto velkého davu, protože boj není váš, ale Boží.

20:15  Řekl: Pozorujte všecken Judo a obyvatelé Jeruzalémští, i ty králi Jozafate. Takto vám praví Hospodin: Nebojte se vy, ani se lekejte množství tohoto velikého; nebo ne váš bude boj, ale Boží.

20:15  And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD to you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle [is] not yours, but God's.

20:15  and he said, "Listen, all Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you king Jehoshaphat. Thus says the Lord to you, 'Do not be afraid, neither be dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.

20:15  And he said, Listen you, all Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you king Jehoshaphat, Thus said the LORD to you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.

20:15  et ait : Attendite, omnis Juda, et qui habitatis Jerusalem, et tu, rex Josaphat : hæc dicit Dominus vobis : Nolite timere, nec paveatis hanc multitudinem : non est enim vestra pugna, sed Dei.

20:16  To morrow you shall go down against them: for they will come up by the ascent named Sis, and you shall find them at the head of the torrent, which is over against the wilderness of Jeruel.

20:16  To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.

20:16  Zítra proti nim sestupte, až budou vystupovat do Svahu květů. Potkáte je na konci úvalu směrem k poušti Jerúelu.

20:25  Jošafat pak se svým vojskem začal sbírat kořist. Našli u nich takové množství výzbroje, šatů a dalších cenností, že to ani nemohli pobrat. Kořisti nakonec bylo tolik, že jim trvalo tři dny, než ji posbírali.

20:25  Jóšafat a jeho lid přišel, aby loupili kořist a našli množství majetku, oděvy a cenné předměty. Nabrali si toho k neunesení. Tři dny loupili kořist, protože jí bylo mnoho.

20:25  Pročež přistoupil Jozafat s lidem svým, aby rozebrali loupeže jejich, a nalezli u nich hojnost zboží i klénotů na tělích zbitých. I rozbitovali toho mezi sebou, tak že unesti nemohli; za tři dni dělili ty loupeže, proto že jich mnoho bylo.
