Chapter 17
John DRC 17:1  These things Jesus spoke: and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said: the hour is come. Glorify thy Son, that thy Son may glorify thee.
John VulgClem 17:1  Hæc locutus est Jesus : et sublevatis oculis in cælum, dixit : Pater, venit hora : clarifica Filium tuum, ut Filius tuus clarificet te :
John KJV 17:1  These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
John DRC 17:2  As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he may give eternal life to all whom thou hast given him.
John VulgClem 17:2  sicut dedisti ei potestatem omnis carnis, ut omne, quod dedisti ei, det eis vitam æternam.
John KJV 17:2  As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
John DRC 17:3  Now this is eternal life: That they may know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
John KJV 17:3  And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
John DRC 17:4  I have glorified thee on the earth; I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
John VulgClem 17:4  Ego te clarificavi super terram : opus consummavi, quod dedisti mihi ut faciam :
John KJV 17:4  I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
John DRC 17:5  And now glorify thou me, O Father, with thyself, with the glory which I had, before the world was, with thee.
John VulgClem 17:5  et nunc clarifica me tu, Pater, apud temetipsum, claritate quam habui, priusquam mundus esset, apud te.
John KJV 17:5  And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
John DRC 17:6  I have manifested thy name to the men whom thou hast given me out of the world. Thine they were: and to me thou gavest them. And they have kept thy word.
John VulgClem 17:6  Manifestavi nomen tuum hominibus, quos dedisti mihi de mundo : tui erant, et mihi eos dedisti : et sermonem tuum servaverunt.
John KJV 17:6  I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
John DRC 17:7  Now they have known that all things which thou hast given me are from thee:
John VulgClem 17:7  Nunc cognoverunt quia omnia quæ dedisti mihi, abs te sunt :
John KJV 17:7  Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
John DRC 17:8  Because the words which thou gavest me, I have given to them. And they have received them and have known in very deed that I came out from thee: and they have believed that thou didst send me.
John VulgClem 17:8  quia verba quæ dedisti mihi, dedi eis : et ipsi acceperunt, et cognoverunt vere quia a te exivi, et crediderunt quia tu me misisti.
John KJV 17:8  For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
John DRC 17:9  I pray for them. I pray not for the world, but for them whom thou hast given me: because they are thine.
John KJV 17:9  I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
John DRC 17:10  And all my things are thine, and thine are mine: and I am glorified in them.
John KJV 17:10  And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
John DRC 17:11  And now I am not in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name whom thou hast given me: that they may be one, as we also are.
John KJV 17:11  And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
John DRC 17:12  While I was with them, I kept them in thy name. Those whom thou gavest me have I kept: and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition: that the scripture may be fulfilled.
John KJV 17:12  While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
John DRC 17:13  And now I come to thee: and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy filled in themselves.
John KJV 17:13  And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
John DRC 17:14  I have given them thy word, and the world hath hated them: because they are not of the world, as I also am not of the world.
John KJV 17:14  I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
John DRC 17:15  I pray not that thou shouldst take them out of the world, but that thou shouldst keep them from evil.
John KJV 17:15  I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
John DRC 17:16  They are not of the world, as I also am not of the world.
John KJV 17:16  They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
John DRC 17:17  Sanctify them in truth. Thy word is truth.
John VulgClem 17:17  Sanctifica eos in veritate. Sermo tuus veritas est.
John KJV 17:17  Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
John DRC 17:18  As thou hast sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.
John VulgClem 17:18  Sicut tu me misisti in mundum, et ego misi eos in mundum :
John KJV 17:18  As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
John DRC 17:19  And for them do I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.
John KJV 17:19  And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
John DRC 17:20  And not for them only do I pray, but for them also who through their word shall believe in me.
John KJV 17:20  Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
John DRC 17:21  That they all may be one, as thou, Father, in me, and I in thee; that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
John VulgClem 17:21  ut omnes unum sint, sicut tu Pater in me, et ego in te, ut et ipsi in nobis unum sint : ut credat mundus, quia tu me misisti.
John KJV 17:21  That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
John DRC 17:22  And the glory which thou hast given me, I have given to them: that, they may be one, as we also are one.
John KJV 17:22  And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
John DRC 17:23  I in them, and thou in me: that they may be made perfect in one: and the world may know that thou hast sent me and hast loved them, as thou hast also loved me.
John VulgClem 17:23  Ego in eis, et tu in me : ut sint consummati in unum : et cognoscat mundus quia tu me misisti, et dilexisti eos, sicut et me dilexisti.
John KJV 17:23  I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
John DRC 17:24  Father, I will that where I am, they also whom thou hast given me may be with me: that they may see my glory which thou hast given me, because thou hast loved me before the creation of the world.
John VulgClem 17:24  Pater, quos dedisti mihi, volo ut ubi sum ego, et illi sint mecum : ut videant claritatem meam, quam dedisti mihi : quia dilexisti me ante constitutionem mundi.
John KJV 17:24  Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
John DRC 17:25  Just Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee. And these have known that thou hast sent me.
John KJV 17:25  O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
John DRC 17:26  And I have made known thy name to them and will make it known: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
John KJV 17:26  And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
