131:1  A gradual canticle. O Lord, remember David, and all his meekness.

131:1  Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.

131:1  Poutní píseň, Davidova. Nemám, Hospodine, domýšlivé srdce ani povýšený pohled. Neženu se za velkými věcmi, za divy, jež nevystihnu,

131:1  Davidova poutní píseň. Nemám, Hospodine, srdce naduté, povýšeným zrakem nerozhlížím se. Do ničeho přehnaného se nepouštím, do ničeho, co je nad mé možnosti.

131:1  Píseň stupňů, Davidova. Hospodine, mé srdce se nepovyšuje a mé oči nejsou povýšené. Nevstupuji do velkých věcí, do divů, které jsou nade mě.

131:2  Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.

131:2  nýbrž chovám se klidně a tiše. Jako odstavené dítě u své matky, jako odstavené dítě je ve mně má duše.

131:2  Což nejsem spokojený a poklidný, jako když matka své dítě nakojí? Právě nakojenému se podobá ve mně duše má.

131:5  Or rest to my temples: until I find out a place for the Lord, a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.

131:6  Behold we have heard of it in Ephrata: we have found it in the fields of the wood.

131:8  Arise, O Lord, into thy resting place: thou and the ark, which thou hast sanctified.

131:8  Surge, Domine, in requiem tuam, tu et arca sanctificationis tuæ.

131:9  Let thy priests be clothed with justice: and let thy saints rejoice.

131:9  Sacerdotes tui induantur justitiam, et sancti tui exsultent.

131:10  For thy servant David's sake, turn not away the face of thy anointed.

131:10  Propter David servum tuum non avertas faciem christi tui.

131:11  The Lord hath sworn truth to David, and he will not make it void: of the fruit of thy womb I will set upon thy throne.

131:11  Juravit Dominus David veritatem, et non frustrabitur eam : De fructu ventris tui ponam super sedem tuam.

131:12  If thy children will keep my covenant, and these my testimonies which I shall teach them: Their children also for evermore shall sit upon thy throne.

131:12  Si custodierint filii tui testamentum meum, et testimonia mea hæc quæ docebo eos, et filii eorum usque in sæculum sedebunt super sedem tuam.

131:13  For the Lord hath chosen Sion: he hath chosen it for his dwelling.

131:14  This is my rest for ever and ever: here will I dwell, for I have chosen it.

131:15  Blessing I will bless her widow: I will satisfy her poor with bread.

131:15  Viduam ejus benedicens benedicam ; pauperes ejus saturabo panibus.

131:16  I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints shall rejoice with exceeding great joy.

131:17  There will I bring forth a horn to David: I have prepared a lamp for my anointed.

131:17  Illuc producam cornu David ; paravi lucernam christo meo.

131:18  His enemies I will clothe with confusion: but upon him shall my sanctification flourish.
