1:1  In the days of the judges, when the judges ruled, there came a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehem Juda, went to sojourn in the land of Moab with his wife and his two sons.

1:6  Proto se přichystala se svými snachami k návratu z Moábských polí. Uslyšela totiž na Moábských polích, že Hospodin se opět přiklonil ke svému lidu a dal mu chléb.

1:6  Když se pak v moábském kraji dozvěděla, že Hospodin navštívil svůj lid a dal mu chléb, připravila se s oběma svými snachami k návratu.

1:6  Tu povstala ona i její snachy a navrátila se z moábských polí. V moábské krajině se totiž doslechla, že Hospodin navštívil svůj lid, ⌈aby mu dal chléb.⌉

1:6  Tedy vstavši ona s nevěstami svými, navracela se z krajiny Moábské; nebo slyšela v krajině Moábské, že Hospodin navštívil lid svůj, dav jemu chléb.

1:8  vybídla cestou Noemi obě své snachy: „Jděte, vraťte se každá do domu své matky. Nechť vám Hospodin prokáže milosrdenství, jako jste je vy prokazovaly zemřelým i mně.

1:8  „Jděte,“ řekla tehdy oběma svým snachám, „vraťte se domů ke svým matkám. Kéž je k vám Hospodin laskav, jako jste vy byly laskavé k našim mrtvým i ke mně.

1:8  And Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, Go, return each to her mother's house: the LORD deal kindly with you, as ye have dealt with the dead, and with me.

1:10  And to say: We will go on with thee to thy people.

1:12  Return again, my daughters, and go your ways: for I am now spent with age, and not fit for wedlock. Although I might conceive this night, and bear children,

1:12  Revertimini, filiæ meæ, et abite : jam enim senectute confecta sum, nec apta vinculo conjugali : etiamsi possem hac nocte concipere, et parere filios,

1:13  If you would wait till they were grown up, and come to man's estate, you would be old women before you marry. Do not so, my daughters, I beseech you: for I am grieved the more for your distress, and the hand of the Lord is gone out against me.

1:13  Would ye tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands? nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the Lord is gone out against me.

1:13  čekaly byste proto, až by dospěli? Zdráhaly byste se proto vdát? Nikoli, mé dcery. Můj úděl je pro vás příliš trpký: Dolehla na mne Hospodinova ruka.“

1:13  Zdaž byste na ně čekaly, až by dorostli? Zdaliž tou příčinou meškati se budete, abyste se neměly vdáti? Ne tak, mé dcerky, nebo mé trápení větší jest nežli vaše, proto že ruka Hospodinova jest proti mně.

1:13  Would ye wait for them till they should be grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands? nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes, that the hand of the LORD has gone out against me.

1:13  would you then wait until they were grown? Would you then refrain from having husbands? No, my daughters, for it grieves me much for your sakes, for the hand of the Lord has gone out against me."

1:13  Would you tarry for them till they were grown? would you stay for them from having husbands? no, my daughters; for it grieves me much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD is gone out against me.

1:13  si eos expectare velitis donec crescant, et annos pubertatis impleant, ante eritis vetulæ quam nubatis. Nolite, quæso, filiæ meæ : quia vestra angustia magis me premit, et egressa est manus Domini contra me.

1:14  And they lifted up their voice, and began to weep again: Orpha kissed her mother in law, and returned: Ruth stuck close to her mother in law.

1:14  Tu se rozplakaly ještě hlasitěji. Orpa políbila svou tchyni na rozloučenou, avšak Rút se k ní přimkla.

1:14  Tehdy se rozplakaly ještě více. Orpa nakonec svou tchyni políbila a odešla, ale Rút se jí stále držela.

1:14  Ony nato ⌈pozvedly svůj hlas a znovu se rozplakaly.⌉ Orpa svou tchýni políbila, ale Rút ⌈k ní přilnula.⌉

1:14  Ony pak pozdvihše hlasu, opět plakaly. A Orfa políbivši svegruši svou, odešla, Rut pak přídržela se jí.

1:15  And Noemi said to her: Behold thy kinswoman is returned to her people, and to her gods, go thou with her.

1:15  Noemi jí řekla: „Hle, tvá švagrová se vrací ke svému lidu a ke svým bohům. Vrať se také, následuj svou švagrovou!“

1:15  And she said, Behold, thy sister-in-law hath gone back to her people, and to her gods: return thou after thy sister-in-law.

1:16  She answered: Be not against me, to desire that I should leave thee and depart: for whithersoever thou shalt go, I will go: and where thou shalt dwell, I also will dwell. Thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God.

1:16  And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

1:16  Ale Rút jí odvětila: „Nenaléhej na mne, abych tě opustila a vrátila se od tebe. Kamkoli půjdeš, půjdu, kdekoli zůstaneš, zůstanu. Tvůj lid bude mým lidem a tvůj Bůh mým Bohem.

1:16  Rút jí ale odpověděla: „Nenuť mě, abych tě opustila a odvrátila se od tebe. Kam půjdeš, půjdu, kde zůstaneš, tam budu. Tvůj lid bude mým lidem a tvůj Bůh mým Bohem.

1:16  Avšak Rút odpověděla: ⌈Nenaléhej na mě,⌉ abych tě opustila a odvrátila se od cesty za tebou, protože ⌈kam půjdeš, půjdu i já, a kde zůstaneš,⌉ zůstanu také; tvůj lid bude mým lidem a tvůj Bůh mým Bohem.

1:16  Ale Rut řekla: Nenuť mne, abych tě opustiti a od tebe odjíti měla. Nebo kamž se koli obrátíš, půjdu, a kdekoli bydliti budeš, i já bydliti budu; lid tvůj lid můj, a Bůh tvůj Bůh můj.

1:16  And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee, [or] to return from following thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people [shall be] my people, and thy God my God:

1:16  Ruth said, "Do not urge me to leave you, and to return from following after you, for where you go, I will go; and where you stay, I will stay; your people shall be my people, and your God my God;

1:16  And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave you, or to return from following after you: for where you go, I will go; and where you lodge, I will lodge: your people shall be my people, and your God my God:

1:16  Quæ respondit : Ne adverseris mihi ut relinquam te et abeam : quocumque enim perrexeris, pergam, et ubi morata fueris, et ego pariter morabor. Populus tuus populus meus, et Deus tuus Deus meus.

1:17  The land that shall receive thee dying, in the same will I die: and there will I be buried. The Lord do so and so to me, and add more also, if aught but death part me and thee.

1:17  Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.

1:17  Kde umřeš ty, umřu i já a tam budu pochována. Ať se mnou Hospodin udělá, co chce! Rozdělí nás od sebe jen smrt.“

1:18  Then Noemi seeing that Ruth was steadfastly determined to go with her, would not be against it, nor persuade her any more to return to her friends:

1:20  Ona však odpověděla: „Neříkejte mi Noemi, Rozkoš má, ale spíš Mara, Zatrpklá – tak trpký úděl mi Všemohoucí dal!

1:21  Odcházela jsem s plnou náručí, ale Hospodin mě přivádí zpět s prázdnou. Jak byste mě mohly nazývat Noemi, když je Hospodin proti mně a když mi Všemohoucí určil zlý úděl?“

1:21  S plnou náručí jsem odcházela, Hospodin s prázdnou vrátil mě. Proč říkáte mi Noemi? Hospodin stojí proti mně, Všemohoucí mě sužuje!“

1:21  Já jsem odešla plná a Hospodin mě přivedl zpět prázdnou. Proč mě nazýváte Noemi, když Hospodin svědčí proti mně a Všemohoucí se mnou zle jedná?

1:21  Vyšla jsem plná, teď pak prázdnou mne zase Hospodin přivedl. Pročež tedy nazýváte mne Noémi, poněvadž mne Hospodin ssoužil, a Všemohoucí mne znuzil?

1:22  So Noemi came with Ruth, the Moabitess, her daughter in law, from the land of her sojournment: and returned into Bethlehem, in the beginning of the barley harvest.
