40:1  After this, it came to pass, that two eunuchs, the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, offended their lord.

40:8  And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.

40:8  Odvětili mu: „Měli jsme sen, avšak není tu nikdo, kdo by jej vyložil.“ Josef jim nato řekl: „Což vykládat sny není věc Boží? Jen mi je vypravujte.“

40:8  And they said to him, We have dreamed a dream, and [there is] no interpreter of it. And Joseph said to them, [Do] not interpretations [belong] to God? tell me [them], I pray you.

40:9  The chief butler first told his dream: I saw before me a vine,

40:9  And the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my dream, behold, a vine was before me;

40:13  Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh’s cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.

40:13  již po třech dnech tvou hlavu farao povýší a tvou hodnost ti vrátí. Budeš faraónovi podávat do ruky jeho číši podle dřívějšího práva, kdy jsi býval jeho číšníkem.

40:13  Už za tři dny tě farao předvolá a vrátí ti tvůj úřad. Budeš faraonovi podávat pohár, jako jsi to dělával, když jsi býval jeho číšníkem.

40:13  Během tří dnů farao povýší tvou hlavu a vrátí tě do tvého úřadu. A budeš podávat faraonův pohár do jeho ruky podle původního práva, když jsi byl jeho číšníkem.

40:13  Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head, and restore thee to thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh's cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.

40:16  The chief baker seeing that he had wisely interpreted the dream, said: I also dreamed a dream, That I had three baskets of meal upon my head:

40:16  When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said unto Joseph, I also was in my dream, and, behold, I had three white baskets on my head:

40:20  And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.

40:20  Stalo se pak třetího dne, v den faraónových narozenin, že farao vystrojil hody pro všechny své služebníky. Uprostřed svých služebníků povýšil hlavu nejvyššího číšníka a hlavu nejvyššího pekaře:

40:20  Třetího dne pak měl farao narozeniny a vystrojil všem svým služebníkům hostinu. Tehdy před očima svých služebníků předvolal vrchního číšníka i vrchního pekaře.
