Chapter 19
Isai DRC 19:1  The burden of Egypt. Behold the Lord will ascend upon a swift cloud, and will enter into Egypt, and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst thereof.
Isai VulgClem 19:1  Onus Ægypti. Ecce Dominus ascendet super nubem levem, et ingredietur Ægyptum, et commovebuntur simulacra Ægypti a facie ejus, et cor Ægypti tabescet in medio ejus,
Isai KJV 19:1  The burden of Egypt. Behold, the Lord rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.
Isai DRC 19:2  And I will set the Egyptians to fight against the Egyptians: and they shall fight brother against brother, and friend against friend, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.
Isai VulgClem 19:2  et concurrere faciam Ægyptios adversus Ægyptios ; et pugnabit vir contra fratrem suum, et vir contra amicum suum, civitas adversus civitatem, regnum adversus regnum.
Isai KJV 19:2  And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.
Isai DRC 19:3  And the spirit of Egypt shall be broken in the bowels thereof, and I will cast down their counsel: and they shall consult their idols, and their diviners, and their wizards, and soothsayers.
Isai VulgClem 19:3  Et dirumpetur spiritus Ægypti in visceribus ejus, et consilium ejus præcipitabo ; et interrogabunt simulacra sua, et divinos suos, et pythones, et ariolos.
Isai KJV 19:3  And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.
Isai DRC 19:4  And I will deliver Egypt into the hand of cruel masters, and a strong king shall rule over them, saith the Lord the God of hosts.
Isai VulgClem 19:4  Et tradam Ægyptum in manu dominorum crudelium, et rex fortis dominabitur eorum, ait Dominus Deus exercituum.
Isai KJV 19:4  And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the Lord of hosts.
Isai DRC 19:5  And the water of the sea shall be dried up, and the river shall be wasted and dry.
Isai VulgClem 19:5  Et arescet aqua de mari, et fluvius desolabitur atque siccabitur.
Isai KJV 19:5  And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.
Isai DRC 19:6  And the rivers shall fail: the streams of the banks shall be diminished, and be dried up. The reed and the bulrush shall wither away.
Isai VulgClem 19:6  Et deficient flumina, attenuabuntur et siccabuntur rivi aggerum, calamus et juncus marcescet.
Isai KJV 19:6  And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither.
Isai DRC 19:7  The channel of the river shall be laid bare from its fountain, and every thing sown by the water shall be dried up, it shall wither away, and shall be no more.
Isai VulgClem 19:7  Nudabitur alveus rivi a fonte suo, et omnis sementis irrigua siccabitur, arescet, et non erit.
Isai KJV 19:7  The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.
Isai DRC 19:8  The fishers also shall mourn, and all that cast a hook into the river shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish away.
Isai VulgClem 19:8  Et mœrebunt piscatores, et lugebunt omnes mittentes in flumen hamum ; et expandentes rete super faciem aquarum emarcescent.
Isai KJV 19:8  The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.
Isai DRC 19:9  They shall be confounded that wrought in flax, combing and weaving fine linen.
Isai VulgClem 19:9  Confundentur qui operabantur linum, pectentes et texentes subtilia.
Isai KJV 19:9  Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks, shall be confounded.
Isai DRC 19:10  And its watery places shall be dry, all they shall mourn that made pools to take fishes.
Isai VulgClem 19:10  Et erunt irrigua ejus flaccentia : omnes qui faciebant lacunas ad capiendos pisces.
Isai KJV 19:10  And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish.
Isai DRC 19:11  The princes of Tanis are become fools, the wise counsellors of Pharao have given foolish counsel: how will you say to Pharao: I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?
Isai VulgClem 19:11  Stulti principes Taneos, sapientes consiliarii Pharaonis dederunt consilium insipiens. Quomodo dicetis Pharaoni : Filius sapientium ego, filius regum antiquorum ?
Isai KJV 19:11  Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?
Isai DRC 19:12  Where are now thy wise men? let them tell thee, and shew what the Lord of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt.
Isai VulgClem 19:12  Ubi nunc sunt sapientes tui ? annuntient tibi, et indicent quid cogitaverit Dominus exercituum super Ægyptum.
Isai KJV 19:12  Where are they? where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and let them know what the Lord of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt.
Isai DRC 19:13  The princes of Tanis are become fools, the princes of Memphis are gone astray, they have deceived Egypt, the stay of the people thereof.
Isai VulgClem 19:13  Stulti facti sunt principes Taneos, emarcuerunt principes Mempheos ; deceperunt Ægyptum, angulum populorum ejus.
Isai KJV 19:13  The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.
Isai DRC 19:14  The Lord hath mingled in the midst thereof the spirit of giddiness: and they have caused Egypt to err in all its works, as a drunken man staggereth and vomiteth.
Isai VulgClem 19:14  Dominus miscuit in medio ejus spiritum vertiginis ; et errare fecerunt Ægyptum in omni opere suo, sicut errat ebrius et vomens.
Isai KJV 19:14  The Lord hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.
Isai DRC 19:15  And there shall be no work for Egypt, to make head or tail, him that bendeth down, or that holdeth back.
Isai VulgClem 19:15  Et non erit Ægypto opus quod faciat caput et caudam, incurvantem et refrenantem.
Isai KJV 19:15  Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.
Isai DRC 19:16  In that day Egypt shall be like unto women, and they shall be amazed, and afraid, because of the moving of the hand of the Lord of hosts, which he shall move over it.
Isai VulgClem 19:16  In die illa erit Ægyptus quasi mulieres ; et stupebunt, et timebunt a facie commotionis manus Domini exercituum, quam ipse movebit super eam.
Isai KJV 19:16  In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the Lord of hosts, which he shaketh over it.
Isai DRC 19:17  And the land of Juda shall be a terror to Egypt: everyone that shall remember it shall tremble because of the counsel of the Lord of hosts, which he hath determined concerning it.
Isai VulgClem 19:17  Et erit terra Juda Ægypto in pavorem ; omnis qui illius fuerit recordatus pavebit a facie consilii Domini exercituum, quod ipse cogitavit super eam.
Isai KJV 19:17  And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the Lord of hosts, which he hath determined against it.
Isai DRC 19:18  In that day there shall be five cities in the land of Egypt, speaking the language of Chanaan, and swearing by the Lord of hosts: one shall be called the city of the sun.
Isai VulgClem 19:18  In die illa erunt quinque civitates in terra Ægypti loquentes lingua Chanaan, et jurantes per Dominum exercituum : Civitas solis vocabitur una.
Isai KJV 19:18  In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the Lord of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.
Isai DRC 19:19  In that day there shall be an altar of the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a monument of the Lord at the borders thereof:
Isai VulgClem 19:19  In die illa erit altare Domini in medio terræ Ægypti, et titulus Domini juxta terminum ejus.
Isai KJV 19:19  In that day shall there be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the Lord.
Isai DRC 19:20  It shall be for a sign, and for a testimony to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt. For they shall cry to the Lord because of the oppressor, and he shall send them a Saviour and a defender to deliver them.
Isai VulgClem 19:20  Erit in signum et in testimonium Domino exercituum in terra Ægypti ; clamabunt enim ad Dominum a facie tribulationis, et mittet eis salvatorem et propugnatorem qui liberet eos.
Isai KJV 19:20  And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the Lord because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.
Isai DRC 19:21  And the Lord shall be known by Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the Lord in that day, and shall worship him with sacrifices and offerings: and they shall make vows to the Lord, and perform them.
Isai VulgClem 19:21  Et cognoscetur Dominus ab Ægypto, et cognoscent Ægyptii Dominum in die illa ; et colent eum in hostiis et in muneribus ; et vota vovebunt Domino, et solvent.
Isai KJV 19:21  And the Lord shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the Lord in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the Lord, and perform it.
Isai DRC 19:22  And the Lord shall strike Egypt with a scourge, and shall heal it, and they shall return to the Lord, and he shall be pacified towards them, and heal them.
Isai VulgClem 19:22  Et percutiet Dominus Ægyptum plaga, et sanabit eam ; et revertentur ad Dominum, et placabitur eis, et sanabit eos.
Isai KJV 19:22  And the Lord shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the Lord, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.
Isai DRC 19:23  In that day there shall be a way from Egypt to the Assyrians, and the Assyrian shall enter into Egypt, and the Egyptian to the Assyrians, and the Egyptians shall serve the Assyrian.
Isai VulgClem 19:23  In die illa erit via de Ægypto in Assyrios ; et intrabit Assyrius Ægyptum, et Ægyptius in Assyrios, et servient Ægyptii Assur.
Isai KJV 19:23  In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.
Isai DRC 19:24  In that day shall Israel be the third to the Egyptian and the Assyrian: a blessing in the midst of the land,
Isai VulgClem 19:24  In die illa erit Israël tertius Ægyptio et Assyrio ; benedictio in medio terræ
Isai KJV 19:24  In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:
Isai DRC 19:25  Which the Lord of hosts hath blessed, saying: Blessed be my people of Egypt, and the work of my hands to the Assyrian: but Israel is my inheritance.
Isai VulgClem 19:25  cui benedixit Dominus exercituum, dicens : Benedictus populus meus Ægypti, et opus manuum mearum Assyrio ; hæreditas autem mea Israël.
Isai KJV 19:25  Whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.
