Chapter 33
Jere DRC 33:1  And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying:
Jere VulgClem 33:1  Et factum est verbum Domini ad Jeremiam secundo, cum adhuc clausus esset in atrio carceris, dicens :
Jere KJV 33:1  Moreover the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying,
Jere DRC 33:2  Thus saith the Lord, who will do, and will form it, and prepare it, the Lord is his name.
Jere KJV 33:2  Thus saith the Lord the maker thereof, the Lord that formed it, to establish it; the Lord is his name;
Jere DRC 33:3  Cry to me and I will hear thee: and I will shew thee great things, and sure things which thou knowest not.
Jere KJV 33:3  Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
Jere DRC 33:4  For thus saith the Lord the God of Israel to the houses of this city, and to the houses of the king of Juda, which are destroyed, and to the bulwarks, and to the sword.
Jere KJV 33:4  For thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown down by the mounts, and by the sword;
Jere DRC 33:5  Of them that come to fight with the Chaldeans, and to fill them with the dead bodies of the men whom I have slain in my wrath, and in my indignation, hiding my face from this city because of all their wickedness.
Jere VulgClem 33:5  venientium ut dimicent cum Chaldæis, et impleant eas cadaveribus hominum quos percussi in furore meo et in indignatione mea, abscondens faciem meam a civitate hac, propter omnem malitiam eorum :
Jere KJV 33:5  They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.
Jere DRC 33:6  Behold I will close their wounds and give them health, and I will cure them: and I will reveal to them the prayer of peace and truth.
Jere VulgClem 33:6  Ecce ego obducam eis cicatricem et sanitatem, et curabo eos, et revelabo illis deprecationem pacis et veritatis.
Jere KJV 33:6  Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.
Jere DRC 33:7  And I will bring back the captivity of Juda, and the captivity of Jerusalem: and I will build them as from the beginning.
Jere VulgClem 33:7  Et convertam conversionem Juda et conversionem Jerusalem, et ædificabo eos sicut a principio.
Jere KJV 33:7  And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.
Jere DRC 33:8  And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me: and I will forgive all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned against me, and despised me.
Jere VulgClem 33:8  Et emundabo illos ab omni iniquitate sua in qua peccaverunt mihi, et propitius ero cunctis iniquitatibus eorum, in quibus dereliquerunt mihi et spreverunt me.
Jere KJV 33:8  And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.
Jere DRC 33:9  And it shall be to me a name, and a joy, and a praise, and a gladness before all the nations of the earth, that shall hear of all the good things which I will do to them: and they shall fear and be troubled for all the good things, and for all the peace that I will make for them.
Jere KJV 33:9  And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.
Jere DRC 33:10  Thus saith the Lord: There shall be heard again in this place (which you say is desolate, because there is neither man nor beast: in the cities of Juda, and without Jerusalem, which are desolate without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast)
Jere KJV 33:10  Thus saith the Lord; Again there shall be heard in this place, which ye say shall be desolate without man and without beast, even in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast,
Jere DRC 33:11  The voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say: Give ye glory to the Lord of hosts, for the Lord is good, for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring their vows into the house of the Lord: for I will bring back the captivity of the land as at the first, saith the Lord.
Jere VulgClem 33:11  vox gaudii et vox lætitiæ, vox sponsi et vox sponsæ, vox dicentium : Confitemini Domino exercituum, quoniam bonus Dominus, quoniam in æternum misericordia ejus : et portantium vota in domum Domini : reducam enim conversionem terræ sicut a principio, dicit Dominus.
Jere KJV 33:11  The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the Lord of hosts: for the Lord is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the Lord.
Jere DRC 33:12  Thus saith the Lord of hosts: There shall be again in this place that is desolate without man, and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, an habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.
Jere VulgClem 33:12  Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum : Adhuc erit in loco isto deserto, absque homine et absque jumento, et in cunctis civitatibus ejus, habitaculum pastorum accubantium gregum.
Jere KJV 33:12  Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.
Jere DRC 33:13  And in the cities on the mountains, and in the cities of the plains, and in the cities that are towards the south: and in the land of Benjamin, and round about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Juda shall the flocks pass again under the hand of him that numbereth them, saith the Lord.
Jere KJV 33:13  In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the vale, and in the cities of the south, and in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, shall the flocks pass again under the hands of him that telleth them, saith the Lord.
Jere DRC 33:14  Behold the days come, saith the Lord, that I will perform the good word that I have spoken to the house of Israel, and to the house of Juda.
Jere KJV 33:14  Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.
Jere DRC 33:15  In those days, and at that time, I will make the bud of justice to spring forth unto David, and he shall do judgment and justice in the earth.
Jere VulgClem 33:15  In diebus illis et in tempore illo germinare faciam David germen justitiæ, et faciet judicium et justitiam in terra :
Jere KJV 33:15  In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.
Jere DRC 33:16  In those days shall Juda be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell securely: and this is the name that they shall call him, The Lord our just one.
Jere KJV 33:16  In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The Lord our righteousness.
Jere DRC 33:17  For thus saith the Lord: There shall not be cut off from David a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel.
Jere VulgClem 33:17  Quia hæc dicit Dominus : Non interibit de David vir qui sedeat super thronum domus Israël :
Jere KJV 33:17  For thus saith the Lord; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;
Jere DRC 33:18  Neither shall there be cut off from the priests and Levites a man before my face to offer holocausts, and to burn sacrifices, and to kill victims continually.
Jere KJV 33:18  Neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.
Jere DRC 33:19  And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying:
Jere VulgClem 33:19  Et factum est verbum Domini ad Jeremiam, dicens :
Jere KJV 33:19  And the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah, saying,
Jere DRC 33:20  Thus saith the Lord: if my covenant, with the day can be made void, and my covenant with the night, that there should not be day and night in their season:
Jere VulgClem 33:20  Hæc dicit Dominus : Si irritum potest fieri pactum meum cum die, et pactum meum cum nocte, ut non sit dies et nox in tempore suo,
Jere KJV 33:20  Thus saith the Lord; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;
Jere DRC 33:21  Also my covenant with David my servant may be made void, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne, and with the Levites and priests my ministers.
Jere KJV 33:21  Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.
Jere DRC 33:22  As the stars of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea be measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites my ministers.
Jere VulgClem 33:22  Sicuti enumerari non possunt stellæ cæli, et metiri arena maris, sic multiplicabo semen David servi mei, et Levitas ministros meos.
Jere KJV 33:22  As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.
Jere DRC 33:23  And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying:
Jere VulgClem 33:23  Et factum est verbum Domini ad Jeremiam, dicens :
Jere KJV 33:23  Moreover the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,
Jere DRC 33:24  Hast thou not seen what this people hath spoken, saying: The two families which the Lord had chosen, are cast off: and they have despised my people, so that it is no more a nation before them?
Jere KJV 33:24  Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the Lord hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.
Jere DRC 33:25  Thus saith the Lord. If I have not set my covenant between day and night, and laws to heaven and earth:
Jere VulgClem 33:25  Hæc dicit Dominus : Si pactum meum inter diem et noctem, et leges cælo et terræ non posui,
Jere KJV 33:25  Thus saith the Lord; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;
Jere DRC 33:26  Surely I will also cast off the seed of Jacob, and of David my servant, so as not to take any of his seed to be rulers of the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will bring back their captivity, and will have mercy on them.
Jere KJV 33:26  Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.
