Chapter 17
Wisd DRC 17:1  For thy judgments, O Lord, are great, and thy words cannot be expressed: therefore undisciplined souls have erred.
Wisd KJV 17:1
Wisd CzeCEP 17:1
Wisd CzeB21 17:1  Veliké jsou tvé soudy, Hospodine, a těžko vysvětlitelné; nepoučené duše proto zbloudily.
Wisd CzeCSP 17:1
Wisd CzeBKR 17:1
Wisd DRC 17:2  For while the wicked thought to be able to have dominion over the holy nation, they themselves being fettered with the bonds of darkness, and a long night, shut up in their houses, lay there exiled from the eternal providence.
Wisd KJV 17:2
Wisd CzeCEP 17:2
Wisd CzeB21 17:2  Bezbožníci si mysleli, že mají svatý národ v hrsti, sami však byli vězni temnot a zajatci dlouhé noci, leželi zamčeni pod svými střechami, vypovězeni od věčné prozřetelnosti.
Wisd CzeCSP 17:2
Wisd CzeBKR 17:2
Wisd VulgClem 17:2  Dum enim persuasum habent iniqui posse dominari nationi sanctæ, vinculis tenebrarum et longæ noctis compediti, inclusi sub tectis, fugitivi perpetuæ providentiæ jacuerunt.
Wisd DRC 17:3  And while they thought to lie hid in their obscure sins, they were scattered under a dark veil of forgetfullness, being horribly afraid, and troubled with exceeding great astonishment.
Wisd KJV 17:3
Wisd CzeCEP 17:3
Wisd CzeCSP 17:3
Wisd CzeBKR 17:3
Wisd VulgClem 17:3  Et dum putant se latere in obscuris peccatis, tenebroso oblivionis velamento dispersi sunt, paventes horrende, et cum admiratione nimia perturbati.
Wisd DRC 17:4  For neither did the den that held them, keep them from fear: for noises coming down troubled them, and sad visions appearing to them, affrighted them.
Wisd KJV 17:4
Wisd CzeCEP 17:4
Wisd CzeCSP 17:4
Wisd CzeBKR 17:4
Wisd VulgClem 17:4  Neque enim quæ continebat illos spelunca sine timore custodiebat, quoniam sonitus descendens perturbabat illos, et personæ tristes illis apparentes pavorem illis præstabant.
Wisd DRC 17:5  And no power of fire could give them light, neither could the bright flames of the stars enlighten that horrible night.
Wisd KJV 17:5
Wisd CzeCEP 17:5
Wisd CzeB21 17:5  Sebesilnější oheň nestačil, aby jim dal světlo, ani zářící pochodně hvězd nedokázaly prozářit onu hroznou noc.
Wisd CzeCSP 17:5
Wisd CzeBKR 17:5
Wisd VulgClem 17:5  Et ignis quidem nulla vis poterat illis lumen præbere, nec siderum limpidæ flammæ illuminare poterant illam noctem horrendam.
Wisd DRC 17:6  But there appeared to them a sudden fire, very dreadful: and being struck with the fear of that face, which was not seen, they thought the things which they saw to be worse:
Wisd KJV 17:6
Wisd CzeCEP 17:6
Wisd CzeB21 17:6  Svítil jim jen děsuplný samovznícený oheň a oni v té hrůze pokládali to, co viděli, za ještě horší než to, co vidět nemohli.
Wisd CzeCSP 17:6
Wisd CzeBKR 17:6
Wisd DRC 17:7  And the delusions of their magic art were put down, and their boasting of wisdom was reproachfully rebuked.
Wisd KJV 17:7
Wisd CzeCEP 17:7
Wisd CzeB21 17:7  Jejich kouzelnické čáry byly bezmocné a namyšlený rozum zůstal zahanben.
Wisd CzeCSP 17:7
Wisd CzeBKR 17:7
Wisd VulgClem 17:7  Et magicæ artis appositi erant derisus, et sapientiæ gloriæ correptio cum contumelia.
Wisd DRC 17:8  For they who promised to drive away fears and troubles from a sick soul, were sick themselves of a fear worthy to be laughed at.
Wisd KJV 17:8
Wisd CzeCEP 17:8
Wisd CzeB21 17:8  Neboť ty, kdo slibovali, že vypudí obavy a neklid z ochořelých duší, samotné ochromil směšný strach.
Wisd CzeCSP 17:8
Wisd CzeBKR 17:8
Wisd DRC 17:9  For though no terrible thing disturbed them: yet being scared with the passing by of beasts, and hissing of serpents, they died for fear and denying that they saw the air, which could by no means be avoided.
Wisd KJV 17:9
Wisd CzeCEP 17:9
Wisd CzeB21 17:9  I když je neděsilo nic hrozného, tolik se lekali lezoucí havěti a hadího syčení,
Wisd CzeCSP 17:9
Wisd CzeBKR 17:9
Wisd VulgClem 17:9  Nam etsi nihil illos ex monstris perturbabat, transitu animalium et serpentium sibilatione commoti, tremebundi peribant, et aërem quem nulla ratione quis effugere posset, negantes se videre.
Wisd DRC 17:10  For whereas wickedness is fearful, it beareth witness of its condemnation: for a troubled conscience always forecasteth grievous things.
Wisd KJV 17:10
Wisd CzeCEP 17:10
Wisd CzeB21 17:10  že umírali hrůzou a neodvážili se ani hledět do vzduchu, před kterým nelze nikam uniknout.
Wisd CzeCSP 17:10
Wisd CzeBKR 17:10
Wisd DRC 17:11  For fear is nothing else but a yielding up of the succours from thought.
Wisd KJV 17:11
Wisd CzeCEP 17:11
Wisd CzeB21 17:11  Špatnost je totiž zbabělá a odsuzuje sama sebe; tíživým svědomím si stále přidělává potíže.
Wisd CzeCSP 17:11
Wisd CzeBKR 17:11
Wisd DRC 17:12  And while there is less expectation from within, the greater doth it count the ignorance of that cause which bringeth the torment.
Wisd KJV 17:12
Wisd CzeCEP 17:12
Wisd CzeB21 17:12  Strach přece není nic než odmítnutí pomoci, kterou rozum nabízí.
Wisd CzeCSP 17:12
Wisd CzeBKR 17:12
Wisd DRC 17:13  But they that during that night, in which nothing could be done, and which came upon them from the lowest and deepest hell, slept the same sleep,
Wisd KJV 17:13
Wisd CzeCEP 17:13
Wisd CzeB21 17:13  Jak v lidském nitru slábne očekávání, tak roste mučivý strach z neznámé příčiny.
Wisd CzeCSP 17:13
Wisd CzeBKR 17:13
Wisd DRC 17:14  Were sometimes molested with the fear of monsters, sometimes fainted away, their soul failing them: for a sudden and unlooked for fear was come upon them.
Wisd KJV 17:14
Wisd CzeCEP 17:14
Wisd CzeCSP 17:14
Wisd CzeBKR 17:14
Wisd VulgClem 17:14  aliquando monstrorum exagitabantur timore, aliquando animæ deficiebant traductione : subitaneus enim illis et insperatus timor supervenerat.
Wisd DRC 17:15  Moreover, if any of them had fallen down, he was kept shut up in prison without irons.
Wisd KJV 17:15
Wisd CzeCEP 17:15
Wisd CzeB21 17:15  Tu je stíhaly obludné přízraky, tu zas byli ochromeni malomyslností, přepadeni náhlým a nečekaným zděšením.
Wisd CzeCSP 17:15
Wisd CzeBKR 17:15
Wisd VulgClem 17:15  Deinde si quisquam ex illis decidisset, custodiebatur in carcere sine ferro reclusus.
Wisd DRC 17:16  For if any one were a husbandman, or a shepherd, or a labourer in the field, and was suddenly overtaken, he endured a necessity from which he could not fly.
Wisd KJV 17:16
Wisd CzeCEP 17:16
Wisd CzeCSP 17:16
Wisd CzeBKR 17:16
Wisd VulgClem 17:16  Si enim rusticus quis erat, aut pastor, aut agri laborum operarius præoccupatus esset, ineffugibilem sustinebat necessitatem ;
Wisd DRC 17:17  For they were all bound together with one chain of darkness. Whether it were a whistling wind, or the melodious voice of birds, among the spreading branches of trees, or a fall of water running down with violence,
Wisd KJV 17:17
Wisd CzeCEP 17:17
Wisd CzeCSP 17:17
Wisd CzeBKR 17:17
Wisd DRC 17:18  Or the mighty noise of stones tumbling down, or the running that could not be seen of beasts playing together, or the roaring voice of wild beasts, or a rebounding echo from the highest mountains: these things made them to swoon for fear.
Wisd KJV 17:18
Wisd CzeCEP 17:18
Wisd CzeB21 17:18  Šum větru i libý zpěv ptáků v hustém větvoví, spád mohutného proudu vody
Wisd CzeCSP 17:18
Wisd CzeBKR 17:18
Wisd DRC 17:19  For the whole world was enlightened, with a clear light, and none were hindered in their labours.
Wisd KJV 17:19
Wisd CzeCEP 17:19
Wisd CzeB21 17:19  či hrubý rachot padajícího kamení, nevídaný běh hopsavé zvěře, ryk nejdravějších šelem či ozvěna v horských jeskyních – to vše je ochromovalo strachem.
Wisd CzeCSP 17:19
Wisd CzeBKR 17:19
Wisd DRC 17:20  But over them only was spread a heavy night, an image of that darkness which was to come upon them. But they were to themselves more grievous than the darkness.
Wisd KJV 17:20
Wisd CzeCEP 17:20
Wisd CzeB21 17:20  Celý svět byl ozařován zářivým světlem a setrvával v nerušeném díle,
Wisd CzeCSP 17:20
Wisd CzeBKR 17:20
Wisd VulgClem 17:20  Solis autem illis superposita erat gravis nox, imago tenebrarum quæ superventura illis erat : ipsi ergo sibi erant graviores tenebris.
Wisd DRC 17:21
Wisd KJV 17:21
Wisd CzeCEP 17:21
Wisd CzeCSP 17:21
Wisd CzeBKR 17:21
Wisd VulgClem 17:21
