18:1  Now Josaphat was rich and very glorious, and was joined by affinity to Achab.

18:2  Po několika letech sestoupil k Achabovi do Samaří. Achab pro něho i pro lid, který byl s ním dal porazit mnoho ovcí a koz i hovězího dobytka a pak se ho snažil zlákat k výpravě proti Rámotu v Gileádu.

18:2  Po několika letech Achaba navštívil v Samaří a ten pro něj a pro jeho doprovod porazil spoustu ovcí, koz a telat. Potom ho začal podněcovat k tažení proti Rámot-gileádu.

18:2  Po několika letech sestoupil k Achabovi do Samaří. Achab pro něj a pro lid, který byl s ním, zabil množství bravu a skotu a naváděl ho, aby vytáhl proti Rámot–gileádu.

18:2  And after [certain] years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that [he had] with him, and persuaded him to go up [with him] to Ramoth-gilead.

18:3  And Achab king of Israel said to Josaphat king of Juda: Come with me to Ramoth Galaad. And he answered him: Thou art as I am, and my people as thy people, and we will be with thee in the war.

18:3  Izraelský král Achab se zeptal judského krále Jóšafata: Půjdeš se mnou proti Rámot–gileádu? Ten mu odpověděl: Jsem jako ty a můj lid jako tvůj lid. Půjdu s tebou do války.

18:3  Nebo řekl Achab král Izraelský Jozafatovi králi Judskému: Potáhneš-li se mnou do Rámot Galád? Odpověděl jemu: Jakž jsem já, tak jsi ty, jako lid tvůj, tak lid můj, a s tebouť budu v tom boji.

18:3  And Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramoth-gilead? And he answered him, I [am] as thou [art], and my people as thy people; and [we will be] with thee in the war.

18:3  Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, "Will you go with me to Ramoth Gilead?" He answered him, "I am as you are, and my people as your people. We will be with you in the war."

18:4  And Josaphat said to the king of Israel: Inquire, I beseech thee, at present the word of the Lord.

18:4  Nato Jóšafat izraelskému králi řekl: „Dotaž se ještě dnes na slovo Hospodinovo.“

18:4  And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, Inquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to-day.

18:5  So the king of Israel gathered together of the prophets four hundred men, and he said to them: Shall we go to Ramoth Galaad to fight, or shall we forbear? But they said: Go up, and God will deliver into the king's hand.

18:5  Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramoth–gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king’s hand.

18:5  Izraelský král shromáždil proroky, čtyři sta mužů, a řekl jim: „Máme jít do války proti Rámotu v Gileádu, nebo mám od toho upustit?“ Odpověděli: „Jdi, Bůh jej vydá králi do rukou.“

18:5  Therefore the king of Israel collected of prophets four hundred men, and said to them, Shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver [it] into the king's hand.

18:5  Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them, "Shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?" They said, "Go up; for God will deliver it into the hand of the king."

18:6  And Josaphat said: Is there not here a prophet of the Lord, that we may inquire also of him?

18:6  Ale Jóšafat se zeptal: „Cožpak tu už není žádný prorok Hospodinův, abychom se dotázali skrze něho?“

18:7  And the king of Israel said to Josaphat: There is one man, of whom we may ask the will of the Lord: but I hate him, for he never prophesieth good to me, but always evil: and it is Micheas the son of Jemla. And Josaphat said: Speak not thus, O king.

18:7  And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may enquire of the Lord: but I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

18:7  Izraelský král Jóšafatovi odpověděl: „Je tu ještě jeden muž, skrze něhož bychom se mohli dotázat Hospodina, ale já ho nenávidím, protože mi neprorokuje nic dobrého, nýbrž po všechny dny jen zlo. Je to Míkajáš, syn Jimlův.“ Jóšafat řekl: „Nechť král tak nemluví!“

18:7  „Vlastně tu jeden takový je,“ řekl izraelský král. „Skrze něj se lze ptát Hospodina, ale já ho nesnáším, protože mi neprorokuje nic dobrého, jen samé neštěstí. Je to Michajáš, syn Jimlův.“ „Tak by král neměl mluvit,“ odpověděl Jošafat.

18:7  Izraelský král Jóšafatovi odpověděl: Ještě je tu jeden muž, skrze něhož je možno se dotázat Hospodina, ale já ho nenávidím, protože mi neprorokuje dobro, nýbrž po celou dobu zlo. Je to Míkajáš, syn Jimlův. Jóšafat řekl: Ať král takto nemluví.

18:7  Odpověděl král Izraelský Jozafatovi: Ještěť jest muž jeden, skrze něhož bys se mohl poraditi s Hospodinem, ale já ho nenávidím, proto že mi nikdy nic dobrého neprorokuje, ale vždycky zlé. Ten jest Micheáš syn Jemlův. Ale Jozafat řekl: Nechť tak nemluví král.

18:7  And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, [There is] yet one man, by whom we may inquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he never prophesieth good to me, but always evil: the same [is] Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

18:7  The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of the Lord; but I hate him, for he never prophesies good concerning me, but always evil. He is Micaiah the son of Imla." Jehoshaphat said, "Do not let the king say so."

18:8  And the king of Israel called one of the eunuchs, and said to him: Call quickly Micheas the son of Jemla.

18:8  Izraelský král tedy povolal jednoho dvořana a řekl: „Rychle přiveď Míkajáše, syna Jimlova.“

18:8  And the king of Israel called for one [of his] officers, and said, Bring quickly Micaiah the son of Imla.

18:9  Now the king of Israel, and Josaphat king of Juda, both sat on their thrones, clothed in royal robes, and they sat in the open court by the gate of Samaria, and all the prophets prophesied before them.

18:9  And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat either of them on his throne, clothed in their robes, and they sat in a void place at the entering in of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.

18:9  Král izraelský i Jóšafat, král judský, seděli každý na svém trůnu slavnostně oblečeni, seděli na humně u vchodu do samařské brány a všichni proroci před nimi prorokovali.

18:9  And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat each of them on his throne, clothed in [their] robes, and they sat in a void place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.

18:10  And Sedecias the son of Chanaana made him horns of iron, and said: Thus saith the Lord: With these shalt thou push Syria, till thou destroy it.

18:10  And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith the Lord, With these thou shalt push Syria until they be consumed.

18:10  Sidkijáš, syn Kenaanův, si udělal železné rohy a říkal: „Toto praví Hospodin: Jimi budeš trkat Arama, dokud neskoná.“

18:10  And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith the LORD, With these thou shalt push Syria until they shall be consumed.

18:10  Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron, and said, "Thus says the Lord, 'With these you shall push the Syrians, until they are consumed.'"

18:10  And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus said the LORD, With these you shall push Syria until they be consumed.

18:10  Sedecias vero filius Chanaana fecit sibi cornua ferrea, et ait : Hæc dicit Dominus : His ventilabis Syriam, donec conteras eam.

18:11  And all the prophets prophesied in like manner, and said: Go up to Ramoth Galaad, and thou shalt prosper, and the Lord will deliver them into the king's hand.

18:11  And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth–gilead, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.

18:11  Tak prorokovali všichni proroci: „Vytáhni proti Rámotu v Gileádu. Budeš mít úspěch. Hospodin jej vydá králi do rukou!“

18:11  And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and prosper: for the LORD will deliver [it] into the hand of the king.

18:12  And the messenger that went to call Micheas, said to him: Behold the words of all the prophets with one mouth declare good to the king: I beseech thee therefore let not thy word disagree with them, and speak thou also good success.

18:12  And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speak thou good.

18:12  Posel, který šel zavolat Míkajáše, mu domlouval: „Hle, slova proroků jedněmi ústy ohlašují králi dobré věci. Ať je tvá řeč jako řeč každého z nich, mluv o dobrých věcech!“

18:12  Posel, který šel pro Michajáše, mu říkal: „Podívej se, všichni proroci jako jeden muž předpovídají králi dobré věci. Raději mluv jako oni. Řekni mu něco dobrého.“

18:12  Posel, který šel Míkajášovi vstříc, mu řekl: Hle, proroci mluví jednomyslně dobro pro krále. Ať jsou tvoje slova jako řeč jednoho z nich. Mluv dobro.

18:12  V tom posel ten, kterýž šel, aby zavolal Micheáše, mluvil jemu, řka: Aj, řeči proroků těch jednostejné jsou a dobré před králem. Medle, buď řeč tvá, jako řeč kterého z nich, a mluv dobré věci.

18:12  And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets [declare] good to the king with one consent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speak thou good.

18:12  The messenger who went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, "Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth. Let your word therefore, please be like one of theirs, and speak good."

18:12  And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let your word therefore, I pray you, be like one of their's, and speak you good.

18:12  Nuntius autem qui ierat ad vocandum Michæam, ait illi : En verba omnium prophetarum uno ore bona regi annuntiant : quæso ergo te ut et sermo tuus ab eis non dissentiat, loquarisque prospera.

18:13  And Micheas answered him: As the Lord liveth, whatsoever my God shall say to me, that will I speak.

18:13  And Micaiah said, As the Lord liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak.

18:13  Míkajáš odpověděl: „Jakože živ je Hospodin, budu mluvit to, co řekne můj Bůh.“

18:13  And Micaiah said, [As] the LORD liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak.

18:13  And Micaiah said, As the LORD lives, even what my God said, that will I speak.

18:13  Cui respondit Michæas : Vivit Dominus, quia quodcumque dixerit mihi Deus meus, hoc loquar.

18:14  So he came to the king: and the king said to him: Micheas, shall we go to Ramoth Galaad to fight, or forbear? And he answered him: Go up, for all shall succeed prosperously, and the enemies shall be delivered into your hands.

18:14  And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth–gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand.

18:14  Když přišel ke králi, král mu řekl: „Míko, máme jít do války proti Rámotu v Gileádu, nebo mám od toho upustit?“ On odpověděl: „Vytáhněte, budete mít úspěch. Budou vám vydáni do rukou.“

18:14  And when he had come to the king, the king said to him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand.

18:15  And the king said: I adjure thee again and again to say nothing but the truth to me, in the name of the Lord.

18:15  And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the Lord?

18:15  Král ho okřikl: „Kolikrát tě mám zapřísahat, abys mi v Hospodinově jménu nemluvil nic než pravdu?“

18:31  So when the captains of the cavalry saw Josaphat, they said: This is the king of Israel. And they surrounded him to attack him: but he cried to the Lord, and he helped him, and turned them away from him.

18:31  And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the Lord helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.

18:31  I stalo se, když hejtmané nad vozy uzřeli Jozafata, řekli: Král Izraelský jest. Takž se obrátili proti němu, aby bojovali. Tedy zkřikl Jozafat, a Hospodin spomohl jemu, a odvrátil je Bůh od něho.

18:34  Ale boj se toho dne tak vystupňoval, že izraelský král musel zůstat na voze proti Aramejcům až do večera a v čas západu slunce zemřel.
