Chapter 79
Psal DRC 79:1  Unto the end, for them that shall be changed, a testimony for Asaph, a psalm.
Psal KJV 79:1  O God, the heathen are come into thine inheritance; thy holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps.
Psal VulgClem 79:1  In finem, pro iis qui commutabuntur. Testimonium Asaph, psalmus.
Psal DRC 79:2  Give ear, O thou that rulest Israel: thou that leadest Joseph like a sheep. Thou that sittest upon the cherubims, shine forth
Psal KJV 79:2  The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven, the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.

Psal DRC 79:3  Before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasses. Stir up thy might, and come to save us.
Psal KJV 79:3  Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; and there was none to bury them.
Psal VulgClem 79:3  coram Ephraim, Benjamin, et Manasse. Excita potentiam tuam, et veni, ut salvos facias nos.
Psal DRC 79:4  Convert us, O God: and shew us thy face, and we shall be saved.
Psal KJV 79:4  We are become a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us.
Psal VulgClem 79:4  Deus, converte nos, et ostende faciem tuam, et salvi erimus.
Psal DRC 79:5  O Lord God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy servant?
Psal KJV 79:5  How long, Lord? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire?
Psal VulgClem 79:5  Domine Deus virtutum, quousque irasceris super orationem servi tui ?
Psal DRC 79:6  How long wilt thou feed us with the bread of tears: and give us for our drink tears in measure?
Psal KJV 79:6  Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.
Psal VulgClem 79:6  cibabis nos pane lacrimarum, et potum dabis nobis in lacrimis in mensura ?
Psal DRC 79:7  Thou hast made us to be a contradiction to our neighbours: and our enemies have scoffed at us.
Psal KJV 79:7  For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling place.
Psal VulgClem 79:7  Posuisti nos in contradictionem vicinis nostris, et inimici nostri subsannaverunt nos.
Psal DRC 79:8  O God of hosts, convert us: and shew thy face, and we shall be saved.
Psal KJV 79:8  O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.
Psal VulgClem 79:8  Deus virtutum, converte nos, et ostende faciem tuam, et salvi erimus.
Psal DRC 79:9  Thou hast brought a vineyard out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the Gentiles and planted it.
Psal KJV 79:9  Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name’s sake.
Psal VulgClem 79:9  Vineam de Ægypto transtulisti : ejecisti gentes, et plantasti eam.
Psal DRC 79:10  Thou wast the guide of its journey in its sight: thou plantedst the roots thereof, and it filled the land.
Psal KJV 79:10  Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed.

Psal DRC 79:11  The shadow of it covered the hills: and the branches thereof the cedars of God.
Psal KJV 79:11  Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to die;

Psal DRC 79:12  It stretched forth its branches unto the sea, and its boughs unto the river.
Psal KJV 79:12  And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.
Psal VulgClem 79:12  Extendit palmites suos usque ad mare, et usque ad flumen propagines ejus.
Psal DRC 79:13  Why hast thou broken down the hedge thereof, so that all they who pass by the way do pluck it?
Psal KJV 79:13  So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations.
Psal VulgClem 79:13  Ut quid destruxisti maceriam ejus, et vindemiant eam omnes qui prætergrediuntur viam ?
Psal DRC 79:14  The boar out of the wood hath laid it waste: and a singular wild beast hath devoured it.

Psal DRC 79:15  Turn again, O God of hosts, look down from heaven, and see, and visit this vineyard:

Psal DRC 79:16  And perfect the same which thy right hand hath planted: and upon the son of man whom thou hast confirmed for thyself.

Psal VulgClem 79:16  et perfice eam quam plantavit dextera tua, et super filium hominis quem confirmasti tibi.
Psal DRC 79:17  Things set on fire and dug down shall perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.

Psal VulgClem 79:17  Incensa igni et suffossa, ab increpatione vultus tui peribunt.
Psal DRC 79:18  Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand: and upon the son of man whom thou hast confirmed for thyself.

Psal VulgClem 79:18  Fiat manus tua super virum dexteræ tuæ, et super filium hominis quem confirmasti tibi.
Psal DRC 79:19  And we depart not from thee, thou shalt quicken us: and we will call upon thy name.

Psal VulgClem 79:19  Et non discedimus a te : vivificabis nos, et nomen tuum invocabimus.
