Chapter 3
Acts Common 3:1  Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
Acts Common 3:2  And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they set down every day at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful to beg alms of those who entered the temple.
Acts Common 3:3  When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked for alms.
Acts Common 3:4  And Peter, along with John, directed his gaze at him, and said, "Look at us."
Acts Common 3:5  And he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.
Acts Common 3:6  But Peter said, "I do not have silver and gold, but I give you what I have; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk."
Acts Common 3:7  And taking him by the right hand, he raised him up; and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong.
Acts Common 3:8  With a leap he stood upright and began to walk; and he entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.
Acts Common 3:9  And all the people saw him walking and praising God,
Acts Common 3:10  and they recognized him as the one who used to sit at the Beautiful Gate of the temple to beg alms, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
Acts Common 3:11  While he clung to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch called Solomon’s, astounded.
Acts Common 3:12  And when Peter saw this he addressed the people, "Men of Israel, why do you wonder at this, or why do you stare at us, as if by our own power or piety we had made him walk?
Acts Common 3:13  The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus, the one whom you delivered and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release him.
Acts Common 3:14  But you disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,
Acts Common 3:15  but killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses.
Acts Common 3:16  And his name, by faith in his name, has made this man strong whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Jesus has given him perfect health in the presence of you all.
Acts Common 3:17  And now, brethren, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did also your rulers.
Acts Common 3:18  But what God foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ would suffer, he thus fulfilled.
Acts Common 3:19  Repent therefore, and turn again, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
Acts Common 3:20  and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus,
Acts Common 3:21  whom heaven must receive until the time for establishing all that God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from long ago.
Acts Common 3:22  Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brethren; you shall listen to everything he tells you.
Acts Common 3:23  And it shall be that every soul that does not listen to that prophet will be destroyed from among the people.’
Acts Common 3:24  And likewise, all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and those who came afterwards, also announced these days.
Acts Common 3:25  You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’
Acts Common 3:26  For you first, God raised up his servant and sent him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways."
