RKJNT - John - 2

2:1  On the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:

2:2  And both Jesus and his disciples were invited to the marriage.

2:3  And when the wine gave out, the mother of Jesus said to him, They have no wine.

2:4  Jesus said to her, Woman, what have I to do with you? my hour has not yet come.

2:5  His mother said to the servants, Whatever he says to you, do it.

2:6  Now there were six waterpots of stone set there, for the Jewish custom of purification, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece.

2:7  Jesus said to them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

2:8  And he said to them, Now draw some out, and take it to the steward of the feast. So they took it.

2:9  When the steward of the feast tasted the water that had become wine, and did not know where it came from: (but the servants who drew the water knew;) the steward of the feast called the bridegroom,

2:10  And said to him, Every man serves the good wine at the beginning; and when men have drunk freely, then that which is worse: but you have kept the good wine until now.

2:11  This, the beginning of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

2:12  After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brothers, and his disciples: and they stayed there not many days.

2:13  And the passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,

2:14  And found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting there:

2:15  And when he had made a whip of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep, and the oxen; and he poured out the changers' money, and overturned their tables;

2:16  And said to those who sold doves, Take these things away; do not make my Father's house a house of merchandise.

2:17  And his disciples remembered that it was written, Zeal for your house will consume me.

2:18  Then the Jews answered and said to him, What sign do you show us, seeing that you do these things?

2:19  Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

2:20  Then the Jews said, It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?

2:21  But he spoke of the temple of his body.

2:22  Therefore, when he had risen from the dead, his disciples remembered he had said this to them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had spoken.

2:23  Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, during the feast, many believed in his name, when they saw the miraculous signs which he did.

2:24  But Jesus did not entrust himself to them, because he knew all men,

2:25  And needed no one to testify about man: for he himself knew what was in man.
