18:1  In those days there was no king in Israel, and the tribe of Dan sought them an inheritance to dwell in: for unto that day they had not received their lot among the other tribes.

18:1  V oněch dnech neměli v Izraeli krále. Kmen Danovců si tehdy hledal dědičný podíl, aby se mohl usadit, protože mu až po onen den nepřipadl mezi izraelskými kmeny žádný dědičný podíl.

18:1  Izrael byl tenkrát bez krále. Danův kmen si hledal území, na němž by se usídlil, protože mu do té doby mezi izraelskými kmeny nepřipadl žádný dědičný podíl.

18:1  V oněch dnech nebyl v Izraeli král. A v oněch dnech pro sebe danovský kmen hledal dědictví, aby se usídlil, protože mu až do onoho dne nepřipadlo mezi izraelskými kmeny nic do dědictví.

18:2  So the children of Dan sent five most valiant men, of their stock and family, from Saraa and Esthaol, to spy out the land, and to view it diligently: and they said to them: Go, and view the land. They went on their way, and when they came to mount Ephraim, they went into the house of Michas, and rested there:

18:2  Danovci tedy vyslali ze své čeledi pět mužů, chrabrých bojovníků, ze svých končin, ze Soreje a Eštaólu, aby jako zvědové prozkoumali zemi. Poručili jim: „Jděte prozkoumat zemi.“ I přišli na Efrajimské pohoří až k Míkovu domu a přenocovali tam.

18:2  Synové Danovi proto ze svého rodu vyslali pět udatných mužů z Coreje a Eštaolu, aby prozkoumali a obhlédli zem. Řekli jim: „Jděte obhlédnout zem.“ Dorazili až do Efraimských hor, k Míkovu domu, a tak tam přenocovali.

18:2  Synové Danovi tedy poslali pět mužů ze své čeledi, bojovníků ze svých končin ze Soreje a z Eštaólu, aby prozkoumali zemi a aby ji důkladně prohlédli. Řekli jim: Jděte a důkladně prohlédněte tu zemi. Přišli do efrajimského pohoří až k Míkovu domu a nocovali tam.

18:2  Tedy poslali synové Dan z čeledi své pět mužů z končin svých, mužů silných z Zaraha a Estaol, aby spatřili zemi a pilně prohlédli ji, a řekli jim: Jděte, shlédněte zemi. Kteřížto když přišli na horu Efraim až do domu Míchova, přenocovali tam.

18:2  And the children of Dan sent of their family five men from their borders, men of valor, from Zorah, and from Eshtaol, to explore the land, and to search it; and they said to them, Go, search the land: who when they came to mount Ephraim, to the house of Micah, they lodged there.

18:3  And knowing the voice of the young man the Levite, and lodging with him, they said to him: Who brought thee hither? what dost thou here? why wouldst thou come hither?

18:3  When they were by the house of Micah, they knew the voice of the young man the Levite: and they turned in thither, and said unto him, Who brought thee hither? and what makest thou in this place? and what hast thou here?

18:3  Když byli u Míkova domu, poznali po řeči lévijského mládence. Odbočili tam a zeptali se ho: „Kdo tě sem přivedl? Co tady děláš? Co tu pohledáváš?“

18:3  Když k tomu domu přišli blíž, poznali po hlase toho levitského mladíka. Zašli tedy dovnitř a ptali se ho: „Jak ses sem dostal? Co tu děláš? Proč tu jsi?“

18:3  Když byli u Míkova domu, všimli si hlasu toho lévijského mládence. Zašli tam a zeptali se ho: Kdo tě sem přivedl? Co tady děláš? Co to tu máš?

18:3  Když pak byli blízko domu Míchova, poznali hlas toho mládence Levíty, a uchýlivše se tam, řekli jemu: Kdo tě sem přivedl? Co ty zde děláš? A co ty zde máš?

18:3  When they [were] by the house of Micah, they knew the voice of the young man the Levite: and they turned in thither, and said to him, Who brought thee hither? and what makest thou in this [place]? and what hast thou here?

18:3  When they were by the house of Micah, they knew the voice of the young man the Levite; and they turned in that direction, and said to him, "Who brought you here? What are you doing in this place? And what is your business here?"

18:4  He answered them: Michas hath done such and such things for me, and hath hired me to be his priest.

18:4  And he said unto them, Thus and thus dealeth Micah with me, and hath hired me, and I am his priest.

18:4  Odpověděl jim: „Tak a tak to se mnou vyjednal Míka. Najal mě, abych mu sloužil jako kněz.“

18:5  Then they desired him to consult the Lord, that they might know whether their journey should be prosperous, and the thing should have effect.

18:5  And they said unto him, Ask counsel, we pray thee, of God, that we may know whether our way which we go shall be prosperous.

18:5  Poprosili ho: „Doptej se teď Boha, abychom věděli, zdaří-li se nám cesta, na kterou jsme se vydali.“

18:5  And they said to him, Ask counsel, we pray thee, of God, that we may know whether our way which we go shall be prosperous.

18:6  He answered them: Go in peace: the Lord looketh on your way, and the journey that you go.

18:7  So the five men going on came to Lais: and they saw how the people dwelt therein without any fear, according to the custom of the Sidonians, secure and easy, having no man at all to oppose them, being very rich, and living separated, at a distance from Sidon and from all men.

18:7  Then the five men departed, and came to Laish, and saw the people that were therein, how they dwelt careless, after the manner of the Zidonians, quiet and secure; and there was no magistrate in the land, that might put them to shame in any thing; and they were far from the Zidonians, and had no business with any man.

18:7  Těch pět mužů tedy šlo dál, až přišli do Lajiše. Spatřili město žijící si v bezpečí po způsobu Sidónců a v něm klidný a bezstarostný lid. Nebylo v zemi nikoho, kdo by je potupil, nebylo uchvatitele moci. Od Sidónců byli daleko a s nikým neměli žádnou dohodu.

18:7  A tak těch pět mužů šlo dál, až přišli do Laiše. Viděli, že tamní lid žije v bezpečí jako Sidonci, v klidu a bezstarostně, a že je nikdo v celém okolí nenapadá a neutiskuje. Od Sidonu byli daleko a s nikým neměli dohodu.

18:7  Těch pět mužů šlo, přišli do Lajiše a viděli lid, který v něm byl poklidný, bydlel v bezpečí po způsobu Sidónců a byl bezstarostný. Nikdo v zemi nepotupoval úmluvu, nezískával vlastnictví mocí. Byli daleko od Sidónců a neměli s nikým úmluvu.

18:7  Tedy odešlo pět mužů těch, a přišli do Lais, a viděli lid, kterýž tam byl, bezpečně bydlící, vedlé obyčeje Sidonských v zahálce a bezpečnosti, a že nebylo, co by je kormoutiti mělo v té zemi, ani kdo by dědičně ujíti chtěl království. K tomu i od Sidonských vzdáleni byli, aniž spříznění jaké s kým měli.

18:7  Then the five men departed, and came to Laish, and saw the people that [were] in it, how they dwelt careless, after the manner of the Zidonians, quiet and secure; and [there was] no magistrate in the land, that might put [them] to shame in [any] thing; and they [were] far from the Zidonians, and had no business with [any] man.

18:7  Then the five men departed, and came to Laish, and saw the people who were there, and how they lived in security, after the manner of the Sidonians, quiet and secure; for there was no one in the land possessing authority that might trouble them in anyway, and they were far from the Sidonians, and had no dealings with anyone.

18:7  Euntes igitur quinque viri venerunt Lais : videruntque populum habitantem in ea absque ullo timore, juxta consuetudinem Sidoniorum, securum et quietum, nullo ei penitus resistente, magnarumque opum, et procul a Sidone atque a cunctis hominibus separatum.

18:8  And they returned to their brethren in Saraa and Esthaol, who asked them what they had done: to whom they answered:

18:8  And they came unto their brethren to Zorah and Eshtaol: and their brethren said unto them, What say ye?

18:9  Arise, and let us go up to them: for we have seen the land which is exceeding rich and fruitful: neglect not, lose no time: let us go and possess it, there will be no difficulty.

18:9  And they said, Arise, that we may go up against them: for we have seen the land, and, behold, it is very good: and are ye still? be not slothful to go, and to enter to possess the land.

18:9  Odpověděli: „Vzhůru, vytáhněme proti nim! Viděli jsme tu zemi, je velmi dobrá. Vy otálíte? Nerozpakujte se tam vtrhnout a tu zemi obsadit.

18:9  „Zvedejte se, pojďme na ně!“ odpověděli. „Viděli jsme tu zem – je výborná! To tu chcete jen tak sedět? Nezdržujte se a pojďte, půjdeme tu zem obsadit!

18:9  Odpověděli: Vstaňte a vytáhneme proti nim, protože jsme viděli tu zemi a hle, je velmi dobrá, ale vy jste neteční. Nebuďte líní jít, vstoupit do té země a obsadit ji.

18:9  I odpověděli: Vstaňte a táhněme na ně, nebo shlédli jsme tu zemi, a aj, velmi dobrá jest; a vy mlčíte? Nelenujtež se táhnouti, a vjíti k opanování té země.

18:9  And they said, Arise, that we may go up against them: for we have seen the land, and behold, it [is] very good: and [are] ye still? be not slothful to go, [and] to enter to possess the land.

18:9  They said, "Arise, and let us go up against them; for we have seen the land, and behold, it is very good. Will you do nothing? Do not hesitate to go and to enter in to possess the land.

18:9  Surgite, ascendamus ad eos : vidimus enim terram valde opulentam et uberem. Nolite negligere, nolite cessare : eamus, et possideamus eam : nullus erit labor.

18:10  We shall come to a people that is secure, into a spacious country, and the Lord will deliver the place to us, in which there is no want of any thing that groweth on the earth.

18:10  When ye go, ye shall come unto a people secure, and to a large land: for God hath given it into your hands; a place where there is no want of any thing that is in the earth.

18:10  Přijdete tam k bezstarostnému lidu. Země je na všechny strany otevřená, Bůh vám ji vydal do rukou. Je to místo, kde není nedostatek v ničem, co může země dát.“

18:10  Bůh vám ji dává do rukou! Až tam přijdete, najdete bezstarostný lid a doširoka otevřenou zem. Tomu místu neschází vůbec nic, co má země mít.“

18:10  Až vytáhnete, přijdete k bezstarostnému lidu a země je rozlehlá na všechny strany, vždyť Bůh ji vydal do vaší ruky -- místo, kde není nouze vůbec v ničem, co bývá na zemi.

18:10  (Když přijdete, vejdete k lidu bezpečnému, a do země prostranné;) nebo dal ji Bůh v ruku vaši, místo, v němž není žádného nedostatku jakýchkoli věcí, kteréž na zemi býti mohou.

18:12  Táhli vzhůru a utábořili se v Kirjat-jearímu v Judsku. Proto se to místo nazývá Danovský tábor až dodnes; je za Kirjat-jearímem.

18:12  Táhli vzhůru a utábořili se v Kiriat-jearimu v Judsku. (Proto se tomu místu západně od Kiriat-jearimu dodnes říká Machane-dan, Danův tábor.)

18:12  Vytáhli a utábořili se u Kirjat–jearímu v Judsku. Kvůli tomu nazvali ono místo Danovský tábor a je tomu tak až do tohoto dne. Všimněte si ho za Kirjat–jearímem.

18:12  A vytáhše, položili se u Kariatjeharim Judova; pročež nazvali to místo Mahane Dan až do dnešního dne, a jest za Kariatjeharim.

18:14  Then answered the five men that went to spy out the country of Laish, and said unto their brethren, Do ye know that there is in these houses an ephod, and teraphim, and a graven image, and a molten image? now therefore consider what ye have to do.

18:14  Tu promluvilo těch pět mužů, kteří jako zvědové prošli lajišskou zemi. Řekli svým bratřím: „Zdalipak víte, že v těchto domech je efód a domácí bůžci i socha tesaná a litá? Teď víte, co máte udělat.“

18:14  Vtom se ozvalo těch pět mužů, kteří propátrali kraj Laiš. „Víte, co je tamhle v těch domech?“ řekli svým bratrům. „Efod, bůžkové a odlitá modla! Víte, co teď máte dělat.“

18:14  Tu promluvilo těch pět mužů, kteří se vydali prozkoumat zemi Lajiš. Řekli svým bratrům: Zdalipak víte, že je v těchto domech efód, domácí bůžek a tesaná a litá modla? Nuže, rozvažte, co provedete.

18:14  I mluvilo těch pět mužů, kteříž chodili k shlédnutí země Lais, a řekli bratřím svým: Víte-liž, že v domích těchto jest efod a terafim, a rytina a slitina? Protož nyní vězte, co máte činiti.

18:14  Then answered the five men that went to explore the country of Laish, and said to their brethren, Do ye know that there is in these houses an ephod, and teraphim, and a graven image, and a molten image? now therefore consider what ye have to do.

18:15  And when they had turned a little aside, they went into the house of the young man the Levite, who was in the house of Michas: and they saluted him with words of peace.
