Chapter 4
Matt Murdock 4:1  Then was Jesus led by the Holy Spirit into the desert, to be tempted by the Calumniator
Matt Murdock 4:2  And he fasted forty days and forty nights, and afterward he hungered.
Matt Murdock 4:3  And the Tempter came, and said to him: If thou art the Son of God, command these stones to become bread.
Matt Murdock 4:4  But he replied, and said: It is written, that not by bread only, doth man live; but by every word proceeding from the mouth of God.
Matt Murdock 4:5  Then the Calumniator took him to the holy city, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple,
Matt Murdock 4:6  and said to him: If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, that he will give his angels charge of thee, and in their hands will they sustain thee, lest thou strike thy foot against a stone.
Matt Murdock 4:7  Jesus said to him: It is moreover written, that thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Matt Murdock 4:8  Again the Calumniator took him to a mountain that was very high, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory;
Matt Murdock 4:9  and said to him: All these will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
Matt Murdock 4:10  Then Jesus said to him: Begone, Satan ; for it is written, that thou shalt worship the Lord, thy God; and him only shalt thou serve.
Matt Murdock 4:11  Then the Calumniator left him: and lo, angels came, and ministered to him.
Matt Murdock 4:12  And when Jesus had heard that John was delivered up, he retired to Galilee.
Matt Murdock 4:13  And he left Nazareth, and came and dwelt in Capernaum, by the side of the sea, on the confines of Zebulon and Naphthali.
Matt Murdock 4:14  That so might be fulfilled that which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, who said:
Matt Murdock 4:15  The land of Zebulon, the land of Naphthali, the way of the sea, the ford of Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
Matt Murdock 4:16  the people that sat in darkness, have seen great light; and to them who sat in the region and shadow of death, light is arisen.
Matt Murdock 4:17  From that time began Jesus to proclaim and say: Repent; for the kingdom of heaven hath approached.
Matt Murdock 4:18  And as he walked on the shore of the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Cephas, and Andrew his brother, who were casting nets into the sea; for they were fishermen.
Matt Murdock 4:19  And Jesus said to them: Follow me; and I will cause you to become fishers of men.
Matt Murdock 4:20  And immediately, they left their nets, and went after him.
Matt Murdock 4:21  And as he passed on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, who were mending their nets. And Jesus called them.
Matt Murdock 4:22  And they immediately left the ship and their father, and went after him.
Matt Murdock 4:23  And Jesus traveled over all Galilee. and he taught in their synagogues and proclaimed the tidings of the kingdom; and he cured every disease and malady among the people.
Matt Murdock 4:24  And his fame spread through all Syria. And they brought to him all them that were very sick with diverse diseases, and them that were afflicted with pains, and demoniacs, and lunatics and paralytics; and he healed them.
Matt Murdock 4:25  And there followed him great multitudes from Galilee, and from the Ten Cities, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond the Jordan.
