REVELATION OF JOHN
Chapter 2
Reve | Worsley | 2:1 | To the angel of the church at Ephesus write, These things saith He that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
Reve | Worsley | 2:2 | I know thy works, and thy labor, and thy patience, and that thou canst not bear those that are evil: and thou hast tried those who say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars; and hast borne trouble, and hast patience;
Reve | Worsley | 2:5 | Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works: else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of its place, if thou repent not.
Reve | Worsley | 2:6 | But this thou hast, that thou hatest the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
Reve | Worsley | 2:7 | Let him, that hath an ear, hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Reve | Worsley | 2:8 | And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write, These things saith the First and the Last, who was dead and is alive;
Reve | Worsley | 2:9 | I know thy works and affliction and poverty (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of those that say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
Reve | Worsley | 2:10 | Fear none of the things which thou wilt suffer: behold the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall suffer affliction ten days. Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
Reve | Worsley | 2:11 | Let him, that hath an ear, hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. He, that overcometh, shall not be hurt by the second death.
Reve | Worsley | 2:12 | And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write, These things saith He, who hath the sharp two-edged sword;
Reve | Worsley | 2:13 | I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and yet thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr; who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
Reve | Worsley | 2:14 | But I have a few things against thee; for thou hast there those that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumbling-block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit fornication.
Reve | Worsley | 2:15 | So thou hast also them that hold the like doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which I hate.
Reve | Worsley | 2:16 | Repent therefore---if not, I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword that goeth out of my mouth.
Reve | Worsley | 2:17 | Let him, that hath an ear, hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna: and I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written, which no one knoweth, but He that receiveth it.
Reve | Worsley | 2:18 | And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, These things saith the Son of God, who hath eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet like fine brass; I know thy works,
Reve | Worsley | 2:19 | and thy love, and thy service, and thy faith, and thy patience, and that thy last works are more than the first.
Reve | Worsley | 2:20 | But I have a few things against thee; because thou sufferest the woman Jezabel, who saith that she is a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication and to eat things sacrificed to idols.
Reve | Worsley | 2:22 | Behold I will cast her into a bed, and those that commit whoredom with her, into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds:
Reve | Worsley | 2:23 | and I will cut off her children by death; and all the churches shall know, that I am He who searcheth the reins and hearts, and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
Reve | Worsley | 2:24 | But to you I say, to the rest in Thyatira, As many as do not hold this doctrine, and who are unacquainted with the depths of Satan, as they speak, I will lay on you no other burden:
Reve | Worsley | 2:26 | And to him that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, will I give power over the nations:
Reve | Worsley | 2:27 | and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken in pieces; as I also have received of my Father;
