Exod DRC 14:1  And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
Exod VulgClem 14:1  Locutus est autem Dominus ad Moysen, dicens :
Exod KJV 14:1  And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
Exod DRC 14:2  Speak to the children of Israel: Let them turn and encamp over against Phihahiroth, which is between Magdal and the sea over against Beelsephon: you shall encamp before it upon the sea.
Exod VulgClem 14:2  Loquere filiis Israël : Reversi castrametentur e regione Phihahiroth, quæ est inter Magdalum et mare contra Beelsephon : in conspectu ejus castra ponetis super mare.
Exod KJV 14:2  Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pi–hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baal–zephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.
Exod DRC 14:3  And Pharao will say of the children of Israel: They are straitened in the land, the desert hath shut them in.
Exod VulgClem 14:3  Dicturusque est Pharao super filiis Israël : Coarctati sunt in terra ; conclusit eos desertum.
Exod KJV 14:3  For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.
Exod DRC 14:4  And I shall harden his heart and he will pursue you: and I shall be glorified in Pharao, and in all his army: and the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord. And they did so.
Exod VulgClem 14:4  Et indurabo cor ejus, ac persequetur vos : et glorificabor in Pharaone, et in omni exercitu ejus ; scientque Ægyptii quia ego sum Dominus. Feceruntque ita.
Exod KJV 14:4  And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord. And they did so.
Exod DRC 14:5  And it was told the king of the Egyptians that the people was fled: and the heart of Pharao and of his servants was changed with regard to the people, and they said: What meant we to do, that we let Israel go from serving us?
Exod KJV 14:5  And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?
Exod DRC 14:6  So he made ready his chariot, and took all his people with him.
Exod VulgClem 14:6  Junxit ergo currum, et omnem populum suum assumpsit secum.
Exod KJV 14:6  And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him:
Exod DRC 14:7  And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots that were in Egypt: and the captains of the whole army.
Exod VulgClem 14:7  Tulitque sexcentos currus electos, et quidquid in Ægypto curruum fuit : et duces totius exercitus.
Exod KJV 14:7  And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.
Exod DRC 14:8  And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharao, king of Egypt, and he pursued the children of Israel; but they were gone forth in a mighty hand.
Exod KJV 14:8  And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.
Exod DRC 14:9  And when the Egyptians followed the steps of them who were gone before, they found them encamped at the sea side: all Pharao's horse and chariots and the whole army were in Phihahiroth, before Beelsephon.
Exod VulgClem 14:9  Cumque persequerentur Ægyptii vestigia præcedentium, repererunt eos in castris super mare : omnis equitatus et currus Pharaonis, et universus exercitus, erant in Phihahiroth contra Beelsephon.
Exod KJV 14:9  But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pi–hahiroth, before Baal–zephon.
Exod DRC 14:10  And when Pharao drew near, the children of Israel lifting up their eyes, saw the Egyptians behind them: and they feared exceedingly, and cried to the Lord.
Exod VulgClem 14:10  Cumque appropinquasset Pharao, levantes filii Israël oculos, viderunt Ægyptios post se, et timuerunt valde : clamaveruntque ad Dominum,
Exod KJV 14:10  And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the Lord.
Exod DRC 14:11  And they said to Moses: Perhaps there were no graves in Egypt, therefore thou hast brought us to die in the wilderness: why wouldst thou do this, to lead us out of Egypt?
Exod KJV 14:11  And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?
Exod DRC 14:12  Is not this the word that we spoke to thee in Egypt, saying: Depart from us, that we may serve the Egyptians? for it was much better to serve them, than to die in the wilderness.
Exod KJV 14:12  Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.
Exod DRC 14:13  And Moses said to the people: Fear not: stand, and see the great wonders of the Lord, which he will do this day; for the Egyptians, whom you see now, you shall see no more for ever.
Exod VulgClem 14:13  Et ait Moyses ad populum : Nolite timere : state, et videte magnalia Domini quæ facturus est hodie : Ægyptios enim, quos nunc videtis, nequaquam ultra videbitis usque in sempiternum.
Exod KJV 14:13  And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

Exod DRC 14:15  And the Lord said to Moses: Why criest thou to me? Speak to the children of Israel to go forward.
Exod KJV 14:15  And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:
Exod DRC 14:16  But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch forth thy hand over the sea, and divide it: that the children of Israel may go through the midst of the sea on dry ground.
Exod KJV 14:16  But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

Exod VulgClem 14:18  Et scient Ægyptii quia ego sum Dominus cum glorificatus fuero in Pharaone, et in curribus atque in equitibus ejus.
Exod KJV 14:18  And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I have gotten me honour upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.
Exod DRC 14:19  And the angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, removing, went behind them: and together with him the pillar of the cloud, leaving the forepart,
Exod VulgClem 14:19  Tollensque se angelus Dei, qui præcedebat castra Israël, abiit post eos : et cum eo pariter columna nubis, priora dimittens, post tergum
Exod KJV 14:19  And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:
Exod DRC 14:20  Stood behind, between the Egyptians' camp and the camp of Israel: and it was a dark cloud, and enlightening the night, so that they could not come at one another all the night.
Exod KJV 14:20  And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.
Exod DRC 14:21  And when Moses had stretched forth his hand over the sea, the Lord took it away by a strong and burning wind blowing all the night, and turned it into dry ground: and the water was divided.
Exod VulgClem 14:21  Cumque extendisset Moyses manum super mare, abstulit illud Dominus flante vento vehementi et urente tota nocte, et vertit in siccum : divisaque est aqua.
Exod KJV 14:21  And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
Exod DRC 14:22  And the children of Israel went in through the midst of the sea dried up; for the water was as a wall on their right hand and on their left.
Exod KJV 14:22  And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
Exod DRC 14:23  And the Egyptians pursuing went in after them, and all Pharao's horses, his chariots and horsemen, through the midst of the sea.
Exod KJV 14:23  And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

Exod DRC 14:25  And overthrew the wheels of the chariots, and they were carried into the deep. And the Egyptians said: Let us flee from Israel; for the Lord fighteth for them against us.
Exod VulgClem 14:25  et subvertit rotas curruum, ferebanturque in profundum.
Exod KJV 14:25  And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the Lord fighteth for them against the Egyptians.

Exod KJV 14:28  And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.
Exod DRC 14:29  But the children of Israel marched through the midst of the sea upon dry land, and the waters were to them as a wall on the right hand and on the left:
Exod VulgClem 14:29  Filii autem Israël perrexerunt per medium sicci maris, et aquæ eis erant quasi pro muro a dextris et a sinistris :
Exod KJV 14:29  But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
