Chapter 9
Hebr DRC 9:1  The former indeed had also justifications of divine service and a sanctuary.
Hebr KJV 9:1  Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
Hebr VulgClem 9:1  Habuit quidem et prius justificationes culturæ, et Sanctum sæculare.
Hebr DRC 9:2  For there was a tabernacle made the first, wherein were the candlesticks and the table and the setting forth of loaves, which is called the Holy.
Hebr KJV 9:2  For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
Hebr DRC 9:3  And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holy of Holies:
Hebr KJV 9:3  And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
Hebr DRC 9:4  Having a golden censer and the ark of the testament covered about on every part with gold, in which was a golden pot that had manna and the rod of Aaron that had blossomed and the tables of the testament.
Hebr KJV 9:4  Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
Hebr VulgClem 9:4  aureum habens thuribulum, et arcam testamenti circumtectam ex omni parte auro, in qua urna aurea habens manna, et virga Aaron, quæ fronduerat, et tabulæ testamenti,
Hebr DRC 9:5  And over it were the cherubims of glory overshadowing the propitiatory: of which it is not needful to speak now particularly.
Hebr KJV 9:5  And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.
Hebr DRC 9:6  Now these things being thus ordered, into the first tabernacle, the priests indeed always entered, accomplishing the offices of sacrifices.
Hebr KJV 9:6  Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.
Hebr VulgClem 9:6  His vero ita compositis, in priori quidem tabernaculo semper introibant sacerdotes, sacrificiorum officia consummantes :
Hebr DRC 9:7  But into the second, the high priest alone, once a year: not without blood, which he offereth for his own and the people's ignorance:
Hebr KJV 9:7  But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
Hebr VulgClem 9:7  in secundo autem semel in anno solus pontifex non sine sanguine, quem offert pro sua et populi ignorantia :
Hebr DRC 9:8  The Holy Ghost signifying this: That the way into the Holies was not yet made manifest, whilst the former tabernacle was yet standing.
Hebr KJV 9:8  The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
Hebr VulgClem 9:8  hoc significante Spiritu Sancto, nondum propalatam esse sanctorum viam, adhuc priore tabernaculo habente statum :
Hebr DRC 9:9  Which is a parable of the time present: according to which gifts and sacrifices are offered, which cannot, as to the conscience, make him perfect that serveth, only in meats and in drinks,
Hebr KJV 9:9  Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
Hebr DRC 9:10  And divers washings and justices of the flesh laid on them until the time of correction.
Hebr KJV 9:10  Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.
Hebr DRC 9:11  But Christ, being come an high Priest of the good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hand, that is, not of this creation:
Hebr KJV 9:11  But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
Hebr DRC 9:12  Neither by the blood of goats or of calves, but by his own blood, entered once into the Holies, having obtained eternal redemption.
Hebr KJV 9:12  Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Hebr DRC 9:13  For if the blood of goats and of oxen, and the ashes of an heifer, being sprinkled, sanctify such as are defiled, to the cleansing of the flesh:
Hebr KJV 9:13  For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
Hebr VulgClem 9:13  Si enim sanguis hircorum et taurorum, et cinis vitulæ aspersus inquinatos sanctificat ad emundationem carnis :
Hebr DRC 9:14  How much more shall the blood of Christ, who by the Holy Ghost offered himself unspotted unto God, cleanse our conscience from dead works, to serve the living God?
Hebr KJV 9:14  How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Hebr DRC 9:15  And therefore he is the mediator of the new testament: that by means of his death for the redemption of those transgressions which were under the former testament, they that are called may receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Hebr KJV 9:15  And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Hebr VulgClem 9:15  Et ideo novi testamenti mediator est : ut morte intercedente, in redemptionem earum prævaricationum, quæ erant sub priori testamento, repromissionem accipiant qui vocati sunt æternæ hæreditatis.
Hebr DRC 9:16  For where there is a testament the death of the testator must of necessity come in.
Hebr KJV 9:16  For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
Hebr DRC 9:17  For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is as yet of no strength, whilst the testator liveth.
Hebr KJV 9:17  For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
Hebr DRC 9:18  Whereupon neither was the first indeed dedicated without blood.
Hebr KJV 9:18  Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
Hebr DRC 9:19  For when every commandment of the law had been read by Moses to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people.
Hebr KJV 9:19  For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
Hebr DRC 9:20  Saying: This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
Hebr KJV 9:20  Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
Hebr DRC 9:21  The tabernacle also and all the vessels of the ministry, in like manner, he sprinkled with blood.
Hebr KJV 9:21  Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.
Hebr VulgClem 9:21  Etiam tabernaculum et omnia vasa ministerii sanguine similiter aspersit.
Hebr DRC 9:22  And almost all things, according to the law, are cleansed with blood: and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
Hebr KJV 9:22  And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Hebr VulgClem 9:22  Et omnia pene in sanguine secundum legem mundantur : et sine sanguinis effusione non fit remissio.
Hebr DRC 9:23  It is necessary therefore that the patterns of heavenly things should be cleansed with these: but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
Hebr KJV 9:23  It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
Hebr DRC 9:24  For Jesus is not entered into the Holies made with hands, the patterns of the true: but into Heaven itself, that he may appear now in the presence of God for us.
Hebr KJV 9:24  For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
Hebr VulgClem 9:24  Non enim in manufacta Sancta Jesus introivit exemplaria verorum : sed in ipsum cælum, ut appareat nunc vultui Dei pro nobis :
Hebr DRC 9:25  Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the Holies every year with the blood of others:
Hebr KJV 9:25  Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
Hebr DRC 9:26  For then he ought to have suffered often from the beginning of the world. But now once, at the end of ages, he hath appeared for the destruction of sin by the sacrifice of himself.
Hebr KJV 9:26  For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
Hebr DRC 9:27  And as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the judgment:
Hebr KJV 9:27  And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Hebr VulgClem 9:27  Et quemadmodum statutum est hominibus semel mori, post hoc autem judicium :
Hebr DRC 9:28  So also Christ was offered once to exhaust the sins of many. The second time he shall appear without sin to them that expect him unto salvation.
Hebr KJV 9:28  So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
