Godbey - Matthew - 28

28:1  And late on the Sabbath-day, on the dawn toward the first of the Sabbaths, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the sepulcher.

28:2  And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel descending from heaven, having come rolled away the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

28:3  And his countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow.

28:4  And from fear of him the keepers did quake, and they became like dead men.

28:5  And the angel responding, said to the women, Be ye not afraid: for I know that you are seeking Jesus, who has been crucified.

28:6  He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

28:7  And going quickly, tell His disciples, that He is risen from the dead; and behold, He goes before you into Galilee; and there you shall see Him; lo, I have told you.

28:8  And having come out quickly from the sepulcher with fear and great joy, they were running to tell His disciples.

28:9  And behold, Jesus met them, saying, Hail. And they having come forward, took hold of His feet, and worshiped Him.

28:10  Then Jesus says to them, Fear not: go tell my brethren, that they may depart into Galilee, and there they shall see me.

28:11  And they going, behold, certain ones of the watch having come into the city, proclaimed to the chief priests all things which had taken place.

28:12  And being assembled along with the elders, and taking counsel, they gave much money to the soldiers,

28:13  saying, You tell, that His disciples, having come by night, stole Him away while we slept.

28:14  And if this may be heard by the governor, we will persuade him and make you secure.

28:15  And they having received the money, did as they were instructed: and this report is current among the Jews until this day.

28:16  And the eleven disciples went away into Galilee into the mountain where Jesus commanded them:

28:17  and seeing Him, they worshiped Him: but some doubted.

28:18  And Jesus having come spoke to them, saying, All authority is given unto me in heaven and upon earth.

28:19  Going, disciple all nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost:

28:20  teaching them to observe all things which I commanded you. And lo, I am with you all the days, unto the end of the age.
