Chapter 15
Matt Godbey 15:1  Then the scribes and Pharisees, who are from Jerusalem, come to Jesus, saying,
Matt Godbey 15:2  Wherefore do thy disciples transgress the traditions of the elders? for they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.
Matt Godbey 15:3  And responding He said to them; Wherefore do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition?
Matt Godbey 15:4  For God commanded saying, Honor thy father and mother: and, He that speaketh evil of father or mother, let him die with death.
Matt Godbey 15:5  But you say, Whosoever may say to father or mother, It is a gift, whatsoever you may be profited by me; and he shall no longer honor his father or his mother.
Matt Godbey 15:6  You made void the commandment of God by your tradition.
Matt Godbey 15:7  Ye hypocrites, beautifully did Isaiah prophesy concerning you, saying,
Matt Godbey 15:8  This people honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
Matt Godbey 15:9  But in vain they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.
Matt Godbey 15:10  And calling the multitude to Him, He said to them, Hear and understand:
Matt Godbey 15:11  That if which cometh into the mouth does not defile the man; but that which cometh out from the mouth, that defiles the man.
Matt Godbey 15:12  Then His disciples having come to Him say, Do you not know that the Pharisees hearing your word, were offended?
Matt Godbey 15:13  And He responding said, Every plant which my heavenly Father did not plant, shall be rooted up.
Matt Godbey 15:14  Let them alone: the blind are leaders of the blind: if the blind may lead the blind, both will fall into the ditch.
Matt Godbey 15:15  Peter responding said to Him, Explain unto us the parable.
Matt Godbey 15:16  And Jesus said, Are you indeed still without understanding?
Matt Godbey 15:17  Do you know that everything entering into the mouth goes into the stomach, and is cast out into excrement?
Matt Godbey 15:18  But those things going out from the mouth come forth from the heart; and these pollute the man.
Matt Godbey 15:19  For out of the heart proceed evil reasonings, murders, fornications, adulteries, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies.
Matt Godbey 15:20  These are the things which defile the man: but to eat bread with unwashed hands does not defile the man.
Matt Godbey 15:21  And Jesus having come out thence, departed into the regions of Tyre and Sidon.
Matt Godbey 15:22  And behold, a Canaanitish woman having come out from those coasts, cried unto Him saying, Have mercy on me, Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is terribly demonized.
Matt Godbey 15:23  And He responded to her not a word; and His disciples, having come to Him, asked Him, saying, Send her away; because she cries after us.
Matt Godbey 15:24  And He responding said, I am not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Matt Godbey 15:25  And having come she continued to worship Him, saying, Lord, assist me.
Matt Godbey 15:26  He responding said, It is not good to take the children's bread and cast it to the little dogs.
Matt Godbey 15:27  And she said, Yea, Lord: for the little dogs eat of the crumbs falling from their master's table.
Matt Godbey 15:28  Then Jesus responding said to her, O woman, great is thy faith; let it be done unto thee as thou dost wish. And her daughter was healed from that hour.
Matt Godbey 15:29  And Jesus having departed thence, came to the Sea of Galilee; and having gone up into the mountain, He was sitting there.
Matt Godbey 15:30  And many multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deaf, the maimed, and many others, and laid them down at the feet of Jesus; and He healed them:
Matt Godbey 15:31  so that the multitudes were astonished, seeing the dumb speaking, the maimed whole, the lame walking about, and the blind seeing: and they glorified the God of Israel.
Matt Godbey 15:32  And Jesus calling His disciples to Him, said, I sympathize with the multitude, because already three days abide unto me, and they have nothing which they may eat; I do not wish to send them away fasting, lest they may faint on the road.
Matt Godbey 15:33  And His disciples say to Him, Whence is there to us so much bread in the wilderness, as to feed so great a multitude?
Matt Godbey 15:34  And Jesus says to them; How much bread have ye? And they said, Seven loaves and a few fishes.
Matt Godbey 15:35  He having commanded the multitudes to sit down upon the ground,
Matt Godbey 15:36  He took the seven loaves and the fishes; having given thanks, He broke them, and gave to His disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
Matt Godbey 15:37  And they all ate, and were filled: and they took up the residue of fragments, seven baskets full.
Matt Godbey 15:38  And those eating were about tour thousand men, besides women and children.
Matt Godbey 15:39  And having sent away the multitudes, He went into a ship and came into the coasts of Magdala.
