8:1  And after they had supped, they brought in the young man to her.

8:1  Když dojedli a dopili, chtěli už jít spát. Doprovodili tedy mladíka a zavedli ho do ložnice.

8:1  Postquam vero cœnaverunt, introduxerunt juvenem ad eam.

8:2  And Tobias remembering the angel's word, took out of his bag part of the liver, and laid it upon burning coals.

8:2  Tobiáš si vzpomněl na Rafaelova slova a vyndal z měšce, který měl u sebe, játra a srdce té ryby a položil je na žhavý popel v kadidelnici.

8:2  Recordatus itaque Tobias sermonum angeli, protulit de cassidili suo partem jecoris, posuitque eam super carbones vivos.

8:3  Then the angel Raphael took the devil, and bound him in the desert of upper Egypt.

8:3  Vůně z té ryby démona zapudila, takže uprchl až někam do horního Egypta. Rafael vyrazil za ním a hned ho spoutal na rukou a nohou a uvěznil ho tam.

8:3  Tunc Raphaël angelus apprehendit dæmonium, et religavit illud in deserto superioris Ægypti.

8:4  Then Tobias exhorted the virgin, and said to her: Sara, arise, and let us pray to God to day, and to morrow, and the next day: because for these three nights we are joined to God: and when the third night is over, we will be in our own wedlock.

8:4  Když rodiče odešli a zavřeli dveře od pokoje, Tobiáš vstal z lůžka a řekl Sáře: „Vstaň, sestro, pomodlíme se. Poprosíme našeho Pána o milosrdenství a spásu.“

8:4  Tunc hortatus est virginem Tobias, dixitque ei : Sara, exsurge, et deprecemur Deum hodie, et cras, et secundum cras : quia his tribus noctibus Deo jungimur ; tertia autem transacta nocte, in nostro erimus conjugio.

8:5  For we are the children of saints, and we must not be joined together like heathens that know not God.

8:5  Vstala tedy a začali se modlit a prosit, aby se jim dostalo spásy. Tobiáš začal: „Požehnaný jsi, Bože našich otců, a požehnané tvé jméno po všechny věky věků. Ať tě velebí nebesa a celé tvé stvoření po všechny věky!

8:5  Filii quippe sanctorum sumus, et non possumus ita conjungi sicut gentes quæ ignorant Deum.

8:6  So they both arose, and prayed earnestly both together that health might be given them.

8:6  Ty jsi stvořil Adama a stvořil jsi jeho ženu Evu, jeho pomoc a oporu, a z těch dvou vzešel lidský rod. Ty jsi řekl: ‚Není dobré, aby byl člověk sám, stvořme mu pomoc jemu podobnou.‘

8:6  Surgentes autem pariter, instanter orabant ambo simul, ut sanitas daretur eis.

8:7  And Tobias said: Lord God of our fathers, may the heavens and the earth, and the sea, and the fountains, and the rivers, and all thy creatures that are in them, bless thee.

8:7  Já si teď tuto svou sestru neberu pro chtíč, ale z ryzích pohnutek. Smiluj se proto nade mnou i nad ní, ať se dožijeme stáří společně.“

8:7  Dixitque Tobias : Domine Deus patrum nostrorum, benedicant te cæli et terræ, mareque et fontes, et flumina, et omnes creaturæ tuæ quæ in eis sunt.

8:8  Thou madest Adam of the slime of the earth, and gavest him Eve for a helper.

8:8  Pak oba řekli: „Amen, amen“

8:8  Tu fecisti Adam de limo terræ, dedistique ei adjutorium Hevam.

8:9  And now, Lord, thou knowest, that not for fleshly lust do I take my sister to wife, but only for the love of posterity, in which thy name may be blessed for ever and ever.

8:9  a tu noc šli spát.

8:9  Et nunc Domine, tu scis quia non luxuriæ causa accipio sororem meam conjugem, sed sola posteritatis dilectione, in qua benedicatur nomen tuum in sæcula sæculorum.

8:10  Sara also said: Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us, and let us grow old both together in health.

8:10  Raguel ale vstal, zavolal si své služebníky a šli vykopat hrob. Řekl si totiž: „Co kdyby zemřel. Čekal by nás posměch a urážky!“

8:10  Dixit quoque Sara : Miserere nobis Domine, miserere nobis, et consenescamus ambo pariter sani.

8:11  And it came to pass about the cockcrowing, Raguel ordered his servants to be called for, and they went with him together to dig a grave.

8:11  Když hrob konečně vykopali, Raguel se vrátil domů a zavolal svou ženu.

8:11  Et factum est circa pullorum cantum, accersiri jussit Raguel servos suos, et abierunt cum eo pariter ut foderent sepulchrum.

8:12  For he said: Lest perhaps it may have happened to him, in like manner as it did to the other seven husbands, that went in unto her.

8:12  „Pošli jednu ze služek, ať se jde podívat, jestli Tobiáš žije,“ řekl jí. „Jestli umřel, pohřbíme ho, ať se to nikdo nedozví.“

8:12  Dicebat enim : Ne forte simili modo evenerit ei, quo et ceteris illis septem viris qui sunt ingressi ad eam.

8:13  And when they had prepared the pit, Raguel went back to his wife, and said to her:

8:13  Poslali služku, rozsvítili lampu a otevřeli dveře. Služka vešla dovnitř a našla je, jak tam spolu leží a spí.

8:13  Cumque parassent fossam, reversus Raguel ad uxorem suam, dixit ei :

8:14  Send one of thy maids, and let her see if he be dead, that I may bury him before it be day.

8:14  Pak vyšla ven a pověděla jim, že mladík žije a nic zlého se nestalo.

8:14  Mitte unam de ancillis tuis, et videat si mortuus est, ut sepeliam eum antequam illucescat dies.

8:15  So she sent one of her maidservants, who went into the chamber, and found them safe and sound, sleeping both together.

8:15  Raguel začal velebit Boha nebes: „Požehnaný jsi, Bože, vším ryzím požehnáním, ať tě všichni velebí po všechny věky!

8:15  At illa misit unam ex ancillis suis. Quæ ingressa cubiculum, reperit eos salvos et incolumes, secum pariter dormientes.

8:16  And returning she brought the good news: and Raguel and Anna his wife blessed the Lord,

8:16  Požehnaný jsi, že jsi mě potěšil – že se nestalo, čeho jsem se bál, ale zachoval ses k nám podle svého velikého milosrdenství.

8:16  Et reversa nuntiavit bonum nuntium : et benedixerunt Dominum, Raguel videlicet et Anna uxor ejus,

8:17  And said: We bless thee, O Lord God of Israel, because it hath not happened as we suspected.

8:17  Požehnaný jsi, že ses smiloval nad těmi dvěma jedináčky. Daruj jim, Hospodine, milosrdenství a spásu a dej, ať svůj život dožijí v radosti a milosrdenství.“

8:17  et dixerunt : Benedicimus te, Domine Deus Israël, quia non contigit quemadmodum putabamus.

8:18  For thou hast shewn thy mercy to us, and hast shut out from us the enemy that persecuted us.

8:18  Pak řekl svým služebníkům, ať zasypou hrob, než začne svítat.

8:18  Fecisti enim nobiscum misericordiam tuam, et exclusisti a nobis inimicum persequentem nos.

8:19  And thou hast taken pity upon two only children. Make them, O Lord, bless thee more fully: and to offer up to thee a sacrifice of thy praise, and of their health, that all nations may know, that thou alone art God in all the earth.

8:19  Ženě řekl, ať napeče hodně chleba. Došel ke stádu, přivedl dva býky a čtyři berany a nechal je porazit. Tak začali připravovat hostinu.

8:19  Misertus es autem duobus unicis. Fac eos, Domine, plenius benedicere te, et sacrificium tibi laudis tuæ et suæ sanitatis offerre, ut cognoscat universitas gentium quia tu es Deus solus in universa terra.

8:20  And immediately Raguel commanded his servants, to fill up the pit they had made, before it was day.

8:20  Pak zavolal Tobiáše a řekl mu: „Rozhodně teď odsud čtrnáct dní nikam nepůjdeš. Zůstaneš tady u mě a budeš jíst a pít a těšit mou dceru, která si toho tolik vytrpěla.

8:20  Statimque præcepit servis suis Raguel ut replerent fossam quam fecerant priusquam elucesceret.

8:21  And he spoke to his wife to make ready a feast, and prepare all kind of provisions that are necessary for such as go a journey.

8:21  Potom si vezmi polovinu všeho mého majetku a vrať se ve zdraví ke svému otci. Druhá polovina vám připadne, až se ženou oba umřeme. Hlavu vzhůru, chlapče. Já jsem tvůj otec a Edna tvá matka; od teď jsme navždy při tobě a tvé sestře. Hlavu vzhůru, chlapče.“

8:21  Uxori autem suæ dixit ut instrueret convivium, et præpararet omnia quæ in cibos erant iter agentibus necessaria.

8:22  He caused also two fat kine, and four wethers to be killed, and a banquet to be prepared for all his neighbours, and all his friends.

8:22  Duas quoque pingues vaccas, et quatuor arietes, occidi fecit, et parari epulas omnibus vicinis suis, cunctisque amicis.

8:23  And Raguel adjured Tobias, to abide with him two weeks.

8:23  Et adjuravit Raguel Tobiam ut duas hebdomadas moraretur apud se.

8:24  And of all things which Raguel possessed, he gave one half to Tobias, and made a writing, that the half that remained should after their decease come also to Tobias.

8:24  De omnibus autem quæ possidebat Raguel, dimidiam partem dedit Tobiæ, et fecit scripturam, ut pars dimidia quæ supererat, post obitum eorum Tobiæ dominio deveniret.
