9:1  And God blessed Noe and his sons. And he said to them: Increase, and multiply, and fill the earth.

9:1  And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

9:1  Benedixitque Deus Noë et filiis ejus. Et dixit ad eos : Crescite, et multiplicamini, et replete terram.

9:2  And let the fear and dread of you be upon all the beasts of the earth, and upon all the fowls of the air, and all that move upon the earth: all the fishes of the sea are delivered into your hand.

9:2  And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.

9:2  Et terror vester ac tremor sit super cuncta animalia terræ, et super omnes volucres cæli, cum universis quæ moventur super terram : omnes pisces maris manui vestræ traditi sunt.

9:3  And every thing that moveth, and liveth shall be meat for you: even as the green herbs have I delivered them all to you:

9:3  Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

9:3  Et omne, quod movetur et vivit, erit vobis in cibum : quasi olera virentia tradidi vobis omnia.

9:4  Saving that flesh with blood you shall not eat.

9:4  But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.

9:4  Excepto, quod carnem cum sanguine non comedetis.

9:5  For I will require the blood of your lives at the hand of every beast, and at the hand of man, at the hand of every man, and of his brother, will I require the life of man.

9:5  And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man.

9:5  Sanguinem enim animarum vestrarum requiram de manu cunctarum bestiarum : et de manu hominis, de manu viri, et fratris ejus requiram animam hominis.

9:6  Whosoever shall shed man's blood, his blood shall be shed: for man was made to the image of God.

9:6  Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

9:6  Quicumque effuderit humanum sanguinem, fundetur sanguis illius : ad imaginem quippe Dei factus est homo.

9:7  But increase you and multiply, and go upon the earth and fill it.

9:7  And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.

9:7  Vos autem crescite et multiplicamini, et ingredimini super terram, et implete eam.

9:8  Thus also said God to Noe, and to his sons with him:

9:8  And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,

9:8  Hæc quoque dixit Deus ad Noë, et ad filios ejus cum eo :

9:9  Behold I will establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you:

9:9  And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;

9:9  Ecce ego statuam pactum meum vobiscum, et cum semine vestro post vos :

9:10  And with every living soul that is with you, as well in all birds, as in cattle and beasts of the earth, that are come forth out of the ark, and in all the beasts of the earth.

9:10  And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.

9:10  et ad omnem animam viventem, quæ est vobiscum, tam in volucribus quam in jumentis et pecudibus terræ cunctis, quæ egressa sunt de arca, et universis bestiis terræ.

9:11  I will establish my covenant with you, and all flesh shall be no more destroyed with the waters of a flood, neither shall there be from henceforth a flood to waste the earth.

9:11  And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

9:11  Statuam pactum meum vobiscum, et nequaquam ultra interficietur omnis caro aquis diluvii, neque erit deinceps diluvium dissipans terram.

9:12  And God said: This is the sign of the covenant which I give between me and you, and to every living soul that is with you, for perpetual generations.

9:12  And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:

9:12  Dixitque Deus : Hoc signum fœderis quod do inter me et vos, et ad omnem animam viventem, quæ est vobiscum in generationes sempiternas :

9:13  I will set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be the sign of a covenant between me and between the earth.

9:13  I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

9:13  arcum meum ponam in nubibus, et erit signum fœderis inter me et inter terram.

9:14  And when I shall cover the sky with clouds, my bow shall appear in the clouds:

9:14  And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

9:14  Cumque obduxero nubibus cælum, apparebit arcus meus in nubibus :

9:15  And I will remember my covenant with you, and with every living soul that beareth flesh: and there shall no more be waters of a flood to destroy all flesh.

9:15  And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

9:15  et recordabor fœderis mei vobiscum, et cum omni anima vivente quæ carnem vegetat : et non erunt ultra aquæ diluvii ad delendum universam carnem.

9:16  And the bow shall be in the clouds, and I shall see it, and shall remember the everlasting covenant, that was made between God and every living soul of all flesh which is upon the earth.

9:16  And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

9:16  Eritque arcus in nubibus, et videbo illum, et recordabor fœderis sempiterni quod pactum est inter Deum et omnem animam viventem universæ carnis quæ est super terram.

9:17  And God said to Noe: This shall be the sign of the covenant, which I have established, between me and all flesh upon the earth.

9:17  And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

9:17  Dixitque Deus ad Noë : Hoc erit signum fœderis, quod constitui inter me et omnem carnem super terram.

9:18  And the sons of Noe, who came out of the ark, were Sem, Cham, and Japheth: and Cham is the father of Chanaan.

9:18  And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan.

9:18  Erant ergo filii Noë, qui egressi sunt de arca, Sem, Cham et Japheth : porro Cham ipse est pater Chanaan.

9:19  These three are the sons of Noe: and from these was all mankind spread over the whole earth.

9:19  These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.

9:19  Tres isti filii sunt Noë : et ab his disseminatum est omne genus hominum super universam terram.

9:20  And Noe a husbandman began to till the ground, and planted a vineyard.

9:20  And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:

9:20  Cœpitque Noë vir agricola exercere terram, et plantavit vineam.

9:21  And drinking of the wine was made drunk, and was uncovered in his tent.

9:21  And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.

9:21  Bibensque vinum inebriatus est, et nudatus in tabernaculo suo.

9:22  Which when Cham the father of Chanaan had seen, to wit, that his father's nakedness was uncovered, he told it to his two brethren without.

9:22  And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.

9:22  Quod cum vidisset Cham, pater Chanaan, verenda scilicet patris sui esse nudata, nuntiavit duobus fratribus suis foras.

9:23  But Sem and Japheth put a cloak upon their shoulders, and going backward, covered the nakedness of their father: and their faces were turned away, and they saw not their father's nakedness.

9:23  And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father’s nakedness.

9:23  At vero Sem et Japheth pallium imposuerunt humeris suis, et incedentes retrorsum, operuerunt verenda patris sui : faciesque eorum aversæ erant, et patris virilia non viderunt.

9:24  And Noe awaking from the wine, when he had learned what his younger son had done to him,

9:24  And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.

9:24  Evigilans autem Noë ex vino, cum didicisset quæ fecerat ei filius suus minor,

9:25  He said: Cursed be Chanaan, a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

9:25  And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

9:25  ait : Maledictus Chanaan, servus servorum erit fratribus suis.

9:26  And he said: Blessed be the Lord God of Sem, be Chanaan his servant.

9:26  And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

9:26  Dixitque : Benedictus Dominus Deus Sem, sit Chanaan servus ejus.

9:27  May God enlarge Japheth, and may he dwell in the tents of Sem, and Chanaan be his servant.

9:27  God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

9:27  Dilatet Deus Japheth, et habitet in tabernaculis Sem, sitque Chanaan servus ejus.

9:28  And Noe lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years.

9:28  And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years.

9:28  Vixit autem Noë post diluvium trecentis quinquaginta annis.

9:29  And all his days were in the whole nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.

9:29  And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.

9:29  Et impleti sunt omnes dies ejus nongentorum quinquaginta annorum : et mortuus est.
