MATTHEW
Chapter 17
Matt | Jubilee2 | 17:1 | And after six days Jesus takes Peter, James, and John, his brother, and brings them apart up into a high mountain
Matt | Jubilee2 | 17:2 | and was transfigured before them, and his face shined as the sun, and his raiment was [as] white as the light.
Matt | Jubilee2 | 17:4 | Then Peter answered and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to remain here; if thou desire, let us make three tabernacles here: one for thee and one for Moses and one for Elijah.
Matt | Jubilee2 | 17:5 | While he yet spoke, behold, a cloud of light overshadowed them, and, behold, a voice out of the cloud, [which] said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
Matt | Jubilee2 | 17:9 | And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no one until the Son of man is risen from the dead.
Matt | Jubilee2 | 17:10 | Then his disciples asked him, saying, Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?
Matt | Jubilee2 | 17:11 | And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elijah truly shall come first and restore all things.
Matt | Jubilee2 | 17:12 | But I say unto you, That Elijah is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatever they pleased. Likewise the Son of man shall also suffer of them.
Matt | Jubilee2 | 17:14 | And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a [certain] man, kneeling down to him, and saying,
Matt | Jubilee2 | 17:15 | Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is lunatic and suffers miserably; for many times he has fallen into the fire and often into the water.
Matt | Jubilee2 | 17:17 | Then Jesus answered and said, O unfaithful and crooked generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? Bring him here to me.
Matt | Jubilee2 | 17:18 | And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon departed out of him and the child was cured from that very hour.
Matt | Jubilee2 | 17:20 | And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unfaithfulness; for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove from here to yonder place, and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Matt | Jubilee2 | 17:22 | And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men;
Matt | Jubilee2 | 17:23 | and they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.
Matt | Jubilee2 | 17:24 | And when they were come to Capernaum, those that received the two drachmas came to Peter and said, Does not your master pay the two drachmas?
Matt | Jubilee2 | 17:25 | He said, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus spoke unto him first, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own sons or of strangers?
