Matt Jubilee2 1:1  The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, son of David, son of Abraham.
Matt Jubilee2 1:2  Abraham begat Isaac; Isaac begat Jacob; Jacob begat Judas and his brothers;
Matt Jubilee2 1:3  Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; Phares begat Esrom; Esrom begat Aram;
Matt Jubilee2 1:4  Aram begat Aminadab; Aminadab begat Naasson; Naasson begat Salmon;
Matt Jubilee2 1:5  Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; Booz begat Obed of Ruth; Obed begat Jesse;
Matt Jubilee2 1:6  Jesse begat David the king; David the king begat Solomon of her [that had been the wife] of Urias;
Matt Jubilee2 1:7  Solomon begat Roboam; Roboam begat Abia; Abia begat Asa;
Matt Jubilee2 1:8  Asa begat Josaphat; Josaphat begat Joram; Joram begat Ozias;
Matt Jubilee2 1:9  Ozias begat Joatham; Joatham begat Achaz; Achaz begat Ezekias;
Matt Jubilee2 1:10  Ezekias begat Manasses; Manasses begat Amon; Amon begat Josias;
Matt Jubilee2 1:11  Josias begat Jechonias and his brothers, about the time they were carried away to Babylon;
Matt Jubilee2 1:12  after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; Salathiel begat Zorobabel;
Matt Jubilee2 1:13  Zorobabel begat Abiud; Abiud begat Eliakim; Eliakim begat Azor;
Matt Jubilee2 1:14  Azor begat Sadoc; Sadoc begat Achim; Achim begat Eliud;
Matt Jubilee2 1:15  Eliud begat Eleazar; Eleazar begat Matthan; Matthan begat Jacob;
Matt Jubilee2 1:16  Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
Matt Jubilee2 1:17  So all the generations from Abraham to David [are] fourteen generations; from David until the carrying away into Babylon [are] fourteen generations; from the carrying away into Babylon unto the Christ [are] fourteen generations.
Matt Jubilee2 1:18  Now the birth of Jesus Christ was like this: That being, his mother Mary espoused to Joseph (before they came together) she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
Matt Jubilee2 1:19  Then Joseph her husband, being just and not willing to expose her publicly, desired to leave her secretly.
Matt Jubilee2 1:20  But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in dreams, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife; for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
Matt Jubilee2 1:21  And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus, for he shall save his people from their sins.
Matt Jubilee2 1:22  Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
Matt Jubilee2 1:23  Behold, a virgin shall conceive and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is God With Us.
Matt Jubilee2 1:24  Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him and took unto him his wife
Matt Jubilee2 1:25  and knew her not until she had brought forth her firstborn son, and he called his name Jesus.:
