Chapter 49
Psal DRC 49:1  A psalm for Asaph. The God of gods, the Lord hath spoken: and he hath called the earth. From the rising of the sun, to the going down thereof:
Psal KJV 49:1  Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:
Psal VulgClem 49:1  Psalmus Asaph. Deus deorum Dominus locutus est, et vocavit terram a solis ortu usque ad occasum.
Psal DRC 49:2  Out of Sion the loveliness of his beauty.
Psal KJV 49:2  Both low and high, rich and poor, together.
Psal VulgClem 49:2  Ex Sion species decoris ejus :
Psal DRC 49:3  God shall come manifestly: our God shall come, and shall not keep silence. A fire shall burn before him: and a mighty tempest shall be round about him.
Psal KJV 49:3  My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
Psal VulgClem 49:3  Deus manifeste veniet ; Deus noster, et non silebit. Ignis in conspectu ejus exardescet ; et in circuitu ejus tempestas valida.
Psal DRC 49:4  He shall call heaven from above, and the earth, to judge his people.
Psal KJV 49:4  I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.
Psal VulgClem 49:4  Advocabit cælum desursum, et terram, discernere populum suum.
Psal DRC 49:5  Gather ye together his saints to him: who set his covenant before sacrifices.
Psal KJV 49:5  Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?
Psal VulgClem 49:5  Congregate illi sanctos ejus, qui ordinant testamentum ejus super sacrificia.
Psal DRC 49:6  And the heavens shall declare his justice: for God is judge.
Psal KJV 49:6  They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
Psal VulgClem 49:6  Et annuntiabunt cæli justitiam ejus, quoniam Deus judex est.
Psal DRC 49:7  Hear, O my people, and I will speak: O Israel, and I will testify to thee: I am God, thy God.
Psal KJV 49:7  None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
Psal VulgClem 49:7  Audi, populus meus, et loquar ; Israël, et testificabor tibi : Deus, Deus tuus ego sum.
Psal DRC 49:8  I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices: and thy burnt offerings are always in my sight.
Psal KJV 49:8  (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)
Psal VulgClem 49:8  Non in sacrificiis tuis arguam te ; holocausta autem tua in conspectu meo sunt semper.
Psal DRC 49:9  I will not take calves out of thy house: nor he goats out of thy flocks.
Psal KJV 49:9  That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.
Psal VulgClem 49:9  Non accipiam de domo tua vitulos, neque de gregibus tuis hircos :
Psal DRC 49:10  For all the beasts of the woods are mine: the cattle on the hills, and the oxen.
Psal KJV 49:10  For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.
Psal VulgClem 49:10  quoniam meæ sunt omnes feræ silvarum, jumenta in montibus, et boves.
Psal DRC 49:11  I know all the fowls of the air: and with me is the beauty of the field.
Psal KJV 49:11  Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.
Psal VulgClem 49:11  Cognovi omnia volatilia cæli, et pulchritudo agri mecum est.
Psal DRC 49:12  If I should be hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.
Psal KJV 49:12  Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
Psal VulgClem 49:12  Si esuriero, non dicam tibi : meus est enim orbis terræ et plenitudo ejus.
Psal DRC 49:13  Shall I eat the flesh of bullocks? or shall I drink the blood of goats?
Psal KJV 49:13  This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.
Psal VulgClem 49:13  Numquid manducabo carnes taurorum ? aut sanguinem hircorum potabo ?
Psal DRC 49:14  Offer to God the sacrifice of praise: and pay thy vows to the most High.
Psal KJV 49:14  Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.
Psal VulgClem 49:14  Immola Deo sacrificium laudis, et redde Altissimo vota tua.
Psal DRC 49:15  And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
Psal KJV 49:15  But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.
Psal VulgClem 49:15  Et invoca me in die tribulationis : eruam te, et honorificabis me.
Psal DRC 49:16  But to the sinner God hath said: Why dost thou declare my justices, and take my covenant in thy mouth?
Psal KJV 49:16  Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
Psal VulgClem 49:16  Peccatori autem dixit Deus : Quare tu enarras justitias meas ? et assumis testamentum meum per os tuum ?
Psal DRC 49:17  Seeing thou hast hated discipline: and hast cast my words behind thee.
Psal KJV 49:17  For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
Psal VulgClem 49:17  Tu vero odisti disciplinam, et projecisti sermones meos retrorsum.
Psal DRC 49:18  If thou didst see a thief thou didst run with him: and with adulterers thou hast been a partaker.
Psal KJV 49:18  Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.
Psal VulgClem 49:18  Si videbas furem, currebas cum eo ; et cum adulteris portionem tuam ponebas.
Psal DRC 49:19  Thy mouth hath abounded with evil, and thy tongue framed deceits.
Psal KJV 49:19  He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.
Psal VulgClem 49:19  Os tuum abundavit malitia, et lingua tua concinnabat dolos.
Psal DRC 49:20  Sitting thou didst speak against thy brother, and didst lay a scandal against thy mother's son:
Psal KJV 49:20  Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.
Psal VulgClem 49:20  Sedens adversus fratrem tuum loquebaris, et adversus filium matris tuæ ponebas scandalum.
Psal DRC 49:21  These things hast thou done, and I was silent. Thou thoughtest unjustly that I should be like to thee: but I will reprove thee, and set before thy face.

Psal VulgClem 49:21  Hæc fecisti, et tacui. Existimasti inique quod ero tui similis : arguam te, et statuam contra faciem tuam.
Psal DRC 49:22  Understand these things, you that forget God; lest he snatch you away, and there be none to deliver you.

Psal VulgClem 49:22  Intelligite hæc, qui obliviscimini Deum, nequando rapiat, et non sit qui eripiat.
Psal DRC 49:23  The sacrifice of praise shall glorify me: and there is the way by which I will shew him the salvation of God.

Psal VulgClem 49:23  Sacrificium laudis honorificabit me, et illic iter quo ostendam illi salutare Dei.
