16:1  And they set forward from Elim, and all the multitude of the children of Israel came into the desert of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai: the fifteenth day of the second month, after they came out of the land of Egypt.

16:3  Izraelci jim vyčítali: „Kéž bychom byli zemřeli Hospodinovou rukou v egyptské zemi, když jsme sedávali nad hrnci masa, když jsme jídávali chléb do sytosti. Vždyť jste nás vyvedli na tuto poušť, jen abyste celé toto shromáždění umořili hladem.“

16:3  Synové Izraele před nimi naříkali: „Proč jsme jen nezemřeli Hospodinovou rukou v Egyptě? Tam jsme sedávali nad hrnci masa a jídali chléb do sytosti! Vy jste nás ale odvedli sem na poušť, jen abyste celé toto shromáždění umořili hladem!“

16:3  Synové Izraele jim říkali: Kéž bychom zemřeli Hospodinovou rukou v egyptské zemi, když jsme sedávali nad hrnci masa a jídali jsme chléb do sytosti! Protože jste nás vyvedli do této pustiny, abyste celé toto shromáždění nechali zemřít hlady.

16:3  A mluvili jim synové Izraelští: Ó bychom byli zemřeli od ruky Hospodinovy v zemi Egyptské, když jsme sedávali nad hrnci masa, když jsme se najídali chleba do sytosti! A teď vyvedli jste nás na tuto poušť, abyste zmořili všecko shromáždění toto hladem.

16:3  And the children of Israel said to them, O that we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh-pots, [and] when we did eat bread to the full: for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.

16:3  and the children of Israel said to them, "We wish that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the meat pots, when we ate our fill of bread, for you have brought us out into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger."

16:4  And the Lord said to Moses: Behold I will rain bread from heaven for you; let the people go forth, and gather what is sufficient for every day: that I may prove them whether they will walk in my law, or not.

16:4  Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

16:4  Hospodin řekl Mojžíšovi: „Já vám sešlu chléb jako déšť z nebe. Ať lid vychází a sbírá, co denně spotřebují. Tak je podrobím zkoušce, budou-li se řídit mým zákonem, či nikoli.

16:4  Tehdy Hospodin Mojžíšovi řekl: „Hle, nechám na vás pršet chléb z nebe! Lid bude každý den vycházet a sbírat, kolik potřebují na ten den. Vyzkouším, zda budou žít podle mých pokynů, či nikoli.

16:4  Hospodin řekl Mojžíšovi: Hle, sešlu vám z nebe chléb a lid bude vycházet a sbírat pro svou každodenní potřebu, abych ho vyzkoušel, bude–li chodit podle mého zákona nebo ne.

16:4  I řekl Hospodin Mojžíšovi: Aj, já dám vám chleba s nebe jako déšť, a vycházeti bude lid a sbírati, což by postačilo na každý den, abych ho zkusil, bude-li choditi v zákoně mém, či nebude.

16:4  Then said the LORD to Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or not.

16:4  Then said the Lord to Moses, "Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you, and the people shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in my law, or not.

16:4  Then said the LORD to Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

16:4  Dixit autem Dominus ad Moysen : Ecce ego pluam vobis panes de cælo : egrediatur populus, et colligat quæ sufficiunt per singulos dies : ut tentem eum utrum ambulet in lege mea, an non.

16:5  But the sixth day let them provide for to bring in: and let it be double to that they were wont to gather every day.

16:5  And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.

16:7  A ráno spatříte Hospodinovu slávu, ačkoli slyšel vaše reptání proti sobě. Co jsme my, že reptáte proti nám?“

16:7  And in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the LORD; for that he heareth your murmurings against the LORD: And what [are] we, that ye murmur against us?

16:7  and in the morning, then you shall see the glory of the Lord; because he hears your murmurings against the Lord. Who are we, that you murmur against us?"

16:8  And Moses said: In the evening the Lord will give you flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full: for he hath heard your murmurings, with which you have murmured against him, for what are we? your murmuring is not against us, but against the Lord.

16:8  And Moses said, This shall be, when the Lord shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the Lord heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the Lord.

16:8  Pak Mojžíš dodal: „Poznáte to podle toho, že vám Hospodin dá večer k jídlu maso a ráno k nasycení chléb, ačkoli slyšel reptání, jak jste proti němu reptali. Co jsme my? Nereptáte proti nám, ale proti Hospodinu.“

16:8  Mojžíš pokračoval: „Až vám Hospodin dá večer k jídlu maso a ráno chléb do sytosti, poznáte, že Hospodin slyšel vaše reptání proti němu. Kdo jsme my? Nereptáte proti nám, ale proti Hospodinu!“

16:8  Dále Mojžíš řekl: Když vám Hospodin dá večer k jídlu maso a ráno chléb k nasycení, poznáte, že Hospodin slyšel vaše reptání, jímž jste proti němu reptali. Vždyť co jsme my? Vaše reptání nebylo proti nám, ale proti Hospodinu.

16:8  Mluvil dále Mojžíš: Z toho, pravím, poznáte, když vám dá Hospodin u večer masa, abyste se najedli, a chleba ráno do sytosti, poněvadž slyšel Hospodin reptání vaše, jimiž jste na něj reptali. Nebo my co jsme? Ne proti námť jsou reptání vaše, ale proti Hospodinu.

16:8  And Moses said, [This shall be] when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: And what [are] we? your murmurings [are] not against us, but against the LORD.

16:8  Moses said, "Now the Lord shall give you meat to eat in the evening, and in the morning bread to satisfy you; because the Lord hears your murmurings which you murmur against him. And who are we? Your murmurings are not against us, but against the Lord."

16:8  And Moses said, This shall be, when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD hears your murmurings which you murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.

16:8  Et ait Moyses : Dabit vobis Dominus vespere carnes edere, et mane panes in saturitate : eo quod audierit murmurationes vestras quibus murmurati estis contra eum : nos enim quid sumus ? nec contra nos est murmur vestrum, sed contra Dominum.

16:9  Moses also said to Aaron: Say to the whole congregation of the children of Israel: Come before the Lord; for he hath heard your murmuring.

16:10  Když mluvil Áron k celé pospolitosti Izraelců, obrátili se k poušti, a vtom se ukázala v oblaku Hospodinova sláva.

16:14  And when it had covered the face of the earth, it appeared in the wilderness small, and as it were beaten with a pestle, like unto the hoar frost on the ground.

16:14  And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.

16:14  Když rosa přestala padat, hle, na povrchu pouště leželo po zemi cosi jemně šupinatého, jemného jako jíní.

16:14  And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness [there lay] a small round thing, [as] small as the hoar frost on the ground:

16:15  And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another: Manhu! which signifieth: What is this! for they knew not what it was. And Moses said to them: This is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat.

16:15  And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat.

16:15  And when the children of Israel saw [it], they said one to another, It [is] manna: for they knew not what it [was]. And Moses said to them, This [is] the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.

16:15  When the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, "What is it?" For they did not know what it was. Moses said to them, "It is the bread which the Lord has given you to eat."

16:15  And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they knew not what it was. And Moses said to them, This is the bread which the LORD has given you to eat.

16:16  This is the word that the Lord hath commanded: Let every one gather of it as much as is enough to eat; a gomor for every man, according to the number of your souls that dwell in a tent, so shall you take of it.
