4:1  Moses answered, and said: They will not believe me, nor hear my voice, but they will say: The Lord hath not appeared to thee.

4:1  And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The Lord hath not appeared unto thee.

4:1  Mojžíš však znovu namítal: „Nikoli, neuvěří mi a neuposlechnou mě, ale řeknou: Hospodin se ti neukázal.“

4:1  Mojžíš znovu namítl: „Pohleď, neuvěří mi a neposlechnou mě. Určitě řeknou: ‚Žádný Hospodin se ti neukázal!‘“

4:1  Mojžíš však odpověděl: Co jestli mi neuvěří a neposlechnou mě? Vždyť řeknou: Neukázal se ti Hospodin!

4:1  Odpověděl pak Mojžíš, a řekl: Aj, neuvěří mi, ani uposlechnou hlasu mého; nebo řeknou: Neukázalť se tobě Hospodin.

4:1  And Moses answered and said, But behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken to my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared to thee.

4:1  Moses answered, "But, behold, they will not believe me, nor listen to my voice; for they will say, 'The Lord has not appeared to you.'"

4:1  And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor listen to my voice: for they will say, The LORD has not appeared to you.

4:1  Respondens Moyses ait : Non credent mihi, neque audient vocem meam, sed dicent : Non apparuit tibi Dominus.

4:2  Then he said to him: What is that thou holdest in thy hand? He answered: A rod.

4:2  And the Lord said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.

4:2  Hospodin mu řekl: „Co to máš v ruce?“ Odpověděl: „Hůl.“

4:2  Hospodin se ho zeptal: „Co to máš v ruce?“ „Hůl,“ odpověděl.

4:2  Ale Hospodin mu řekl: Co je to ve tvé ruce? Odpověděl: Hůl.

4:2  Tedy řekl jemu Hospodin: Co jest to v ruce tvé? Odpověděl: Hůl.

4:2  And the LORD said to him, What [is] that in thy hand? And he said, A rod.

4:2  The Lord said to him, "What is that in your hand?" He said, "A rod."

4:2  And the LORD said to him, What is that in your hand? And he said, A rod.

4:2  Dixit ergo ad eum : Quid est quod tenes in manu tua ? Respondit : Virga.

4:3  And the Lord said: Cast it down upon the ground. He cast it down, and it was turned into a serpent, so that Moses fled from it.

4:3  And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.

4:3  Hospodin řekl: „Hoď ji na zem.“ Hodil ji na zem a stal se z ní had. Mojžíš se dal před ním na útěk.

4:3  Řekl mu: „Hoď ji na zem.“ Hodil ji tedy na zem a proměnila se v hada! Mojžíš se před ním dal na útěk,

4:3  Hospodin řekl: Hoď ji na zem. Hodil ji na zem a stala se hadem. Mojžíš před ním utíkal.

4:3  I řekl: Vrz ji na zem. I povrhl ji na zem, a obrácena jest v hada; a utíkal Mojžíš před ním.

4:3  And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent: and Moses fled from before it.

4:3  He said, "Throw it on the ground." He threw it on the ground, and it became a snake; and Moses ran away from it.

4:3  And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.

4:3  Dixitque Dominus : Projice eam in terram. Projecit, et versa est in colubrum, ita ut fugeret Moyses.

4:4  And the Lord said: Put out thy hand, and take it by the tail. He put forth his hand, and took hold of it, and it was turned into a rod.

4:4  And the Lord said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:

4:4  Ale Hospodin Mojžíšovi poručil: „Vztáhni ruku a chyť ho za ocas.“ Vztáhl tedy ruku, uchopil ho a v dlani se mu z něho stala hůl.

4:4  ale Hospodin ho vyzval: „Natáhni ruku a chyť ho za ocas.“ Mojžíš tedy natáhl ruku, chytil ho a had se mu v ruce proměnil v hůl!

4:4  Pak Hospodin Mojžíšovi řekl: Vztáhni ruku a chyť ho za ocas! Vztáhl ruku, chytil ho a v jeho ruce se stal holí.

4:4  Tedy řekl Hospodin Mojžíšovi: Vztáhni ruku svou, a chyť ho za ocas. Kterýžto vztáh ruku svou, chytil jej, a obrácen jest v hůl v rukou jeho.

4:4  And the LORD said to Moses, Put forth thy hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:

4:4  The Lord said to Moses, "Put forth your hand, and take it by the tail." He put forth his hand, and laid hold of it, and it became a rod in his hand.

4:4  Dixitque Dominus : Extende manum tuam, et apprehende caudam ejus. Extendit, et tenuit, versaque est in virgam.

4:5  That they may believe, saith he, that the Lord God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared to thee.

4:5  That they may believe that the Lord God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.

4:5  „Aby uvěřili, že se ti ukázal Hospodin, Bůh jejich otců, Bůh Abrahamův, Bůh Izákův a Bůh Jákobův.“

4:6  And the Lord said again: Put thy hand into thy bosom. And when he had put it into his bosom, he brought it forth leprous as snow.

4:6  And the Lord said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow.

4:6  Dále mu Hospodin řekl: „Vlož si ruku za ňadra.“ Vložil tedy ruku za ňadra. Když ruku vytáhl, byla malomocná, bílá jako sníh.

4:6  Poté Hospodin řekl: „Vlož si ruku do podpaždí.“ Vložil si tedy ruku do podpaždí, a když ji vytáhl, jeho ruka byla malomocná, bílá jako sníh.

4:6  Hospodin mu ještě řekl: Dej ruku za ňadra. I dal ruku za ňadra. Když ji vyndal, hle, jeho ruka byla malomocná, bílá jako sníh.

4:6  Potom zase řekl jemu Hospodin: Vlož nyní ruku svou za ňadra svá. I vložil ruku svou za ňadra svá; a vyňal ji, a aj, ruka jeho byla malomocná, bílá jako sníh.

4:6  And the LORD said furthermore to him, Put now thy hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand [was] leprous as snow.

4:6  The Lord said furthermore to him, "Now put your hand inside your cloak." He put his hand inside his cloak, and when he took it out from his cloak, behold, his hand was leprous, as white as snow.

4:6  And the LORD said furthermore to him, Put now your hand into your bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow.

4:6  Dixitque Dominus rursum : Mitte manum tuam in sinum tuum. Quam cum misisset in sinum, protulit leprosam instar nivis.

4:7  And he said: Put back thy hand into thy bosom. He put it back, and brought it out again, and it was like the other flesh.

4:7  And he said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh.

4:7  Tu poručil: „Dej ruku zpět za ňadra.“ Dal ruku zpět za ňadra. Když ji ze záňadří vytáhl, byla opět jako ostatní tělo.

4:7  „Vlož si ruku znovu do podpaždí,“ řekl mu potom. Mojžíš si tedy znovu vložil ruku do podpaždí, a když ji odtud vytáhl, byla znovu zdravá jako zbytek jeho těla!

4:7  Nato řekl: Vrať ruku zpět za ňadra. Vrátil ruku zpět za ňadra, a když ji vyndal ven, tu byla znovu jako jeho tělo.

4:7  Řekl opět: Vlož ruku svou zase v ňadra svá. Kterýž vložil ruku svou zase v ňadra svá; a vyňal ji z ňader svých, a aj, učiněna jest zase jako jiné tělo jeho.

4:7  And he said, Put thy hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again, and drew it out of his bosom, and behold, it was turned again as his [other] flesh.

4:7  He said, "Put your hand inside your cloak again." He put his hand inside his cloak again, and when he took it out of his cloak, behold, it had turned again as his other flesh.

4:7  And he said, Put your hand into your bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh.

4:7  Retrahe, ait, manum tuam in sinum tuum. Retraxit, et protulit iterum, et erat similis carni reliquæ.

4:8  If they will not believe thee, saith he, nor hear the voice of the former sign, they will believe the word of the latter sign.

4:8  And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.

4:8  „A tak jestliže ti neuvěří a nedají na první znamení, uvěří druhému znamení.

4:8  „Když ti neuvěří a neposlechnou první znamení, uvěří druhému znamení.

4:8  I stane se, když ti neuvěří a neuposlechnou první znamení, že uvěří dalšímu znamení.

4:8  I budeť, jestliže neuvěří tobě, a neposlechnou hlasu a znamení prvního, uvěří hlasu a znamení druhému.

4:8  And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.

4:8  "It will happen, if they will neither believe you nor listen to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.

4:8  And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe you, neither listen to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.

4:8  Si non crediderint, inquit, tibi, neque audierint sermonem signi prioris, credent verbo signi sequentis.

4:9  But if they will not even believe these two signs, nor hear thy voice: take of the river water, and pour it out upon the dry land, and whatsoever thou drawest out of the river, shall be turned into blood.

4:9  And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.

4:9  Jestliže však neuvěří ani těmto dvěma znamením a neuposlechnou tě, nabereš vodu z Nilu a vyleješ ji na suchou zemi. Z vody, kterou nabereš z Nilu, se stane na suché zemi krev.“

4:9  A pokud neuvěří ani těm dvěma znamením a neposlechnou tě, nabereš vodu z Nilu, vyliješ ji na suchou zem. Ta voda, kterou jsi nabral z Nilu, se pak na zemi promění v krev.“

4:9  I stane se, když neuvěří ani na tato dvě znamení a neposlechnou tě, vezmeš vodu z Nilu a vyleješ ji na ⌈suchou zem.⌉ A voda, kterou vezmeš z Nilu, se na ⌈suché zemi⌉ změní v krev.

4:9  A pakli neuvěří ani těm dvěma znamením, a neuposlechnou hlasu tvého, tedy nabereš vody z řeky, a vyliješ ji na zem; a promění se vody, kteréž vezmeš z řeky, a obrátí se v krev na zemi.

4:9  And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken to thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour [it] upon the dry [land]: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry [land].

4:9  It will happen, if they will not believe even these two signs, neither listen to your voice, that you shall take of the water of the river, and pour it on the dry land. The water which you take out of the river will become blood on the dry land."

4:9  And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither listen to your voice, that you shall take of the water of the river, and pour it on the dry land: and the water which you take out of the river shall become blood on the dry land.

4:9  Quod si nec duobus quidem his signis crediderint, neque audierint vocem tuam : sume aquam fluminis, et effunde eam super aridam, et quidquid hauseris de fluvio, vertetur in sanguinem.

4:10  Moses said: I beseech thee, Lord, I am not eloquent from yesterday and the day before; and since thou hast spoken to thy servant, I have more impediment and slowness of tongue.

4:10  And Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

4:10  Ale Mojžíš Hospodinu namítal: „Prosím, Panovníku, nejsem člověk výmluvný; nebyl jsem dříve, nejsem ani nyní, když ke svému služebníku mluvíš. Mám neobratná ústa a neobratný jazyk.“

4:10  Mojžíš ale Hospodinu odporoval: „Promiň, Pane můj, ale nejsem výřečný člověk – ani dříve, ani teď, když jsi promluvil ke svému služebníku. Vždyť se mi plete jazyk v ústech!“

4:10  Mojžíš Hospodinu odpověděl: Dovol, Panovníku, nikdy jsem nebyl ⌈výmluvným člověkem,⌉ ani předtím, ani od té doby, co jsi promluvil ke svému otroku, protože jsem těžkopádných úst a těžkopádného jazyka.

4:10  I řekl Mojžíš Hospodinu: Prosím, Pane, nejsem muž výmluvný, aniž prvé, ani jakž jsi mluvil s služebníkem svým; nebo zpozdilých úst a neohbitého jazyku jsem.

4:10  And Moses said to the LORD, O my Lord, I [am] not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoke to thy servant: but I [am] slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

4:10  Moses said to the Lord, "Oh, Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before now, nor since you have spoken to your servant; for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue."

4:10  And Moses said to the LORD, O my LORD, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since you have spoken to your servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

4:10  Ait Moyses : Obsecro, Domine, non sum eloquens ab heri et nudiustertius : et ex quo locutus es ad servum tuum, impeditioris et tardioris linguæ sum.

4:11  The Lord said to him: Who made man's mouth? or who made the dumb and the deaf, the seeing and the blind? did not I?

4:11  And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the Lord?

4:11  Hospodin mu však řekl: „Kdo dal člověku ústa? Kdo působí, že je člověk němý nebo hluchý, vidící nebo slepý? Zdali ne já, Hospodin?

4:11  „Kdo dal člověku ústa?“ odpověděl mu Hospodin. „Kdo může někoho učinit němým nebo hluchým, vidoucím nebo slepým? Kdo jiný než já, Hospodin?

4:11  Hospodin mu však řekl: Kdo dal člověku ústa? Či kdo učiní němého nebo hluchého, vidícího nebo slepého? Zdali ne já, Hospodin?

4:11  Jemuž odpověděl Hospodin: Kdo dal ústa člověku? Aneb kdo může učiniti němého, neb hluchého, vidoucího, neb slepého? Zdali ne já Hospodin?

4:11  And the LORD said to him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD.

4:11  The Lord said to him, "Who made man's mouth? Or who makes one mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Isn't it I, the Lord?

4:11  And the LORD said to him, Who has made man's mouth? or who makes the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?

4:11  Dixit Dominus ad eum : Quis fecit os hominis ? aut quis fabricatus est mutum et surdum, videntem et cæcum ? nonne ego ?

4:12  Go therefore, and I will be in thy mouth; and I will teach thee what thou shalt speak.

4:12  Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.

4:12  Nyní jdi, já sám budu s tvými ústy a budu tě učit, co máš mluvit!“

4:13  But he said: I beseech thee, Lord, send whom thou wilt send.

4:13  And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.

4:13  Ale Mojžíš odmítl: „Prosím, Panovníku, pošli si, koho chceš.“

4:13  Mojžíš ale řekl: „Promiň, Pane můj; pošli prosím někoho jiného.“

4:13  Nato odpověděl: Dovol, Panovníku, pošli prosím, ⌈někoho jiného, koho pošleš.⌉

4:13  I řekl: Slyš mne, Pane, pošli, prosím, toho, kteréhož poslati máš.

4:13  And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand [of him whom] thou wilt send.

4:13  He said, "Oh, Lord, please send someone else."

4:13  And he said, O my LORD, send, I pray you, by the hand of him whom you will send.

4:13  At ille : Obsecro, inquit, Domine, mitte quem missurus es.

4:14  The Lord being angry at Moses, said: Aaron the Levite is thy brother, I know that he is eloquent: behold he cometh forth to meet thee, and seeing thee, shall be glad at heart.

4:14  And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.

4:14  Tu Hospodin vzplanul proti Mojžíšovi hněvem a řekl: „Což nemáš bratra Árona, toho lévijce? Znám ho, ten umí mluvit. Jde ti už naproti a bude se srdečně radovat, až tě uvidí.

4:14  Tehdy se na něj Hospodin rozhněval: „A co tvůj bratr, levita Áron? Mám za to, že je výřečný dost! Podívej se, už ti jde naproti. Až tě uvidí, bude mít velikou radost.

4:14  Hospodin vzplanul proti Mojžíšovi hněvem a řekl: Cožpak není lévita Áron tvůj bratr? Vím, že on umí dobře mluvit! Nadto hle, vychází ti naproti a když tě uvidí, bude se ze srdce radovat.

4:14  A rozhněvav se velmi Hospodin na Mojžíše, řekl: Zdaliž nemáš Arona bratra svého z pokolení Léví? Vím, že on výmluvný jest; ano aj, sám vyjde v cestu tobě, a vida tebe, radovati se bude v srdci svém.

4:14  And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, [Is] not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.

4:14  The anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and he said, "What about Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Also, behold, he comes forth to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.

4:14  And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he comes forth to meet you: and when he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.

4:14  Iratus Dominus in Moysen, ait : Aaron frater tuus Levites, scio quod eloquens sit : ecce ipse egreditur in occursum tuum, vidensque te lætabitur corde.

4:15  Speak to him, and put my words in his mouth: and I will be in thy mouth, and in his month, and will shew you what you must do.

4:15  And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.

4:15  Budeš k němu mluvit a vkládat mu slova do úst. Já budu s tvými ústy i s jeho ústy a budu vás poučovat, co máte činit.

4:15  And thou shalt speak to him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.

4:15  Loquere ad eum, et pone verba mea in ore ejus : et ego ero in ore tuo, et in ore illius, et ostendam vobis quid agere debeatis.

4:16  He shall speak in thy stead to the people, and shall be thy mouth: but thou shalt be to him in those things that pertain to God.

4:16  And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.

4:16  On bude mluvit k lidu za tebe, on bude tobě ústy a ty budeš jemu Bohem.

4:16  On bude mluvit k lidu za tebe, a tak se stane, že on ti bude za ústa a ty mu budeš za Boha.

4:16  And he shall speak for thee to the people: and he shall be, [even] he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.

4:16  He will be your spokesman to the people; and it will happen, that he will be to you a mouth, and you will be to him as God.

4:16  And he shall be your spokesman to the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to you instead of a mouth, and you shall be to him instead of God.

4:16  Ipse loquetur pro te ad populum, et erit os tuum : tu autem eris ei in his quæ ad Deum pertinent.

4:17  And take this rod in thy hand. wherewith thou shalt do the signs.

4:17  And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.

4:17  A tuto hůl vezmi do ruky; budeš jí konat znamení.“

4:17  A tu hůl vezmi s sebou. Budeš s ní konat divy!“

4:17  And thou shalt take this rod in thy hand, with which thou shalt perform signs.

4:18  Moses went his way, and returned to Jethro his father in law, and said to him; I will go and return to my brethren into Egypt, that I may see if they be yet alive. And Jethro said to him: Go in peace.
