2:3  Dbej na to, co ti svěřil Hospodin, tvůj Bůh: Choď po jeho cestách a dodržuj jeho nařízení a přikázání, jeho práva a svědectví, jak jsou zapsána v zákoně Mojžíšově, a tak budeš mít úspěch ve všem, co budeš konat, ať se obrátíš kamkoli.

2:3  a zachovávej, co ti svěřil Hospodin, tvůj Bůh. Choď po jeho cestách, dodržuj jeho ustanovení, přikázání, pravidla i svědectví zapsaná v Mojžíšově zákoně, aby se ti dařilo vše, co podnikneš, všude, kam se obrátíš.

2:3  Zachovávej řád Hospodina, svého Boha, choď po jeho cestách a zachovávej jeho ustanovení, příkazy, nařízení a svědectví, jak je napsáno v Mojžíšově zákoně, abys měl úspěch ve všem, co budeš dělat a kamkoliv se obrátíš,

2:3  A ostříhej přikázaní Hospodina Boha svého, chodě po cestách jeho, a zachovávaje ustanovení jeho, rozkázaní jeho, i soudy jeho i svědectví jeho, jakož psáno jest v zákoně Mojžíšově, ať by se šťastně vedlo, což bys koli činil, i všecko, k čemuž bys se obrátil,

2:4  That the Lord may confirm his words, which he hath spoken of me, saying: If thy children shall take heed to their ways, and shall walk before me in truth, with all their heart, and with all their soul, there shall not be taken away from thee a man on the throne of Israel.

2:4  A Hospodin splní své slovo, které mi dal: ‚Budou-li tvoji synové dbát na svou cestu tak, aby chodili přede mnou věrně celým srdcem a celou duší, nebude z izraelského trůnu vyhlazen následník z tvého rodu.‘

2:4  Potom Hospodin splní slovo, které mi dal: ‚Budou-li tví synové dbát na svou cestu a budou-li věrně, z celého srdce a ze vší duše žít přede mnou, pak na izraelském trůnu nikdy nebude chybět tvůj potomek.‘

2:4  a aby Hospodin naplnil své slovo, které ke mně promluvil: Jestliže budou tvoji synové dbát na svou cestu a ⌈chodit přede mnou⌉ věrně, ⌈celým svým srdcem⌉ a celou svou duší, nebude ti vyhlazen muž z izraelského trůnu.

2:4  A aby naplnil Hospodin slovo své, kteréž mi zaslíbil, mluvě: Budou-li ostříhati synové tvoji cesty své, chodíce přede mnou v pravdě z celého srdce svého a z celé duše své, tak mluvě: Že nebude vypléněn po tobě muž z stolice Izraelské.

2:5  Moreover thou knowest also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Israel, unto Abner the son of Ner, and unto Amasa the son of Jether, whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war upon his girdle that was about his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet.

2:5  Ty také víš, co mi udělal Jóab, syn Serújin, co udělal dvěma velitelům izraelských vojsk, Abnérovi, synu Nérovu, a Amasovi, synu Jeterovu: Zabil je a dopustil se válečného krveprolití v čas pokoje. Krví prolitou jako ve válce si potřísnil opasek na svých bedrech a opánky na svých nohou.

2:5  Víš také, co mi provedl Joáb, syn Ceruji – co provedl dvěma izraelským vojevůdcům – Abnerovi, synu Nerovu, a Amasovi, synu Jeterovu. Zavraždil je, prolil jejich krev jako ve válečné řeži, ačkoli byl mír. Prolitou krví potřísnil pás na svých bedrech i obuv na svých nohou.

2:5  Ty také víš, co mi udělal Jóab, syn Serújin, co udělal dvěma velitelům izraelské armády, Abnérovi, synu Nérovu, a Amasovi, synu Jeterovu: Zabil je a prolil válečnou krev v míru a vložil válečnou krev na pás na svých bedrech a na boty na svých nohách.

2:5  Také i tom víš, co jest mi učinil Joáb syn Sarvie, totiž, co učinil dvěma hejtmanům vojsk Izraelských, Abnerovi synu Ner, a Amazovi synu Jeter, že je zamordoval, dopustiv se vraždy lstivé v čas pokoje, a zmazal krví zrádně vylitou pás svůj rytířský, kterýž měl na bedrách svých, a obuv svou, kterouž měl na nohách svých.

2:6  Do, therefore, according to thy wisdom, and let not his hoary head go down to hell in peace.

2:7  Synům Barzilaje Gileádského však prokážeš milosrdenství. Ať jsou mezi těmi, kdo jedí u tvého stolu, neboť právě tak se zachovali ke mně, když jsem prchal před tvým bratrem Abšalómem.

2:8  And, behold, thou hast with thee Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite of Bahurim, which cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim: but he came down to meet me at Jordan, and I sware to him by the Lord, saying, I will not put thee to death with the sword.

2:8  Je tu u tebe i Šimeí, syn Gérův, Benjamínec z Bachurímu, který mi zlořečil strašlivým způsobem v den, kdy jsem odcházel do Machanajimu. Ale potom mi vyšel vstříc dolů k Jordánu a já jsem mu při Hospodinu přísahal: ‚Neusmrtím tě mečem.‘

2:8  Hle, máš u sebe také Šimeiho, syna Gerova, Benjamínce z Bachurim. Tenkrát, když jsem šel do Machanajim, zlořečil mi hroznými kletbami. Potom mi vyšel vstříc k Jordánu a já jsem mu přísahal při Hospodinu, že ho nezabiji.

2:8  Hle, je u tebe Šimeí, syn Gérův, Benjamínec z Bachurímu. Ten mě proklínal hroznou kletbou v den, kdy jsem šel do Machanajimu. Pak mi vyšel vstříc k Jordánu a přísahal jsem mu při Hospodinu: Neusmrtím tě mečem.

2:8  Hle, máš také v moci své Semei syna Gery Beniaminského z Bahurim, kterýž mi zlořečil zlořečením velikým v ten den, když jsem šel do Mahanaim, ačkoli potom vyšel mi vstříc k Jordánu, jemuž jsem přisáhl skrze Hospodina, řka: Nezabiji tě mečem.

2:13  Adónijáš, syn Chagítin, přišel k Šalomounově matce Bat-šebě. Otázala se: „Přicházíš pokojně?“ Odpověděl: „Pokojně.“

2:15  Řekl: „Ty víš, že království patřilo mně a že na mne se obrátil celý Izrael s žádostí, abych kraloval. Ale království připadlo mému bratru. Má je od Hospodina.

2:15  He said, "You know that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign. However the kingdom is turned around, and has become my brother's; for it was his from the Lord.

2:44  Král dále Šimeímu řekl: Ty znáš ⌈a svědomí ti dosvědčuje všechno zlo,⌉ které jsi spáchal vůči mému otci Davidovi. Hospodin obrátil tvé zlo na tvou hlavu.
