Chapter 43
Isai DRC 43:1  And now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and formed thee, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed thee, and called thee by thy name: thou art mine.
Isai VulgClem 43:1  Et nunc hæc dicit Dominus creans te, Jacob, et formans te, Israël : Noli timere, quia redemi te, et vocavi te nomine tuo : meus es tu.
Isai KJV 43:1  But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
Isai DRC 43:2  When thou shalt pass through the waters, I will be with thee, and the rivers shall not cover thee: when thou shalt walk in the fire, thou shalt not be burnt, and the flames shall not burn in thee:
Isai VulgClem 43:2  Cum transieris per aquas, tecum ero, et flumina non operient te ; cum ambulaveris in igne, non combureris, et flamma non ardebit in te.
Isai KJV 43:2  When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Isai DRC 43:3  For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I have given Egypt for thy atonement, Ethiopia and Saba for thee.
Isai VulgClem 43:3  Quia ego Dominus Deus tuus, Sanctus Israël, salvator tuus, dedi propitiationem tuam Ægyptum, Æthopiam, et Saba, pro te.
Isai KJV 43:3  For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
Isai DRC 43:4  Since thou becamest honourable in my eyes, thou art glorious: I have loved thee, and I will give men for thee, and people for thy life.
Isai KJV 43:4  Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
Isai DRC 43:5  Fear not, for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west.
Isai KJV 43:5  Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;
Isai DRC 43:6  I will say to the north: Give up: and to the south: Keep not back: bring my sons from afar, and my daughters from the ends of the earth.
Isai KJV 43:6  I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;
Isai DRC 43:7  And every one that calleth upon my name, I have created him for my glory. I have formed him, and made him.
Isai VulgClem 43:7  Et omnem qui invocat nomen meum, in gloriam meam creavi eum, formavi eum, et feci eum.
Isai KJV 43:7  Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.
Isai DRC 43:8  Bring forth the people that are blind, and have eyes: that are deaf, and have ears.
Isai KJV 43:8  Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.
Isai DRC 43:9  All the nations are assembled together, and the tribes are gathered: who among you can declare this, and shall make us hear the former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, let them be justified, and hear, and say: It is truth.
Isai KJV 43:9  Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth.
Isai DRC 43:10  You are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that you may know, and believe me, and understand that I myself am. Before me there was no God formed, and after me there shall be none.
Isai VulgClem 43:10  Vos testes mei, dicit Dominus, et servus meus quem elegi : ut sciatis, et credatis mihi, et intelligatis quia ego ipse sum ; ante me non est formatus Deus, et post me non erit.
Isai KJV 43:10  Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
Isai DRC 43:11  I am, I am the Lord: and there is no saviour besides me.
Isai KJV 43:11  I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour.
Isai DRC 43:12  I have declared, and have saved. I have made it heard, and there was no strange one among you. You are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and I am God.
Isai KJV 43:12  I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God.
Isai DRC 43:13  And from the beginning I am the same, and there is none that can deliver out of my hind: I will work, and who shall turn it away?
Isai KJV 43:13  Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?
Isai DRC 43:14  Thus saith the Lord your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: For your sake I sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their bars, and the Chaldeans glorying in their ships.
Isai VulgClem 43:14  Hæc dicit Dominus, redemptor vester, Sanctus Israël : Propter vos misi in Babylonem, et detraxi vectes universos, et Chaldæos in navibus suis gloriantes.
Isai KJV 43:14  Thus saith the Lord, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.
Isai DRC 43:15  I am the Lord your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King.
Isai VulgClem 43:15  Ego Dominus, Sanctus vester, creans Israël, rex vester.
Isai KJV 43:15  I am the Lord, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.
Isai DRC 43:16  Thus saith the Lord, who made a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters.
Isai VulgClem 43:16  Hæc dicit Dominus, qui dedit in mari viam, et in aquis torrentibus semitam ;
Isai KJV 43:16  Thus saith the Lord, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;
Isai DRC 43:17  Who brought forth the chariot and the horse, the army and the strong: they lay down to sleep together, and they shall not rise again: they are broken as flax, and are extinct.
Isai KJV 43:17  Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.
Isai DRC 43:18  Remember not former things, and look not on things of old.
Isai KJV 43:18  Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
Isai DRC 43:19  Behold I do new things, and now they shall spring forth, verily you shall know them: I will make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Isai VulgClem 43:19  Ecce ego facio nova, et nunc orientur, utique cognoscetis ea : ponam in deserto viam, et in invio flumina.
Isai KJV 43:19  Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Isai DRC 43:20  The beast of the field shall glorify me, the dragons and the ostriches: because I have given waters in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, to my chosen.
Isai VulgClem 43:20  Glorificabit me bestia agri, dracones, et struthiones : quia dedi in deserto aquas, flumina in invio, ut darem potum populo meo, electo meo.
Isai KJV 43:20  The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.
Isai DRC 43:21  This people have I formed for myself, they shall shew forth my praise.
Isai VulgClem 43:21  Populum istum formavi mihi : laudem meam narrabit.
Isai KJV 43:21  This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.
Isai DRC 43:22  But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob, neither hast thou laboured about me, O Israel.
Isai VulgClem 43:22  Non me invocasti, Jacob, nec laborasti in me, Israël.
Isai KJV 43:22  But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel.
Isai DRC 43:23  Thou hast not offered me the ram of thy holocaust, nor hast thou glorified me with thy victims: I have not caused thee to serve with oblations, nor wearied thee with incense.
Isai KJV 43:23  Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve with an offering, nor wearied thee with incense.
Isai DRC 43:24  Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy victims. But thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thy iniquities.
Isai VulgClem 43:24  Non emisti mihi argento calamum, et adipe victimarum tuarum non inebriasti me : verumtamen servire me fecisti in peccatis tuis ; præbuisti mihi laborem in iniquitatibus tuis.
Isai KJV 43:24  Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.
Isai DRC 43:25  I am, I am he that blot out thy iniquities for my own sake, and I will not remember thy sins.
Isai KJV 43:25  I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
Isai DRC 43:26  Put me in remembrance, and let us plead together: tell if thou hast any thing to justify thyself.
Isai KJV 43:26  Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.
Isai DRC 43:27  Thy first father sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me.
Isai VulgClem 43:27  Pater tuus primus peccavit, et interpretes tui prævaricati sunt in me :
Isai KJV 43:27  Thy first father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me.
Isai DRC 43:28  And I have profaned the holy princes, I have given Jacob to slaughter, and Israel to reproach.
Isai KJV 43:28  Therefore I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the curse, and Israel to reproaches.
