Chapter 5
Jere DRC 5:1  Go about through the streets of Jerusalem, and see, and consider, and seek in the broad places thereof, if you can find a man that executeth judgment, and seeketh faith: and I will be merciful unto it.
Jere KJV 5:1  Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.
Jere CzeBKR 5:1  Zběhejte ulice Jeruzalémské, pohleďte nyní, a zvězte, a hledejte v ulicích jeho, naleznete-li muže, jest-li kdo, ješto by činil soud, a vyhledával toho, což pravého jest, a odpustím jemu.
Jere Webster 5:1  Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in its broad places, if ye can find a man, if there is [any] that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.
Jere NHEB 5:1  "Run back and forth through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places of it, if you can find a man, if there are any who does justly, who seeks truth; and I will pardon her.
Jere AKJV 5:1  Run you to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if you can find a man, if there be any that executes judgment, that seeks the truth; and I will pardon it.
Jere VulgClem 5:1  Circuite vias Jerusalem, et aspicite, et considerate, et quærite in plateis ejus, an inveniatis virum facientem judicium, et quærentem fidem : et propitius ero ei.
Jere DRC 5:2  And though they say: The Lord liveth; this also they will swear falsely.
Jere KJV 5:2  And though they say, The Lord liveth; surely they swear falsely.
Jere CzeCEP 5:2  Říkají-li: ‚Jakože živ je Hospodin‘, jistě přísahají křivě.“
Jere CzeB21 5:2  I když říkají: ‚Jakože Hospodin žije,‘ stejně přísahají křivě!“
Jere CzeCSP 5:2  I když říkají: Jakože živ je Hospodin, jistě přísahají lživě.
Jere CzeBKR 5:2  Ale i když říkají: Živť jest Hospodin, takovým způsobem křivě přisahají.
Jere Webster 5:2  And though they say, The LORD liveth; surely they swear falsely.
Jere NHEB 5:2  Though they say, 'As the Lord lives;' surely they swear falsely."
Jere AKJV 5:2  And though they say, The LORD lives; surely they swear falsely.
Jere DRC 5:3  O Lord, thy eyes are upon truth: thou hast struck them, and they have not grieved: thou hast bruised them, and they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than the rock, and they have refused to return.
Jere KJV 5:3  O Lord, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.
Jere Webster 5:3  O LORD, [are] not thy eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, [but] they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.
Jere NHEB 5:3  O Lord, do your eyes not look on truth? You have stricken them, but they were not grieved. You have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction. They have made their faces harder than a rock. They have refused to return.
Jere AKJV 5:3  O LORD, are not your eyes on the truth? you have stricken them, but they have not grieved; you have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.
Jere DRC 5:4  But I said: Perhaps these are poor and foolish, that know not the way of the Lord, the judgment of their God.
Jere KJV 5:4  Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the Lord, nor the judgment of their God.
Jere Webster 5:4  Therefore I said, Surely these [are] poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, [nor] the judgment of their God.
Jere NHEB 5:4  Then I said, "Surely these are poor. They are foolish; for they do not know the way of the Lord, nor the law of their God.
Jere AKJV 5:4  Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God.
Jere DRC 5:5  I will go therefore to the great men, and will speak to them: for they have known the way of the Lord, the judgment of their God: and behold these have altogether broken the yoke more, and have burst the bonds.
Jere KJV 5:5  I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the Lord, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.
Jere CzeCSP 5:5  Zajdu si k ⌈vysoko postaveným⌉ a promluvím si s nimi, protože oni znají Hospodinovu cestu, nařízení svého Boha. Jenže i tihle zlomili jho, zpřetrhali pouta.
Jere Webster 5:5  I will go to the great men, and will speak to them; for they have known the way of the LORD, [and] the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, [and] burst the bonds.
Jere NHEB 5:5  I will go to the great men, and will speak to them; for they know the way of the Lord, and the law of their God." But these with one accord have broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.
Jere AKJV 5:5  I will get me to the great men, and will speak to them; for they have known the way of the LORD, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.
Jere DRC 5:6  Wherefore a lion out of the wood hath slain them, a wolf in the evening hath spoiled them, a leopard watcheth for their cities: every one that shall go out thence shall be taken, because their transgressions are multiplied, their rebellions are strengthened.
Jere KJV 5:6  Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.
Jere Webster 5:6  Wherefore a lion from the forest shall slay them, [and] a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, [and] their backslidings are increased.
Jere NHEB 5:6  Therefore a lion out of the forest shall kill them, a wolf of the evenings shall destroy them, a leopard shall watch against their cities; everyone who goes out there shall be torn in pieces; because their transgressions are many, and their backsliding is increased.
Jere AKJV 5:6  Why a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goes out there shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.
Jere DRC 5:7  How can I be merciful to thee? thy children have forsaken me, and swear by them that are not gods: I fed them to the full, and they committed adultery, and rioted in the harlot's house.
Jere KJV 5:7  How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots’ houses.
Jere CzeCEP 5:7  „Jak bych ti to mohl odpustit? Tvoji synové mě opustili a přísahají při tom, co není Bůh. Sytím je, a oni cizoloží, v domě nevěstky si zasazují smuteční zářezy.
Jere CzeB21 5:7  „Jak ti to mohu odpustit? Tví synové mě opustili a přísahají skrze nebohy.
Jere CzeBKR 5:7  Kdež jest to, pročež bych měl odpustiti tobě? Synové tvoji opouštějí mne, a přisahají skrze ty, kteříž nejsou bohové.
Jere Webster 5:7  How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by [them that are] no gods: when I had fed them to the full, then they committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses.
Jere NHEB 5:7  "How can I pardon you? Your children have forsaken me, and sworn by what are no gods. When I had fed them to the full, they committed adultery, and assembled themselves in troops at the prostitutes' houses.
Jere AKJV 5:7  How shall I pardon you for this? your children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses.
Jere DRC 5:8  They are become as amorous horses and stallions: every one neighed after his neighbour's wife.
Jere KJV 5:8  They were as fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour’s wife.
Jere Webster 5:8  They were [as] fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbor's wife.
Jere NHEB 5:8  They were as fed horses roaming at large: everyone neighed after his neighbor's wife.

Jere DRC 5:9  Shall I not visit for these things, saith the Lord? and shall not my soul take revenge on such a nation?
Jere KJV 5:9  Shall I not visit for these things? saith the Lord: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
A zdali nad národem takovým nemá mstíti duše má?
Jere Webster 5:9  Shall I not visit for these [things]? saith the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
Jere NHEB 5:9  Shouldn't I punish them for these things?" says the Lord; "and shouldn't my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
Jere AKJV 5:9  Shall I not visit for these things? said the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
Jere DRC 5:10  Scale the walls thereof, and throw them down, but do not utterly destroy: take away the branches thereof, because they are not the Lord's.
Jere KJV 5:10  Go ye up upon her walls, and destroy; but make not a full end: take away her battlements; for they are not the Lord’s.

Jere Webster 5:15  Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the LORD: it [is] a mighty nation, it [is] an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say.

I have set the sand a bound for the sea, an everlasting ordinance, which it shall not pass over: and the waves thereof shall toss themselves, and shall not prevail: they shall swell, and shall not pass over it.
Jere KJV 5:22  Fear ye not me? saith the Lord: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?
