34:1  And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

34:1  Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens :

34:1  And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

34:2  Command the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: When you are entered into the land of Chanaan, and it shall be fallen into your possession by lot, it shall be bounded by these limits:

34:2  Præcipe filiis Israël, et dices ad eos : Cum ingressi fueritis terram Chanaan, et in possessionem vobis sorte ceciderit, his finibus terminabitur.

34:2  Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land of Canaan; (this is the land that shall fall unto you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan with the coasts thereof:)

34:3  The south side shall begin from the wilderness of Sin, which is by Edom: and shall have the most salt sea for its furthest limits eastward:

34:3  Pars meridiana incipiet a solitudine Sin, quæ est juxta Edom : et habebit terminos contra orientem mare salsissimum.

34:3  Then your south quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the coast of Edom, and your south border shall be the outmost coast of the salt sea eastward:

34:4  Which limits shall go round on the south side by the ascent of the Scorpion and so into Senna, and reach toward the south as far as Cadesbarne, from whence the frontiers shall go out to the town called Adar, and shall reach as far as Asemona.

34:4  Qui circuibunt australem plagam per ascensum Scorpionis, ita ut transeant in Senna, et perveniant a meridie usque ad Cadesbarne, unde egredientur confinia ad villam nomine Adar, et tendent usque ad Asemona.

34:4  And your border shall turn from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin: and the going forth thereof shall be from the south to Kadesh–barnea, and shall go on to Hazar–addar, and pass on to Azmon:

34:5  And the limits shall fetch a compass from Asemona to the torrent of Egypt, and shall end in the shore of the great sea.

34:5  Ibitque per gyrum terminus ab Asemona usque ad torrentem Ægypti, et maris magni littore finietur.

34:5  And the border shall fetch a compass from Azmon unto the river of Egypt, and the goings out of it shall be at the sea.

34:6  And the west side shall begin from the great sea, and the same shall be the end thereof.

34:6  Plaga autem occidentalis a mari magno incipiet, et ipso fine claudetur.

34:6  And as for the western border, ye shall even have the great sea for a border: this shall be your west border.

34:7  But toward the north side the borders shall begin from the great sea, reaching to the most high mountain,

34:7  Porro ad septentrionalem plagam a mari magno termini incipient, pervenientes usque ad montem altissimum,

34:7  And this shall be your north border: from the great sea ye shall point out for you mount Hor:

34:8  From which they shall come to Emath, as far as the borders of Sedada:

34:8  a quo venient in Emath usque ad terminos Sedada :

34:8  From mount Hor ye shall point out your border unto the entrance of Hamath; and the goings forth of the border shall be to Zedad:

34:9  And the limits shall go as far as Zephrona, and the village of Enan. These shall be the borders on the north side.

34:9  ibuntque confinia usque ad Zephrona, et villam Enan. Hi erunt termini in parte aquilonis.

34:9  And the border shall go on to Ziphron, and the goings out of it shall be at Hazar–enan: this shall be your north border.

34:10  From thence they shall mark out the grounds towards the east side from the village of Enan unto Sephama.

34:10  Inde metabuntur fines contra orientalem plagam de villa Enan usque Sephama,

34:10  And ye shall point out your east border from Hazar–enan to Shepham:

34:11  And from Sephama the bounds shall go down to Rebla over against the fountain of Daphnis: from thence they shall come eastward to the sea of Cenereth,

34:11  et de Sephama descendent termini in Rebla contra fontem Daphnim : inde pervenient contra orientem ad mare Cenereth,

34:11  And the coast shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain; and the border shall descend, and shall reach unto the side of the sea of Chinnereth eastward:

34:12  And shall reach as far as the Jordan, and at the last shall be closed in by the most salt sea. This shall be your land with its borders round about.

34:12  et tendent usque ad Jordanem, et ad ultimum salsissimo claudentur mari. Hanc habebitis terram per fines suos in circuitu.

34:12  And the border shall go down to Jordan, and the goings out of it shall be at the salt sea: this shall be your land with the coasts thereof round about.

34:13  And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying: This shall be the land which you shall possess by lot, and which the Lord hath commanded to be given to the nine tribes, and to the half tribe.

34:13  Præcepitque Moyses filiis Israël, dicens : Hæc erit terra, quam possidebitis sorte, et quam jussit Dominus dari novem tribubus, et dimidiæ tribui.

34:13  And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, This is the land which ye shall inherit by lot, which the Lord commanded to give unto the nine tribes, and to the half tribe:

34:14  For the tribe of the children of Ruben by their families, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the number of their kindreds, and half of the tribe of Manasses,

34:14  Tribus enim filiorum Ruben per familias suas, et tribus filiorum Gad juxta cognationum numerum, media quoque tribus Manasse,

34:14  For the tribe of the children of Reuben according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the house of their fathers, have received their inheritance; and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance:

34:15  That is, two tribes and a half, have received their portion beyond the Jordan over against Jericho at the east side.

34:15  id est, duæ semis tribus, acceperunt partem suam trans Jordanem contra Jericho ad orientalem plagam.

34:15  The two tribes and the half tribe have received their inheritance on this side Jordan near Jericho eastward, toward the sunrising.

34:16  And the Lord said to Moses:

34:16  Et ait Dominus ad Moysen :

34:16  And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

34:17  These are the names of the men, that shall divide the land unto you: Eleazar the priest, and Josue the son of Nun,

34:17  Hæc sunt nomina virorum qui terram vobis divident, Eleazar sacerdos, et Josue filius Nun,

34:17  These are the names of the men which shall divide the land unto you: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun.

34:18  And one prince of every tribe,

34:18  et singuli principes de tribubus singulis,

34:18  And ye shall take one prince of every tribe, to divide the land by inheritance.

34:19  Whose names are these: Of the tribe of Juda, Caleb the son of Jephone.

34:19  quorum ista sunt vocabula. De tribu Juda, Caleb filius Jephone.

34:19  And the names of the men are these: Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

34:20  Of the tribe of Simeon, Samuel the son of Ammiud.

34:20  De tribu Simeon, Samuel filius Ammiud.

34:20  And of the tribe of the children of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud.

34:21  Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chaselon.

34:21  De tribu Benjamin, Elidad filius Chaselon.

34:21  Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon.

34:22  Of the tribe of the children of Dan, Bocci the son of Jogli.

34:22  De tribu filiorum Dan, Bocci filius Jogli.

34:22  And the prince of the tribe of the children of Dan, Bukki the son of Jogli.

34:23  Of the children of Joseph of the tribe of Manasses, Hanniel the son of Ephod.

34:23  Filiorum Joseph de tribu Manasse, Hanniel filius Ephod.

34:23  The prince of the children of Joseph, for the tribe of the children of Manasseh, Hanniel the son of Ephod.

34:24  Of the tribe of Ephraim, Camuel the son of Sephtan.

34:24  De tribu Ephraim, Camuel filius Sephthan.

34:24  And the prince of the tribe of the children of Ephraim, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan.

34:25  Of the tribe of Zabulon, Elisaphan the son of Pharnach.

34:25  De tribu Zabulon, Elisaphan filius Pharnach.

34:25  And the prince of the tribe of the children of Zebulun, Elizaphan the son of Parnach.

34:26  Of the tribe of Issachar, Phaltiel the prince, the son of Ozan.

34:26  De tribu Issachar, dux Phaltiel filius Ozan.

34:26  And the prince of the tribe of the children of Issachar, Paltiel the son of Azzan.

34:27  Of the tribe of Aser, Ahiud the son of Salomi.

34:27  De tribu Aser, Ahiud filius Salomi.

34:27  And the prince of the tribe of the children of Asher, Ahihud the son of Shelomi.

34:28  Of the tribe of Nephtali: Phedael the son of Ammiud.

34:28  De tribu Nephthali, Phedaël filius Ammiud.

34:28  And the prince of the tribe of the children of Naphtali, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.

34:29  These are they Whom the Lord hath commanded to divide the land of Chanaan to the children of Israel.

34:29  Hi sunt, quibus præcepit Dominus ut dividerent filiis Israël terram Chanaan.

34:29  These are they whom the Lord commanded to divide the inheritance unto the children of Israel in the land of Canaan.
