Chapter 139
Psal DRC 139:1  Unto the end, a psalm of David.
Psal VulgClem 139:1  In finem. Psalmus David.
Psal KJV 139:1  O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
Psal DRC 139:2  Deliver me, O Lord, from the evil man: rescue me from the unjust man.
Psal VulgClem 139:2  Eripe me, Domine, ab homine malo ; a viro iniquo eripe me.
Psal KJV 139:2  Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
Psal DRC 139:3  Who have devised iniquities in their hearts: all the day long they designed battles.
Psal VulgClem 139:3  Qui cogitaverunt iniquitates in corde, tota die constituebant prælia.
Psal KJV 139:3  Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
Psal DRC 139:4  They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent: the venom of asps is under their lips.
Psal VulgClem 139:4  Acuerunt linguas suas sicut serpentis ; venenum aspidum sub labiis eorum.
Psal KJV 139:4  For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.
Psal DRC 139:5  Keep me, O Lord, from the hand of the wicked: and from unjust men deliver me. Who have proposed to supplant my steps:
Psal VulgClem 139:5  Custodi me, Domine, de manu peccatoris, et ab hominibus iniquis eripe me. Qui cogitaverunt supplantare gressus meos :
Psal KJV 139:5  Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
Psal DRC 139:6  The proud have hidden a net for me. And they have stretched out cords for a snare: they have laid for me a stumblingblock by the wayside.
Psal VulgClem 139:6  absconderunt superbi laqueum mihi. Et funes extenderunt in laqueum ; juxta iter, scandalum posuerunt mihi.
Psal KJV 139:6  Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
Psal DRC 139:7  I said to the Lord: Thou art my God: hear, O Lord, the voice of my supplication.
Psal VulgClem 139:7  Dixi Domino : Deus meus es tu ; exaudi, Domine, vocem deprecationis meæ.
Psal KJV 139:7  Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
Psal DRC 139:8  O Lord, Lord, the strength of my salvation: thou hast overshadowed my head in the day of battle.
Psal VulgClem 139:8  Domine, Domine, virtus salutis meæ, obumbrasti super caput meum in die belli.
Psal KJV 139:8  If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
Psal DRC 139:9  Give me not up, O Lord, from my desire to the wicked: they have plotted against me; do not thou forsake me, lest they should triumph.
Psal VulgClem 139:9  Ne tradas me, Domine, a desiderio meo peccatori : cogitaverunt contra me ; ne derelinquas me, ne forte exaltentur.
Psal KJV 139:9  If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
Psal DRC 139:10  The head of them compassing me about: the labour of their lips shall overwhelm them.
Psal VulgClem 139:10  Caput circuitus eorum : labor labiorum ipsorum operiet eos.
Psal KJV 139:10  Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
Psal DRC 139:11  Burning coals shall fall upon them; thou wilt cast them down into the fire: in miseries they shall not be able to stand.
Psal VulgClem 139:11  Cadent super eos carbones ; in ignem dejicies eos : in miseriis non subsistent.
Psal KJV 139:11  If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
Psal DRC 139:12  A man full of tongue shall not be established in the earth: evil shall catch the unjust man unto destruction.
Psal VulgClem 139:12  Vir linguosus non dirigetur in terra ; virum injustum mala capient in interitu.
Psal KJV 139:12  Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
Psal DRC 139:13  I know that the Lord will do justice to the needy, and will revenge the poor.
Psal VulgClem 139:13  Cognovi quia faciet Dominus judicium inopis, et vindictam pauperum.
Psal KJV 139:13  For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.
Psal DRC 139:14  But as for the just, they shall give glory to thy name: and the upright shall dwell with thy countenance.
Psal VulgClem 139:14  Verumtamen justi confitebuntur nomini tuo, et habitabunt recti cum vultu tuo.
Psal KJV 139:14  I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Psal KJV 139:15  My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

Psal KJV 139:16  Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

Psal KJV 139:20  For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.

Psal KJV 139:21  Do not I hate them, O Lord, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?

Psal KJV 139:24  And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
