Chapter 3
Gala RKJNT 3:1  O foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ has been publicly portrayed as crucified?
Gala RKJNT 3:2  This one thing I would learn from you, Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law, or by hearing with faith?
Gala RKJNT 3:3  Are you so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?
Gala RKJNT 3:4  Have you suffered so many things in vain? if it really was in vain.
Gala RKJNT 3:5  He who provides to you the Spirit, and works miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing with faith?
Gala RKJNT 3:6  Thus Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.
Gala RKJNT 3:7  Therefore, understand that those who are of faith are the children of Abraham.
Gala RKJNT 3:8  And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles through faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, In you shall all nations be blessed.
Gala RKJNT 3:9  So then, those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the man of faith.
Gala RKJNT 3:10  For all who depend on the works of the law are under a curse: for it is written, Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do all things which are written in the book of the law.
Gala RKJNT 3:11  But it is evident that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, for: The just shall live by faith.
Gala RKJNT 3:12  But the law does not rest on faith: rather, The man who does these things shall live by them.
Gala RKJNT 3:13  Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having been made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one who hangs on a tree.
Gala RKJNT 3:14  He redeemed us so that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Gala RKJNT 3:15  Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it is only a man's covenant, yet when it is ratified, no man annuls or adds to it.
Gala RKJNT 3:16  Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He does not say, And to seeds, as to many; but to one, And to your seed, which is Christ.
Gala RKJNT 3:17  And this is what I mean, that the law, which came four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant which was previously ratified by God, and thus make the promise void.
Gala RKJNT 3:18  For if the inheritance is based on the law, then it is no longer based on a promise: but God gave it to Abraham by a promise.
Gala RKJNT 3:19  Then what purpose does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, until the seed should come to whom the promise was made. It was ordained by angels through the hand of a mediator.
Gala RKJNT 3:20  Now a mediator is not for one party only, but God is one.
Gala RKJNT 3:21  Is the law then against the promises of God? Absolutely not: for if there had been a law given which could impart life, then righteousness truly would have been through the law.
Gala RKJNT 3:22  But the scripture has declared all to be prisoners of sin, so that the promise, given on the basis of faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.
Gala RKJNT 3:23  But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up until faith should be revealed.
Gala RKJNT 3:24  Therefore, the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Gala RKJNT 3:25  But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.
Gala RKJNT 3:26  For you are all sons of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Gala RKJNT 3:27  For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Gala RKJNT 3:28  There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Gala RKJNT 3:29  And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
