Chapter 5
I Th DRC 5:1  But of the times and moments, brethren, you need not, that we should write to you:
I Th KJV 5:1  But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
I Th DRC 5:2  For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord shall so come as a thief in the night.
I Th KJV 5:2  For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
I Th VulgClem 5:2  Ipsi enim diligenter scitis quia dies Domini, sicut fur in nocte, ita veniet :
I Th DRC 5:3  For when they shall say: Peace and security; then shall sudden destruction come upon them, as the pains upon her that is with child, and they shall not escape.
I Th KJV 5:3  For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
I Th DRC 5:4  But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you as a thief.
I Th KJV 5:4  But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
I Th DRC 5:5  For all you are the children of light and children of the day: we are not of the night nor of darkness.
I Th KJV 5:5  Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
I Th DRC 5:6  Therefore, let us not sleep, as others do: but let us watch, and be sober.
I Th KJV 5:6  Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
I Th DRC 5:7  For they that sleep, sleep in the night; and they that are drunk, are drunk in the night.
I Th KJV 5:7  For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
I Th DRC 5:8  But let us, who are of the day, be sober, having on the breast plate of faith and charity and, for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
I Th KJV 5:8  But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
I Th DRC 5:9  For God hath not appointed us unto wrath: but unto the purchasing of salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
I Th KJV 5:9  For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
I Th DRC 5:10  Who died for us: that, whether we watch or sleep, we may live together with him.
I Th KJV 5:10  Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
I Th DRC 5:11  For which cause comfort one another and edify one another, as you also do.
I Th KJV 5:11  Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
I Th DRC 5:12  And we beseech you, brethren, to know them who labour among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you;
I Th KJV 5:12  And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
I Th DRC 5:13  That you esteem them more abundantly in charity, for their work's sake. Have peace with them.
I Th KJV 5:13  And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
I Th VulgClem 5:13  ut habeatis illos abundantius in caritate propter opus illorum : pacem habete cum eis.
I Th DRC 5:14  And we beseech you, brethren, rebuke the unquiet: comfort the feeble minded: support the weak: be patient towards all men.
I Th KJV 5:14  Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
I Th VulgClem 5:14  Rogamus autem vos, fratres, corripite inquietos, consolamini pusillanimes, suscipite infirmos, patientes estote ad omnes.
I Th DRC 5:15  See that none render evil for evil to any man: but ever follow that which is good towards each other and towards all men.
I Th KJV 5:15  See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
I Th DRC 5:17  Pray without ceasing.
I Th KJV 5:17  Pray without ceasing.
I Th VulgClem 5:17  Sine intermissione orate.
I Th DRC 5:18  In all things give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you all.
I Th KJV 5:18  In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
I Th VulgClem 5:18  In omnibus gratias agite : hæc est enim voluntas Dei in Christo Jesu in omnibus vobis.
I Th DRC 5:19  Extinguish not the spirit.
I Th KJV 5:19  Quench not the Spirit.
I Th VulgClem 5:19  Spiritum nolite extinguere.
I Th DRC 5:20  Despise not prophecies.
I Th KJV 5:20  Despise not prophesyings.
I Th VulgClem 5:20  Prophetias nolite spernere.
I Th DRC 5:21  But prove all things: hold fast that which is good.
I Th KJV 5:21  Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
I Th DRC 5:22  From all appearance of evil refrain yourselves.
I Th KJV 5:22  Abstain from all appearance of evil.
I Th VulgClem 5:22  Ab omni specie mala abstinete vos.
I Th DRC 5:23  And may the God of peace himself sanctify you in all things: that your whole spirit and soul and body may be preserved blameless in the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I Th KJV 5:23  And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I Th DRC 5:24  He is faithful who hath called you, who also will do it.
I Th KJV 5:24  Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
I Th DRC 5:25  Brethren, pray for us.
I Th KJV 5:25  Brethren, pray for us.
