38:1  He made also the altar of holocaust of setim wood, five cubits square, and three in height:

38:1  And he made the altar of burnt offering of shittim wood: five cubits was the length thereof, and five cubits the breadth thereof; it was foursquare; and three cubits the height thereof.

38:1  Fecit et altare holocausti de lignis setim, quinque cubitorum per quadrum, et trium in altitudine :

38:2  The horns whereof went out from the corners, and he overlaid it with plates of brass.

38:2  And he made the horns thereof on the four corners of it; the horns thereof were of the same: and he overlaid it with brass.

38:2  cujus cornua de angulis procedebant, operuitque illum laminis æneis.

38:3  And for the uses thereof, he prepared divers vessels of brass, cauldrons, tongs, fleshhooks, pothooks and firepans.

38:3  And he made all the vessels of the altar, the pots, and the shovels, and the basons, and the fleshhooks, and the firepans: all the vessels thereof made he of brass.

38:3  Et in usus ejus paravit ex ære vasa diversa, lebetes, forcipes, fuscinulas, uncinos, et ignium receptacula.

38:4  And he made the grate thereof of brass, in manner of a net, and under it in the midst of the altar a hearth,

38:4  And he made for the altar a brasen grate of network under the compass thereof beneath unto the midst of it.

38:4  Craticulamque ejus in modum retis fecit æneam, et subter eam in altaris medio arulam,

38:5  Casting four rings at the four ends of the net at the top, to put in bars to carry it:

38:5  And he cast four rings for the four ends of the grate of brass, to be places for the staves.

38:5  fusis quatuor annulis per totidem retiaculi summitates, ad immittendos vectes ad portandum :

38:6  And he made the bars of setim wood, and overlaid them with plates of brass:

38:6  And he made the staves of shittim wood, and overlaid them with brass.

38:6  quos et ipsos fecit de lignis setim, et operuit laminis æneis :

38:7  And he drew them through the rings that stood out in the sides of the altar. And the altar itself was not solid, but hollow, of boards, and empty within.

38:7  And he put the staves into the rings on the sides of the altar, to bear it withal; he made the altar hollow with boards.

38:7  induxitque in circulos, qui in lateribus altaris eminebant. Ipsum autem altare non erat solidum, sed cavum ex tabulis, et intus vacuum.

38:8  He made also the laver of brass, with the foot thereof, of the mirrors of the women that watched at the door of the tabernacle.

38:8  And he made the laver of brass, and the foot of it of brass, of the lookingglasses of the women assembling, which assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

38:8  Fecit et labrum æneum cum basi sua de speculis mulierum, quæ excubabant in ostio tabernaculi.

38:9  He made also the court, in the south side whereof were hangings of fine twisted linen of a hundred cubits.

38:9  And he made the court: on the south side southward the hangings of the court were of fine twined linen, an hundred cubits:

38:9  Fecit et atrium, in cujus australi plaga erant tentoria de bysso retorta, cubitorum centum,

38:10  Twenty pillars of brass with their sockets, the heads of the pillars, and the whole graving of the work, of silver.

38:10  Their pillars were twenty, and their brasen sockets twenty; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets were of silver.

38:10  columnæ æneæ viginti cum basibus suis, capita columnarum, et tota operis cælatura, argentea.

38:11  In like manner at the north side the hangings, the pillars, and the sockets and heads of the pillars were of the same measure, and work and metal.

38:11  And for the north side the hangings were an hundred cubits, their pillars were twenty, and their sockets of brass twenty; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver.

38:11  Æque ad septentrionalem plagam tentoria columnæ, basesque et capita columnarum ejusdem mensuræ, et operis ac metalli, erant.

38:12  But on that side that looketh to the west, there were hangings of fifty cubits, ten pillars of brass with their sockets, and the heads of the pillars, and all the graving of the work, of silver.

38:12  And for the west side were hangings of fifty cubits, their pillars ten, and their sockets ten; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver.

38:12  In ea vero plaga, quæ ad occidentem respicit, fuerunt tentoria cubitorum quinquaginta, columnæ decem cum basibus suis æneæ, et capita columnarum, et tota operis cælatura, argentea.

38:13  Moreover, towards the east he prepared hangings of fifty cubits:

38:13  And for the east side eastward fifty cubits.

38:13  Porro contra orientem quinquaginta cubitorum paravit tentoria :

38:14  Fifteen cubits of which, were on one side with three pillars, and their sockets:

38:14  The hangings of the one side of the gate were fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their sockets three.

38:14  e quibus, quindecim cubitos columnarum trium, cum basibus suis, unum tenebat latus :

38:15  And on the other side (for between the two he made the entry of the tabernacle) there were hangings equally of fifteen cubits, and three pillars, and as many sockets.

38:15  And for the other side of the court gate, on this hand and that hand, were hangings of fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their sockets three.

38:15  et in parte altera (quia inter utraque introitum tabernaculi fecit) quindecim æque cubitorum erant tentoria, columnæque tres, et bases totidem.

38:16  All the hangings of the court were woven with twisted linen.

38:16  All the hangings of the court round about were of fine twined linen.

38:16  Cuncta atrii tentoria byssus retorta texuerat.

38:17  The sockets of the pillars were of brass, and their heads with all their gravings of silver: and he overlaid the pillars of the court also with silver.

38:17  And the sockets for the pillars were of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver; and the overlaying of their chapiters of silver; and all the pillars of the court were filleted with silver.

38:17  Bases columnarum fuere æneæ, capita autem earum cum cunctis cælaturis suis argentea : sed et ipsas columnas atrii vestivit argento.

38:18  And he made in the entry thereof an embroidered hanging of violet, purple, scarlet, and fine twisted linen, that was twenty cubits long, and five cubits high, according to the measure of all the hangings of the court.

38:18  And the hanging for the gate of the court was needlework, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen: and twenty cubits was the length, and the height in the breadth was five cubits, answerable to the hangings of the court.

38:18  Et in introitu ejus opere plumario fecit tentorium ex hyacintho, purpura, vermiculo, ac bysso retorta, quod habebat viginti cubitos in longitudine, altitudo vero quinque cubitorum erat juxta mensuram, quam cuncta atrii tentoria habebant.

38:19  And the pillars in the entry were four, with sockets of brass, and their heads and gravings of silver.

38:19  And their pillars were four, and their sockets of brass four; their hooks of silver, and the overlaying of their chapiters and their fillets of silver.

38:19  Columnæ autem in ingressu fuere quatuor cum basibus æneis, capitaque earum et cælaturæ argenteæ.

38:20  The pins also of the tabernacle and of the court round about he made of brass.

38:20  And all the pins of the tabernacle, and of the court round about, were of brass.

38:20  Paxillos quoque tabernaculi et atrii per gyrum fecit æneos.

38:21  These are the instruments of the tabernacle of the testimony, which were counted according to the commandment of Moses, in the ceremonies of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar, son of Aaron the priest:

38:21  This is the sum of the tabernacle, even of the tabernacle of testimony, as it was counted, according to the commandment of Moses, for the service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar, son to Aaron the priest.

38:21  Hæc sunt instrumenta tabernaculi testimonii, quæ enumerata sunt juxta præceptum Moysi in cæremoniis Levitarum per manum Ithamar filii Aaron sacerdotis :

38:22  Which Beseleel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur of the tribe of Juda, had made, as the Lord commanded by Moses.

38:22  And Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made all that the Lord commanded Moses.

38:22  quæ Beseleel filius Uri filii Hur de tribu Juda, Domino per Moysen jubente, compleverat,

38:23  Having for his companion Ooliab, the son of Achisamech, of the tribe of Dan: who also was an excellent artificer in wood, and worker in tapestry and embroidery in violet, purple, scarlet, and fine linen.

38:23  And with him was Aholiab, son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, an engraver, and a cunning workman, and an embroiderer in blue, and in purple, and in scarlet, and fine linen.

38:23  juncto sibi socio Ooliab filio Achisamech de tribu Dan : qui et ipse artifex lignorum egregius fuit, et polymitarius atque plumarius ex hyacintho, purpura, vermiculo et bysso.

38:24  All the gold that was spent in the work of the sanctuary, and that was offered in gifts, was nine and twenty talents, and seven hundred and thirty sicles according to the standard of the sanctuary.

38:24  All the gold that was occupied for the work in all the work of the holy place, even the gold of the offering, was twenty and nine talents, and seven hundred and thirty shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary.

38:24  Omne aurum quod expensum est in opere sanctuarii, et quod oblatum est in donariis, viginti novem talentorum fuit, et septingentorum triginta siclorum ad mensuram sanctuarii.

38:25  And it was offered by them that went to be numbered, from twenty years old and upwards, of six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty men able to bear arms.

38:25  And the silver of them that were numbered of the congregation was an hundred talents, and a thousand seven hundred and threescore and fifteen shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary:

38:25  Oblatum est autem ab his qui transierunt ad numerum a viginti annis et supra, de sexcentis tribus millibus et quingentis quinquaginta armatorum.

38:26  There were moreover a hundred talents of silver, whereof were cast the sockets of the sanctuary, and of the entry where the veil hangeth.

38:26  A bekah for every man, that is, half a shekel, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for every one that went to be numbered, from twenty years old and upward, for six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty men.

38:26  Fuerunt præterea centum talenta argenti e quibus conflatæ sunt bases sanctuarii, et introitus, ubi velum pendet.

38:27  A hundred sockets were made of a hundred talents, one talent being reckoned for every socket.

38:27  And of the hundred talents of silver were cast the sockets of the sanctuary, and the sockets of the vail; an hundred sockets of the hundred talents, a talent for a socket.

38:27  Centum bases factæ sunt de talentis centum, singulis talentis per bases singulas supputatis.

38:28  And of the thousand seven hundred and seventy-five he made the heads of the pillars, which also he overlaid with silver.

38:28  And of the thousand seven hundred seventy and five shekels he made hooks for the pillars, and overlaid their chapiters, and filleted them.

38:28  De mille autem septingentis et septuaginta quinque, fecit capita columnarum, quas et ipsas vestivit argento.

38:29  And there were offered of brass also seventy-two thousand talents, and four hundred sicles besides,

38:29  And the brass of the offering was seventy talents, and two thousand and four hundred shekels.

38:29  Æris quoque oblata sunt talenta septuaginta duo millia, et quadringenti supra sicli,

38:30  Of which were cast the sockets in the entry of the tabernacle of the testimony, and the altar of brass with the grate thereof, and also the vessels that belong to the use thereof.

38:30  And therewith he made the sockets to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the brasen altar, and the brasen grate for it, and all the vessels of the altar,

38:30  ex quibus fusæ sunt bases in introitu tabernaculi testimonii, et altare æneum cum craticula sua, omniaque vasa quæ ad usum ejus pertinent,

38:31  And the sockets of the court as well round about as in the entry thereof, and the pins of the tabernacle, and of the court round about.

38:31  And the sockets of the court round about, and the sockets of the court gate, and all the pins of the tabernacle, and all the pins of the court round about.

38:31  et bases atrii tam in circuitu quam in ingressu ejus, et paxilli tabernaculi atque atrii per gyrum.
