JOHN
Chapter 14
John | Godbey | 14:2 | Many mansions are in the house of my Father; but if it were not so, I would have told you; because I go to prepare a place for you.
John | Godbey | 14:3 | And if I may go and prepare a place for you, I come again, and will receive you unto myself; in order that you may also be where I am.
John | Godbey | 14:5 | And Thomas says to Him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest: and how do we know the way?
John | Godbey | 14:6 | Jesus says to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh to the Father, but through me.
John | Godbey | 14:7 | If you have known me, you shall also know my Father: and henceforth you know Him and have seen Him.
John | Godbey | 14:9 | Jesus says to Him, Am I so long time with you, and hast thou not known me, Philip? The one having seen me hath seen the Father: how do you say, Show us the Father?
John | Godbey | 14:10 | Dost thou not believe, that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? The words which I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father who abideth in me doeth His own works.
John | Godbey | 14:11 | Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; or if not, believe for the sake of the works themselves.
John | Godbey | 14:12 | Truly, truly, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, shall also do the works which I am doing; and shall do greater works than these: because I go to the Father:
John | Godbey | 14:13 | and whatsoever you may ask in my name, I will do it, in order that the rather may be glorified in the Son.
John | Godbey | 14:16 | And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, that He may be with you always,
John | Godbey | 14:17 | the Spirit of truth: which the world is not able to receive, because it does not see Him, nor know Him: you know Him: because He abideth with you, and shall be in you.
John | Godbey | 14:19 | Vet a little while, and the world sees me no more; but you see me: because I live, you shall live also.
John | Godbey | 14:21 | The one having my commandments, and keeping them, he is the one loving me with divine love: the one loving me with divine love, shall be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will manifest myself unto him.
John | Godbey | 14:22 | Judas. (not Iscariot), says to Him, Lord, and how is it that you are about to manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?
John | Godbey | 14:23 | Jesus responded and said to him; If any one may love me with divine love, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and will make our mansion with him.
John | Godbey | 14:24 | The one not loving me with divine love does not keep my words: and the word which you hear is not mine, but that of the Father who sent me.
John | Godbey | 14:26 | but the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things, and remind you of all things, which I spoke to you.
John | Godbey | 14:27 | My peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor afraid.
John | Godbey | 14:28 | You heard that I said to you, I go away, and I come to you. If you love me with divine love, you would rejoice, because I go to my Father: because the Father is greater than I.
John | Godbey | 14:29 | And I have now told you before it takes place, in order that, when it may come to pass, you may believe.
John | Godbey | 14:30 | I shall no longer speak many things with you, because the prince of the world comes: and he has nothing in me;
