MARK
Chapter 2
Mark | RKJNT | 2:1 | And he entered Capernaum again after some days; and it was reported that he was in the house.
Mark | RKJNT | 2:2 | And immediately many gathered together, so that there was no room to receive them, no, not even around the door: and he preached the word to them.
Mark | RKJNT | 2:4 | And when they could not come near to him because of the crowd, they made a hole in the roof where he was: and when they had broken through, they let down the mat on which the paralytic lay.
Mark | RKJNT | 2:8 | And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said to them, Why do you reason about these things in your hearts?
Mark | RKJNT | 2:9 | Which is easier to say to the paralytic, Your sins are forgiven; or to say, Arise, and take up your mat, and walk?
Mark | RKJNT | 2:10 | But that you may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, (he said to the paralytic,)
Mark | RKJNT | 2:12 | And immediately he arose, took up the mat, and went forth before them all; so that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw anything like this.
Mark | RKJNT | 2:13 | And he went forth again on the seashore; and all the multitude came to him, and he taught them.
Mark | RKJNT | 2:14 | And as he passed by, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the tax office, and said to him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
Mark | RKJNT | 2:15 | And it came to pass, that, as Jesus reclined at table in his house, many tax gatherers and sinners also sat together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.
Mark | RKJNT | 2:16 | And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with tax gatherers and sinners, they said to his disciples, How is it that he eats and drinks with tax gatherers and sinners?
Mark | RKJNT | 2:17 | When Jesus heard it, he said to them, Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.
Mark | RKJNT | 2:18 | Now the disciples of John and of the Pharisees were fasting: and they came and said to him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?
Mark | RKJNT | 2:19 | And Jesus said to them, Can the attendants of the bridegroom fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
Mark | RKJNT | 2:20 | But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then they shall fast.
Mark | RKJNT | 2:21 | No man sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment: because the new patch pulls away from the old, and the tear is made worse.
Mark | RKJNT | 2:22 | And no man puts new wine into old wineskins: because the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined: but new wine must be put into new wineskins.
Mark | RKJNT | 2:23 | And it came to pass, that he went through the grainfields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the heads of grain.
Mark | RKJNT | 2:24 | And the Pharisees said to him, Behold, why are they doing what is not lawful on the sabbath day?
Mark | RKJNT | 2:25 | And he said to them, Have you never read what David did, when he had need, and was hungry, he, and those who were with him?
Mark | RKJNT | 2:26 | How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the showbread, which is not lawful for any but the priests to eat, and gave also to them who were with him?
