MATTHEW
Chapter 7
Matt | LO | 7:2 | for as you judge, you shall be judged; and the measure which you give, the same you shall receive.
Matt | LO | 7:3 | And why do you observe the mote in your brother's eye, but you are insensible of the splinter in your own eye?
Matt | LO | 7:4 | Or how dare you say to your brother, let me take the mote out of your eye; when lo! you have a splinter in your own?
Matt | LO | 7:5 | Hypocrite, first take the splinter out of your own eye; then you will see clearly to take the mote out of your brother's eye.
Matt | LO | 7:6 | Give not things holy to dogs, and cast not your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under foot, and turn upon you, and tear you apart.
Matt | LO | 7:7 | Ask, and you shall obtain; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.
Matt | LO | 7:8 | For whosoever asks, obtains; whosoever seeks, finds; and to every one who knocks, the door shall be opened.
Matt | LO | 7:11 | If you then, though evil, can give good things to your children, how much more will your Father, who is in heaven, give good things to them that ask him?
Matt | LO | 7:12 | Whatever you would that others do to you, do you the same to them; for this is the law and the prophets.
Matt | LO | 7:13 | Enter in through the strait gate; for wide is the gate of perdition, broad is its way leading thither; and many are they who enter by it.
Matt | LO | 7:14 | But how strait is the gate of life; how narrow the way leading thither; and how few are they who find it!
Matt | LO | 7:15 | Beware of false teachers, who come to you in the garb of sheep, while inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
Matt | LO | 7:16 | By their fruits you shall discover them. Are grapes gathered from thorns; or figs from thistles?
Matt | LO | 7:21 | Not every one who says to me, Master, Master, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of my Father, who is in heaven.
Matt | LO | 7:22 | Many will say to me on that day, Master, Master, have we not taught in thy name, and in thy name performed many miracles?
Matt | LO | 7:23 | To whom I will declare, I never acknowledged you. Depart from me, you who practice iniquity.
Matt | LO | 7:24 | Therefore, whosoever hears these my precepts, and does them, I will compare to a prudent man, who built his house upon the rock.
Matt | LO | 7:25 | For although the rain descended, and the rivers overflowed, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, it fell not, because it was founded upon the rock.
Matt | LO | 7:26 | But whosoever hears these my precepts, and does them not, shall be compared to a simpleton, who built his house upon the sand.
Matt | LO | 7:27 | For when the rain descended, and the rivers overflowed, and the winds blew, and dashed against that house, it fell, and great was its ruin.
Matt | LO | 7:28 | When Jesus had ended this discourse, the people were struck with awe at his manner of teaching;
