3:1  Now there was a long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: David prospering and growing always stronger and stronger, but the house of Saul decaying daily.

3:7  Saul míval konkubínu jménem Ricpa, dcera Ajova. Saulův syn Iš-bošet řekl Abnerovi: „Jak to, že jsi spal s konkubínou mého otce?“

And he was exceedingly angry for the words of Isboseth, and said: Am I a dog's head against Juda this day, who have shewn mercy to the house of Saul thy father, and to his brethren and friends, and have not delivered thee into the hands of David, and hast thou sought this day against me to charge me with a matter concerning a woman?

3:8  Then was Abner very wroth for the words of Ish–bosheth, and said, Am I a dog’s head, which against Judah do shew kindness this day unto the house of Saul thy father, to his brethren, and to his friends, and have not delivered thee into the hand of David, that thou chargest me to day with a fault concerning this woman?

3:8  Pro ta Íš-bóšetova slova Abnér velice vzplanul a vyčítal: „Copak jsem psí hlava, patřím snad k Judovi? Denně prokazuji milosrdenství domu Saula, tvého otce, jeho bratřím a přátelům. Nedopustil jsem, abys padl do Davidových rukou, a ty mi dnes předhazuješ přečin s tou ženou?

3:8  Ta slova Abnera rozzuřila. „Copak jsem nějaká judská psí hlava?“ odpověděl. „Doteď jsem domu tvého otce Saula, jeho bratrům i přátelům prokazoval oddanost a nevydal jsem tě do Davidových rukou. A ty mě dnes budeš obviňovat kvůli téhle ženě?

3:8  Abnér se kvůli Íš–bóšetovým slovům velice rozzlobil a řekl: Copak jsem ⌈psí hlava⌉ z Judska? Dodnes ⌈jednám věrně⌉ s domem Saula, tvého otce, vůči jeho bratrům i vůči jeho příteli a nevydal jsem tě do ruky Davida. A ty jsi mě dnes obvinil kvůli ženě.

3:8  Tedy rozhněvav se Abner velmi pro slova Izbozetova, řekl: I zdali já jsem psí hlava, kterýž jsem proti Judovi dnes učinil milosrdenství s domem Saule otce tvého, s bratřími jeho i příbuznými jeho, a nevydal jsem tě v ruku Davidovu, a však vyhledáváš na mně dnes nepravosti té ženy.

3:8  Then was Abner very wroth for the words of Ish-bosheth, and said, [Am] I a dog's head, who against Judah do show kindness this day to the house of Saul thy father, to his brethren, and to his friends, and have not delivered thee into the hand of David, that thou chargest me to-day with a fault concerning this woman?

3:8  Then was Abner very angry for the words of Ishbosheth, and said, "Am I a dog's head that belongs to Judah? Today I show kindness to the house of Saul your father, to his brothers, and to his friends, and have not delivered you into the hand of David; and yet you charge me this day with a fault concerning this woman!

3:8  Then was Abner very wroth for the words of Ishbosheth, and said, Am I a dog's head, which against Judah do show kindness this day to the house of Saul your father, to his brothers, and to his friends, and have not delivered you into the hand of David, that you charge me to day with a fault concerning this woman?

3:8  Quare ingressus es ad concubinam patris mei ? Qui iratus nimis propter verba Isboseth, ait : Numquid caput canis ego sum adversum Judam hodie, qui fecerim misericordiam super domum Saul patris tui, et super fratres et proximos ejus, et non tradidi te in manus David, et tu requisisti in me quod argueres pro muliere hodie ?

3:9  So do God to Abner, and more also, unless as the Lord hath sworn to David, so I do to him,

3:9  Ať se mnou Bůh udělá, co chce! Učiním pro Davida, co mu přisáhl Hospodin.

3:12  Abnér poslal za sebe k Davidovi posly se slovy: „Komu patří země?“ a s nabídkou: „Uzavři se mnou smlouvu. Budu stát při tobě a obrátím k tobě celý Izrael.“

3:12  Abner pak vyslal k Davidovi posly se slovy: „Čí je to země? Uzavři se mnou smlouvu, a já ti pomohu obrátit na tvou stranu celý Izrael!“

3:12  Abnér poslal k Davidovi místo sebe posly se slovy: Komu patří země? Uzavři se mnou smlouvu. Ano, má ruka bude s tebou, aby se k tobě obrátil celý Izrael.

3:12  And Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, Whose [is] the land? saying [also], Make thy league with me, and behold, my hand [shall be] with thee, to bring about all Israel to thee.

3:13  And he said: Very well: I will make a league with thee: but one thing I require of thee, saying: Thou shalt not see my face before thou bring Michol the daughter of Saul: and so thou shalt come, and see me.

3:13  Odpověděl: Dobře, uzavřu s tebou smlouvu. Ovšem jednu věc od tebe žádám: Neuvidíš mě, dokud nepřivedeš Míkal, Saulovu dceru, až přijdeš, abys mě viděl.

3:13  Jemuž odpověděl: Dobře. Jáť učiním s tebou smlouvu, a však jedné věci od tebe žádám, totiž, abys neviděl tváři mé, leč prvé dáš přivésti Míkol dceru Saulovu, když bys chtěl přijíti, abys viděl tvář mou.

3:13  And he said, Well; I will make a league with thee: but one thing I require of thee, that is, Thou shalt not see my face, except thou shalt first bring Michal, Saul's daughter, when thou comest to see my face.

3:13  He said, "Good; I will make a treaty with you; but one thing I require of you. That is, you shall not see my face, unless you first bring Michal, Saul's daughter, when you come to see my face."

3:13  And he said, Well; I will make a league with you: but one thing I require of you, that is, You shall not see my face, except you first bring Michal Saul's daughter, when you come to see my face.

3:14  And David sent messengers to Isboseth the son of Saul, saying: Restore my wife Michol, whom I espoused to me for a hundred foreskins of the Philistines.

3:14  A David vyslal k Íš-bóšetovi, synu Saulovu, posly se vzkazem: „Vydej mi mou ženu Míkal, kterou jsem pravoplatně získal za sto pelištejských předkožek!“

3:14  David pak vyslal posly k Saulovu synu Iš-bošetovi: „Vrať mi mou ženu Míkal, kterou jsem si zasnoubil za stovku filištínských předkožek.“

3:14  David poslal posly k Íš–bóšetovi, synu Saulovu, se slovy: Dej mi mou ženu Míkal, kterou jsem si zasnoubil za sto pelištejských předkožek.

3:14  And David sent messengers to Ish-bosheth, Saul's son, saying, Deliver to [me] my wife Michal, whom I espoused to me for a hundred foreskins of the Philistines.

3:15  And Isboseth sent, and took her from her husband Phaltiel, the son of Lais.

3:16  Její muž ji s pláčem doprovázel až do Bachurímu. Tam mu Abnér řekl: „Vrať se.“ A on se vrátil.

3:17  Sermonem quoque intulit Abner ad seniores Israël, dicens : Tam heri quam nudiustertius quærebatis David ut regnaret super vos.
