1:1  After the death of Joshua, the children of Israel consulted the Lord, saying: Who shall go up before us against the Chanaanite, and shall be the leader of the war?

1:1  Po Jozuově smrti se synové Izraele dotázali Hospodina: „Kdo z nás má vytáhnout do boje proti Kenaancům první?“

1:1  I stalo se po smrti Jozua, že se synové Izraele doptávali Hospodina: Kdo z nás vytáhne proti Kenaancům ⌈jako první,⌉ aby s nimi vedl válku?

1:1  Stalo se pak po smrti Jozue, otázali se synové Izraelští Hospodina, řkouce: Kdo z nás potáhne proti Kananejskému napřed, aby bojoval s ním?

1:3  I vyzval Juda svého bratra Šimeóna: „Vytáhni se mnou do území, které mi bylo přiděleno losem, a budeme bojovat proti Kenaancům. Já pak půjdu zase s tebou do území přiděleného tobě.“ Šimeón s ním tedy šel.

1:3  Kmen Juda pak řekl svým bratrům ze Šimeona: „Pojďte s námi do našeho podílu bojovat proti Kanaáncům. My pak zase půjdeme s vámi do vašeho podílu.“ Kmen Šimeon s ním tedy šel.

1:3  Juda řekl svému bratru Šimeónovi: Vytáhni se mnou do území mého losu a bojujme proti Kenaancům. A já s tebou také půjdu do území tvého losu. Šimeón šel tedy s ním.

1:3  (Řekl pak byl Juda Simeonovi bratru svému: Potáhni se mnou k dobývání losu mého, abychom bojovali proti Kananejskému, a já také potáhnu s tebou k dobývání losu tvého. I táhl s ním Simeon.)

1:7  And Adoni-bezek said, seventy kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered [their food] under my table; as I have done, so God hath requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.

1:12  And Caleb said: He that shall take Cariath-Sepher, and lay it waste, to him will I give my daughter Axa to wife.

1:14  And it came to pass, when she came to him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted from off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wilt thou?

1:14  And it came to pass, when she came [to him], that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted from off [her] ass; and Caleb said to her, What wilt thou?

1:14  It happened, when she came to him, that she got him to ask her father for a field: and she got off from her donkey; and Caleb said to her, "What would you like?"

1:15  But she answered: Give me a blessing, for thou hast given me a dry land: give me also a watery land So Caleb gave her the upper and the nether watery ground.

1:15  And she said unto him, Give me a blessing: for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And Caleb gave her the upper springs and the nether springs.

1:15  Odpověděla mu: „Obdař mě požehnáním! Když jsi mne provdal do jižního suchopáru, dej mi také vodní zřídla.“ Káleb jí tedy dal zřídla, horní a dolní.

1:15  „Dej mi, prosím, dárek,“ odpověděla. „Vždyť jsi mi dal zem v negevské poušti. Kéž bys mi dal studánky s vodou.“ A tak jí dal studánky – Horní i Dolní Gulot.

1:15  Odpověděla mu: Dej mi požehnání, protože ⌈jsi mě provdal do jižní země,⌉ dej mi vodní nádrže. Káleb jí tedy dal horní i dolní nádrže.

1:15  A ona odpověděla: Dej mi dar; poněvadžs mi dal zemi suchou, dej mi také studnice vod. I dal jí Kálef studnice v horních i dolních končinách.

1:15  And she said to him, Give me a blessing: for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And Caleb gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.

1:16  And the children of the Cinite, the kinsman of Moses, went up from the city of palms, with the children of Juda, into the wilderness of his lot, which is at the south side of Arad, and they dwelt with him.

1:16  And the children of the Kenite, Moses’ father in law, went up out of the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which lieth in the south of Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people.

1:16  Kénijci, synové Mojžíšova tchána, vytáhli z Palmového města spolu s Judovci do Judské stepi jižně od Aradu. Tam se usadili s lidem.

1:16  S Judovými syny vytáhli z Palmového města do Judské pouště na jih od Aradu také potomci Mojžíšova tchána, Kenijce. Když tam dorazili, usídlili se mezi místními.

1:17  And Juda went with Simeon, his brother, and they together defeated the Chanaanites that dwelt in Sephaath, and slew them. And the name of the city was called Horma, that is, Anathema.

1:17  Juda však táhl se svým bratrem Šimeónem a pobili Kenaance sídlící v Sefatu. Zničili město jako klaté; proto mu dali jméno Chorma (to je Klatbě propadlé).

1:17  Juda ale táhl se svým bratrem Šimeonem dál, vybili Kanaánce bydlící v Cefatu a vyhubili je jako proklaté. To město proto dostalo jméno Chorma, Klatba.
