Chapter 11
Gene DRC 11:1  And the earth was of one tongue, and of the same speech.
Gene KJV 11:1  And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
Gene DRC 11:2  And when they removed from the east, they found a plain in the land of Sennaar, and dwelt in it.
Gene VulgClem 11:2  Cumque proficiscerentur de oriente, invenerunt campum in terra Sennaar, et habitaverunt in eo.
Gene KJV 11:2  And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
Gene DRC 11:3  And each one said to his neighbour: Come let us make brick, and bake them with fire. And they had brick instead of stones, and slime instead of mortar:
Gene VulgClem 11:3  Dixitque alter ad proximum suum : Venite, faciamus lateres, et coquamus eos igni. Habueruntque lateres pro saxis, et bitumen pro cæmento :
Gene KJV 11:3  And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.
Gene DRC 11:4  And they said: Come, let us make a city and a tower, the top whereof may reach to heaven; and let us make our name famous before we be scattered abroad into all lands.
Gene KJV 11:4  And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
Gene DRC 11:5  And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of Adam were building.
Gene KJV 11:5  And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
Gene DRC 11:6  And he said: Behold, it is one people, and all have one tongue: and they have begun to do this, neither will they leave off from their designs, till they accomplish them in deed.
Gene KJV 11:6  And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
Gene DRC 11:7  Come ye, therefore, let us go down, and there confound their tongue, that they may not understand one another's speech.
Gene KJV 11:7  Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.
Gene DRC 11:8  And so the Lord scattered them from that place into all lands, and they ceased to build the city.
Gene KJV 11:8  So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
Gene DRC 11:9  And therefore the name thereof was called Babel, because there the language of the whole earth was confounded: and from thence the Lord scattered them abroad upon the face of all countries.
Gene VulgClem 11:9  Et idcirco vocatum est nomen ejus Babel, quia ibi confusum est labium universæ terræ : et inde dispersit eos Dominus super faciem cunctarum regionum.
Gene KJV 11:9  Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

Gene KJV 11:27  Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.
Gene DRC 11:28  And Aran died before Thare his father, in the land of his nativity in Ur of the Chaldees.
