Chapter 72
Psal DRC 72:1  A psalm for Asaph. How good is God to Israel, to them that are of a right heart!
Psal KJV 72:1  Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king’s son.
Psal VulgClem 72:1  Psalmus Asaph. Quam bonus Israël Deus, his qui recto sunt corde !
Psal DRC 72:2  But my feet were almost moved; my steps had well nigh slipped.
Psal KJV 72:2  He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.
Psal VulgClem 72:2  Mei autem pene moti sunt pedes, pene effusi sunt gressus mei :
Psal DRC 72:3  Because I had a zeal on occasion of the wicked, seeing the prosperity of sinners.
Psal KJV 72:3  The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.
Psal VulgClem 72:3  quia zelavi super iniquos, pacem peccatorum videns.
Psal DRC 72:4  For there is no regard to their death, nor is there strength in their stripes.
Psal KJV 72:4  He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.
Psal VulgClem 72:4  Quia non est respectus morti eorum, et firmamentum in plaga eorum.
Psal DRC 72:5  They are not in the labour of men: neither shall they be scourged like other men.
Psal KJV 72:5  They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.
Psal VulgClem 72:5  In labore hominum non sunt, et cum hominibus non flagellabuntur.
Psal DRC 72:6  Therefore pride hath held them fast: they are covered with their iniquity and their wickedness.
Psal KJV 72:6  He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.
Psal VulgClem 72:6  Ideo tenuit eos superbia ; operti sunt iniquitate et impietate sua.
Psal DRC 72:7  Their iniquity hath come forth, as it were from fatness: they have passed into the affection of the heart.
Psal KJV 72:7  In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.
Psal VulgClem 72:7  Prodiit quasi ex adipe iniquitas eorum ; transierunt in affectum cordis.
Psal DRC 72:8  They have thought and spoken wickedness: they have spoken iniquity on high.
Psal KJV 72:8  He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.
Psal VulgClem 72:8  Cogitaverunt et locuti sunt nequitiam ; iniquitatem in excelso locuti sunt.
Psal DRC 72:9  They have set their mouth against heaven: and their tongue hath passed through the earth.
Psal KJV 72:9  They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.
Psal VulgClem 72:9  Posuerunt in cælum os suum, et lingua eorum transivit in terra.
Psal DRC 72:10  Therefore will my people return here and full days shall be found in them.
Psal KJV 72:10  The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
Psal VulgClem 72:10  Ideo convertetur populus meus hic, et dies pleni invenientur in eis.
Psal DRC 72:11  And they said: How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?
Psal KJV 72:11  Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.
Psal VulgClem 72:11  Et dixerunt : Quomodo scit Deus, et si est scientia in excelso ?
Psal DRC 72:12  Behold these are sinners; and yet, abounding in the world they have obtained riches.
Psal KJV 72:12  For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.
Psal VulgClem 72:12  Ecce ipsi peccatores, et abundantes in sæculo obtinuerunt divitias.
Psal DRC 72:13  And I said: Then have I in vain justified my heart, and washed my hands among the innocent.
Psal KJV 72:13  He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.
Psal VulgClem 72:13  Et dixi : Ergo sine causa justificavi cor meum, et lavi inter innocentes manus meas,
Psal DRC 72:14  And I have been scourged all the day; and my chastisement hath been in the mornings.
Psal KJV 72:14  He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.
Psal VulgClem 72:14  et fui flagellatus tota die, et castigatio mea in matutinis.
Psal DRC 72:15  If I said: I will speak thus; behold I should condemn the generation of thy children.
Psal KJV 72:15  And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.
Psal VulgClem 72:15  Si dicebam : Narrabo sic ; ecce nationem filiorum tuorum reprobavi.
Psal DRC 72:16  I studied that I might know this thing, it is a labour in my sight:
Psal KJV 72:16  There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.
Psal VulgClem 72:16  Existimabam ut cognoscerem hoc ; labor est ante me :
Psal DRC 72:17  Until I go into the sanctuary of God, and understand concerning their last ends.
Psal KJV 72:17  His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
Psal VulgClem 72:17  donec intrem in sanctuarium Dei, et intelligam in novissimis eorum.
Psal DRC 72:18  But indeed for deceits thou hast put it to them: when they were lifted up thou hast cast them down.
Psal KJV 72:18  Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.
Psal VulgClem 72:18  Verumtamen propter dolos posuisti eis ; dejecisti eos dum allevarentur.
Psal DRC 72:19  How are they brought to desolation? they have suddenly ceased to be: they have perished by reason of their iniquity.
Psal KJV 72:19  And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.
Psal VulgClem 72:19  Quomodo facti sunt in desolationem ? subito defecerunt : perierunt propter iniquitatem suam.
Psal DRC 72:20  As the dream of them that awake, O Lord; so in thy city thou shalt bring their image to nothing.
Psal KJV 72:20  The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.
Psal VulgClem 72:20  Velut somnium surgentium, Domine, in civitate tua imaginem ipsorum ad nihilum rediges.
Psal DRC 72:21  For my heart hath been inflamed, and my reins have been changed:

Psal VulgClem 72:21  Quia inflammatum est cor meum, et renes mei commutati sunt ;
Psal DRC 72:22  And I am brought to nothing, and I knew not.

Psal VulgClem 72:22  et ego ad nihilum redactus sum, et nescivi :
Psal DRC 72:23  I am become as a beast before thee: and I am always with thee.

Psal VulgClem 72:23  ut jumentum factus sum apud te, et ego semper tecum.
Psal DRC 72:24  Thou hast held me by my right hand; and by thy will thou hast conducted me, and with thy glory thou hast received me.

Psal VulgClem 72:24  Tenuisti manum dexteram meam, et in voluntate tua deduxisti me, et cum gloria suscepisti me.
Psal DRC 72:25  For what have I in heaven? and besides thee what do I desire upon earth?

Psal VulgClem 72:25  Quid enim mihi est in cælo ? et a te quid volui super terram ?
Psal DRC 72:26  For thee my flesh and my heart hath fainted away: thou art the God of my heart, and the God that is my portion for ever.

Psal VulgClem 72:26  Defecit caro mea et cor meum ; Deus cordis mei, et pars mea, Deus in æternum.
Psal DRC 72:27  For behold they that go far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that are disloyal to thee.

Psal VulgClem 72:27  Quia ecce qui elongant se a te peribunt ; perdidisti omnes qui fornicantur abs te.
Psal DRC 72:28  But it is good for me to adhere to my God, to put my hope in the Lord God: That I may declare all thy praises, in the gates of the daughter of Sion.

Psal VulgClem 72:28  Mihi autem adhærere Deo bonum est ; ponere in Domino Deo spem meam : ut annuntiem omnes prædicationes tuas in portis filiæ Sion.
