11:1  There was at that time Jephte, the Galaadite, a most valiant man, and a warrior, the son of a woman that was a harlot, and his father was Galaad.

11:2  And Gilead’s wife bare him sons; and his wife’s sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father’s house; for thou art the son of a strange woman.

11:2  Gileádovi porodila syny také vlastní žena. Když její synové dospěli, vypudili Jiftácha. Řekli mu: „Nemáš nárok na dědictví v domě našeho otce, protože jsi syn jiné ženy.“

11:2  I Gileádova žena mu porodila syny. Když synové té ženy vyrůstali, Jiftácha vyhnali. Řekli mu: Neobdržíš dědictví v domě našeho otce, protože jsi synem jiné ženy.

11:2  Ale i manželka Galádova naplodila mu synů, a když dorostli synové manželky té, vyhnali Jefte. Nebo řekli jemu: Nebudeš děditi v domě otce našeho, nebo jsi postranní ženy syn.

11:2  And Gilead's wife bore him sons; and his wife's sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said to him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father's house; for thou [art] the son of a strange woman.

11:3  Protož utekl Jefte od tváři bratří svých, a bydlil v zemi Tob; a sběhli se k Jefte lidé povaleči, a vycházeli s ním.

11:7  Jiftách gileádským starším odpověděl: „Což právě vy jste mě z nenávisti nevypudili z otcovského domu? Jak to, že přicházíte ke mně teď, když jste v soužení?“

11:7  Jiftach ale gileádským stařešinům odpověděl: „Copak jste mě z nenávisti nevyhnali z domu mého otce? Proč teď jdete za mnou?! Protože jste v úzkých?“

11:7  Nato Jiftách gileádským starším odpověděl: Cožpak jste mě vy neměli v nenávisti a nevyhnali jste mě z domu mého otce? Proč jste teď, když je vám úzko, přišli za mnou?

11:7  Odpověděl Jefte starším Galádským: Zdaliž jste vy mne neměli v nenávisti, a nevyhnali jste mne z domu otce mého? Pročež tedy nyní přišli jste ke mně, když ssouženi jste?

11:7  And Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, Did ye not hate me, and expel me from my father's house; and why have ye come to me now when ye are in distress?

11:7  Quibus ille respondit : Nonne vos estis, qui odistis me, et ejecistis de domo patris mei ? et nunc venistis ad me necessitate compulsi.

11:8  And the princes of Galaad said to Jephte: For this cause we are now come to thee, that thou mayst go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be head over all the inhabitants of Galaad.

11:8  And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, Therefore we turn again to thee now, that thou mayest go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.

11:8  Gileádští starší Jiftáchovi řekli: „Právě proto se teď obracíme na tebe, abys šel s námi a bojoval proti Amónovcům a byl náčelníkem nás, všech obyvatel Gileádu.“

11:8  I řekli starší Galádští k Jefte: Proto jsme se nyní navrátili k tobě, abys šel s námi a bojoval proti Ammonitským, a byl nám všechněm obyvatelům Galádským za vůdce.

11:8  And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, Therefore we turn again to thee now, that thou mayest go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.

11:8  The elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, "Therefore we have turned again to you now, that you may go with us, and fight with the children of Ammon; and you shall be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead."

11:8  And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, Therefore we turn again to you now, that you may go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.

11:8  Dixeruntque principes Galaad ad Jephte : Ob hanc igitur causam nunc ad te venimus, ut proficiscaris nobiscum, et pugnes contra filios Ammon, sisque dux omnium qui habitant in Galaad.

11:9  Jephte also said to them: If you be come to me sincerely, that I should fight for you against the children of Ammon, and the Lord shall deliver them into my hand, shall I be your prince?

11:9  And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, If ye bring me home again to fight against the children of Ammon, and the Lord deliver them before me, shall I be your head?

11:9  Jiftách gileádským starším odpověděl: „Jestliže mě pohnete k návratu, abych bojoval proti Amónovcům, a Hospodin mi je vydá, budu vskutku vaším náčelníkem?“

11:9  Jiftach jim odpověděl: „Když se s vámi vrátím, abych bojoval s Amonci, a Hospodin mi je vydá, budu pak opravdu vaším vůdcem?“

11:9  Tu Jiftách gileádským starším řekl: Jestliže mě pohnete k návratu, ⌈abych bojoval⌉ proti synům Amónovým a Hospodin je přede mnou vydá, já budu vaším velitelem.

11:9  Tedy odpověděl Jefte starším Galádským: Poněvadž mne zase uvodíte, abych bojoval proti Ammonitským, když by mi je dal Hospodin v moc, budu-li vám za vůdce?

11:9  And Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, If ye bring me home again to fight against the children of Ammon, and the LORD deliver them before me, shall I be your head?

11:9  Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, "If you bring me home again to fight with the children of Ammon, and the Lord delivers them before me, shall I be your head?"

11:10  They answered him: The Lord, who heareth these things, he himself is mediator and witness that we will do as we have promised.

11:10  And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, The Lord be witness between us, if we do not so according to thy words.

11:10  Gileádští starší se Jiftáchovi zavázali: „Ať Hospodin, který to slyší, je mezi námi svědkem, že všechno uděláme podle tvých slov.“

11:10  „Hospodin je náš svědek!“ řekli mu gileádští stařešinové, „Uděláme přesně, co říkáš.“

11:10  And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, The LORD be a witness between us, if we do not so according to thy words.

11:11  Jephte therefore went with the princes of Galaad, and all the people made him their prince. And Jephte spoke all his words before the Lord in Maspha.

11:11  Jiftách tedy šel s gileádskými staršími a lid si jej ustanovil za náčelníka a vůdce. Jiftách pak přednesl celou svou záležitost před Hospodinem v Mispě.

11:11  Jiftach tedy šel s nimi a lid si ho ustanovil za vůdce a velitele. Všechny své podmínky pak zopakoval před Hospodinem v Micpě.

11:11  Jiftách tedy šel s gileádskými staršími a lid jej ustanovil nad sebou za předáka a za vůdce. Jiftách přednesl všechna svá slova před Hospodinem v Mispě.

11:11  A tak šel Jefte s staršími Galádskými, a představil jej sobě lid za vůdci a kníže, a mluvil Jefte všecka slova svá před Hospodinem v Masfa.

11:11  Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and captain over them: and Jephthah uttered all his words before the LORD in Mizpeh.

11:12  Potom vyslal Jiftách posly ke králi Amónovců se vzkazem: „Co máš proti mně, že jsi na mě přitáhl, abys bojoval proti mé zemi?“

11:12  Potom Jiftach vyslal k amonskému králi posly se zprávou: „Co proti mně máš, že jsi přitáhl napadnout mou zem?“

11:12  Potom poslal Jiftách posly ke králi synů Amónových se slovy: ⌈Co proti mně máš,⌉ že jsi ke mně přitáhl, abys vedl válku proti mé zemí?

11:12  Potom poslal Jefte posly k králi Ammonitskému s tímto poručením: Co máš ke mně, že jsi vytáhl na mne, abys bojoval proti zemi mé?

11:12  And Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the children of Ammon, saying, What hast thou to do with me, that thou hast come against me to fight in my land?

11:13  And he answered them: Because Israel took away my land, when he came up out of Egypt, from the confines of the Arnon unto the Jaboc and the Jordan: now, therefore, restore the same peaceably to me.

11:13  And the king of the children of Ammon answered unto the messengers of Jephthah, Because Israel took away my land, when they came up out of Egypt, from Arnon even unto Jabbok, and unto Jordan: now therefore restore those lands again peaceably.

11:13  Král Amónovců Jiftáchovým poslům odpověděl: „Izrael přece při svém tažení z Egypta zabral mou zemi od Arnónu až k Jaboku, ba až k Jordánu. Vydej ji nyní po dobrém.“

11:13  Amonský král jim odpověděl: „To, že Izrael na cestě z Egypta zabral mou zem od Arnonu k Jaboku až po Jordán. Teď ji vrať po dobrém!“

11:13  And the king of the children of Ammon answered to the messengers of Jephthah, Because Israel took away my land, when they came out of Egypt, from Arnon even to Jabbok, and to Jordan: now therefore restore those [lands] again peaceably.

11:13  The king of the children of Ammon answered to the messengers of Jephthah, "Because Israel took away my land, when he came up out of Egypt, from the Arnon even to the Jabbok, and to the Jordan. Now therefore restore it peaceably."

11:14  And Jephte again sent word by them, and commanded them to say to the king of Ammon:

11:16  But when they came up out of Egypt, he walked through the desert to the Red Sea, and came into Cades.

11:16  Když táhl Izrael z Egypta, ubíral se pouští k Rákosovému moři, až přišel do Kádeše.

11:17  And he sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying: Suffer me to pass through thy land. But he would not condescend to his request. He sent also to the king of Moab, who, likewise, refused to give him passage. He abode, therefore, in Cades,

11:17  Then Israel sent messengers unto the king of Edom, saying, Let me, I pray thee, pass through thy land: but the king of Edom would not hearken thereto. And in like manner they sent unto the king of Moab: but he would not consent: and Israel abode in Kadesh.

11:17  Tenkrát vyslal Izrael posly k edómskému králi se žádostí: ‚Dovol, abych prošel tvou zemí‘, ale edómský král nechtěl ani slyšet. Poslal také k moábskému králi, ale ani on nesvolil. Proto zůstal Izrael v Kádeši.

11:17  Odkudž poslal Izrael posly k králi Edomskému, řka: Prosím, nechť projdu skrze zemi tvou. A nechtěl ho slyšeti král Edomský. Poslal také k králi Moábskému, a nechtěl povoliti. A tak zůstal Izrael v Kádes.

11:17  Then Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, Let me, I pray thee, pass through thy land: but the king of Edom would not hearken [to it]. And in like manner they sent to the king of Moab; but he would not [consent]. And Israel abode in Kadesh.

11:17  then Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, 'Please let me pass through your land.' But the king of Edom did not listen. In the same way, he sent to the king of Moab; but he would not. So Israel stayed in Kadesh.

11:17  Then Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, Let me, I pray you, pass through your land: but the king of Edom would not listen thereto. And in like manner they sent to the king of Moab: but he would not consent: and Israel stayed in Kadesh.

11:18  Potom se vydali na cestu pouští. Vyhnuli se edomské i moábské zemi, obešli moábskou zem z východu a utábořili se na druhé straně potoka Arnon, aby nevstoupili na moábské území – Arnon totiž tvořil moábskou hranici.

11:18  Šel pustinou, obešel edómskou zemi a moábskou zemi a přišel k moábské zemi od východu slunce. Utábořili se na druhé straně Arnónu. Nevstoupili na moábské území, protože Arnón je hranicí Moábu.

11:36  „Otče můj,“ řekla mu ona, „ty jsi dal slovo Hospodinu? Udělej se mnou, co jsi slíbil – Hospodin ti přece dopřál pomstu nad tvými nepřáteli Amonci.“

11:36  Nato mu řekla: Můj otče, zavázal ses Hospodinu svými ústy. Nalož se mnou podle toho, co vyšlo z tvých úst, poté, co za tebe Hospodin vykonal pomstu nad tvými nepřáteli ze synů Amónových.

11:36  Jemuž ona odpověděla: Můj otče, jestliže jsi tak řekl Hospodinu, učiň mi podlé toho, jakžs mluvil; kdyžť jen dal Hospodin pomstu nad nepřátely tvými, Ammonitskými.

11:36  And she said to him, My father, [if] thou hast opened thy mouth to the LORD, do to me according to that which hath proceeded out of thy mouth; forasmuch as the LORD hath taken vengeance for thee of thy enemies, [even] of the children of Ammon.

11:36  She said to him, "My father, since you have given your word to the Lord; do to me as you promised, because the Lord has taken vengeance for you on your enemies, even on the children of Ammon."

11:36  And she said to him, My father, if you have opened your mouth to the LORD, do to me according to that which has proceeded out of your mouth; for as much as the LORD has taken vengeance for you of your enemies, even of the children of Ammon.
