Chapter 8
Roma DRC 8:1  There is now therefore no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh.
Roma KJV 8:1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Roma DRC 8:2  For the law of the spirit of life, in Christ Jesus, hath delivered me from the law of sin and of death.
Roma VulgClem 8:2  Lex enim spiritus vitæ in Christo Jesu liberavit me a lege peccati et mortis.
Roma KJV 8:2  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Roma DRC 8:3  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and of sin, hath condemned sin in the flesh.
Roma VulgClem 8:3  Nam quod impossibile erat legi, in quo infirmabatur per carnem : Deus Filium suum mittens in similitudinem carnis peccati et de peccato, damnavit peccatum in carne,
Roma KJV 8:3  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Roma DRC 8:4  That the justification of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the spirit.
Roma KJV 8:4  That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Roma DRC 8:5  For they that are according to the flesh mind the things that are of the flesh: but they that are according to the spirit mind the things that are of the spirit.
Roma KJV 8:5  For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
Roma DRC 8:6  For the wisdom of the flesh is death: but the wisdom of the spirit is life and peace.
Roma KJV 8:6  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Roma DRC 8:7  Because the wisdom of the flesh is an enemy to God. For it is not subject to the law of God: neither can it be.
Roma KJV 8:7  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
Roma DRC 8:8  And they who are in the flesh cannot please God.
Roma KJV 8:8  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Roma DRC 8:9  But you are not in the flesh, but the spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Roma KJV 8:9  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Roma DRC 8:10  And if Christ be in you, the body indeed is dead, because of sin: but the spirit liveth, because of justification.
Roma KJV 8:10  And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
Roma DRC 8:11  And if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you; he that raised up Jesus Christ, from the dead shall quicken also your mortal bodies, because of his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Roma VulgClem 8:11  Quod si Spiritus ejus, qui suscitavit Jesum a mortuis, habitat in vobis : qui suscitavit Jesum Christum a mortuis, vivificabit et mortalia corpora vestra, propter inhabitantem Spiritum ejus in vobis.
Roma KJV 8:11  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Roma DRC 8:12  Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh to live according to the flesh.
Roma KJV 8:12  Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
Roma DRC 8:13  For if you live according to the flesh, you shall die: but if by the Spirit you mortify the deeds of the flesh, you shall live.
Roma KJV 8:13  For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Roma DRC 8:14  For whosoever are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Roma KJV 8:14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Roma DRC 8:15  For you have not received the spirit of bondage again in fear: but you have received the spirit of adoption of sons, whereby we cry: Abba (Father).
Roma VulgClem 8:15  Non enim accepistis spiritum servitutis iterum in timore, sed accepistis spiritum adoptionis filiorum, in quo clamamus : Abba (Pater).
Roma KJV 8:15  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Roma DRC 8:16  For the Spirit himself giveth testimony to our spirit that we are the sons of God.
Roma KJV 8:16  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Roma DRC 8:17  And if sons, heirs also; heirs indeed of God and joint heirs with Christ: yet so, if we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified with him.
Roma KJV 8:17  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Roma DRC 8:18  For I reckon that the sufferings of this time are not worthy to be compared with the glory to come that shall be revealed in us.
Roma KJV 8:18  For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Roma DRC 8:19  For the expectation of the creature waiteth for the revelation of the sons of God.
Roma VulgClem 8:19  Nam exspectatio creaturæ revelationem filiorum Dei exspectat.
Roma KJV 8:19  For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
Roma DRC 8:20  For the creature was made subject to vanity: not willingly, but by reason of him that made it subject, in hope.
Roma KJV 8:20  For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
Roma DRC 8:21  Because the creature also itself shall be delivered from the servitude of corruption, into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.
Roma VulgClem 8:21  quia et ipsa creatura liberabitur a servitute corruptionis in libertatem gloriæ filiorum Dei.
Roma KJV 8:21  Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
Roma DRC 8:22  For we know that every creature groaneth and travaileth in pain, even till now.
Roma KJV 8:22  For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
Roma DRC 8:23  And not only it, but ourselves also, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit: even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption of the sons of God, the redemption of our body.
Roma KJV 8:23  And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
Roma DRC 8:24  For we are saved by hope. But hope that is seen is not hope. For what a man seeth, why doth he hope for?
Roma KJV 8:24  For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
Roma DRC 8:25  But if we hope for that which we see not, we wait for it with patience.
Roma KJV 8:25  But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
Roma DRC 8:26  Likewise, the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity. For, we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit himself asketh for us with unspeakable groanings,
Roma KJV 8:26  Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Roma DRC 8:27  And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what the Spirit desireth: because he asketh for the saints according to God.
Roma VulgClem 8:27  Qui autem scrutatur corda, scit quid desideret Spiritus : quia secundum Deum postulat pro sanctis.
Roma KJV 8:27  And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Roma DRC 8:28  And we know that to them that love God all things work together unto good: to such as, according to his purpose, are called to be saints.
Roma KJV 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Roma DRC 8:29  For whom he foreknew, he also predestinated to be made conformable to the image of his Son: that he might be the Firstborn amongst many brethren.
Roma KJV 8:29  For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Roma DRC 8:30  And whom he predestinated, them he also called. And whom he called, them he also justified. And whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Roma KJV 8:30  Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Roma DRC 8:31  What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who is against us?
Roma KJV 8:31  What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Roma DRC 8:32  He that spared not even his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how hath he not also, with him, given us all things?
Roma KJV 8:32  He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Roma DRC 8:33  Who shall accuse against the elect of God? God is he that justifieth:
Roma VulgClem 8:33  Quis accusabit adversus electos Dei ? Deus qui justificat,
Roma KJV 8:33  Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.
Roma DRC 8:34  Who is he that shall condemn? Christ Jesus that died: yea that is risen also again, who is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Roma KJV 8:34  Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Roma DRC 8:35  Who then shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation? Or distress? Or famine? Or nakedness? Or danger? Or persecution? Or the sword?
Roma VulgClem 8:35  Quis ergo nos separabit a caritate Christi ? tribulatio ? an angustia ? an fames ? an nuditas ? an periculum ? an persecutio ? an gladius ?
Roma KJV 8:35  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Roma DRC 8:36  (As it is written: For thy sake, we are put to death all the day long. We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.)
Roma VulgClem 8:36  (Sicut scriptum est : Quia propter te mortificamur tota die : æstimati sumus sicut oves occisionis.)
Roma KJV 8:36  As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Roma DRC 8:37  But in all these things we overcome, because of him that hath loved us.
Roma VulgClem 8:37  Sed in his omnibus superamus propter eum qui dilexit nos.
Roma KJV 8:37  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Roma DRC 8:38  For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor might,
Roma KJV 8:38  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Roma DRC 8:39  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Roma KJV 8:39  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
