Chapter 19
Levi DRC 19:1  The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
Levi KJV 19:1  And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
Levi VulgClem 19:1  Locutus est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens :
Levi DRC 19:2  Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel. And thou shalt say to them: Be ye holy, because I the Lord your God am holy.
Levi KJV 19:2  Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the Lord your God am holy.
Levi VulgClem 19:2  Loquere ad omnem cœtum filiorum Israël, et dices ad eos : Sancti estote, quia ego sanctus sum, Dominus Deus vester.
Levi DRC 19:3  Let every one fear his father, and his mother. Keep my sabbaths. I am the Lord your God.
Levi KJV 19:3  Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am the Lord your God.
Levi VulgClem 19:3  Unusquisque patrem suum, et matrem suam timeat. Sabbata mea custodite. Ego Dominus Deus vester.
Levi DRC 19:4  Turn ye not to idols: nor make to yourselves molten gods. I am the Lord your God.
Levi KJV 19:4  Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the Lord your God.
Levi VulgClem 19:4  Nolite converti ad idola, nec deos conflatiles faciatis vobis. Ego Dominus Deus vester.
Levi DRC 19:5  If ye offer in sacrifice a peace offering to the Lord, that he may be favourable:
Levi KJV 19:5  And if ye offer a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the Lord, ye shall offer it at your own will.
Levi VulgClem 19:5  Si immolaveritis hostiam pacificorum Domino, ut sit placabilis,
Levi DRC 19:6  You shall eat it on the same day it was offered, and the next day. And whatsoever shall be left until the third day, you shall burn with fire.
Levi KJV 19:6  It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow: and if ought remain until the third day, it shall be burnt in the fire.
Levi VulgClem 19:6  eo die quo fuerit immolata, comedetis eam, et die altero : quidquid autem residuum fuerit in diem tertium, igne comburetis.
Levi DRC 19:7  If after two days any man eat thereof, he shall be profane and guilty of impiety:
Levi KJV 19:7  And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted.
Levi VulgClem 19:7  Si quis post biduum comederit ex ea, profanus erit, et impietatis reus :
Levi DRC 19:8  And shall bear his iniquity, because he hath defiled the holy thing of the Lord. And that soul shall perish from among his people.
Levi KJV 19:8  Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the hallowed thing of the Lord: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
Levi VulgClem 19:8  portabitque iniquitatem suam, quia sanctum Domini polluit, et peribit anima illa de populo suo.
Levi DRC 19:9  When thou reapest the corn of thy land, thou shalt not cut down all that is on the face of the earth to the very ground: nor shalt thou gather the ears that remain.
Levi KJV 19:9  And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest.
Levi VulgClem 19:9  Cumque messueris segetes terræ tuæ, non tondebis usque ad solum superficiem terræ, nec remanentes spicas colliges,
Levi DRC 19:10  Neither shalt thou gather the bunches and grapes that fall down in thy vineyard: but shalt leave them to the poor and the strangers to take. I am the Lord your God.
Levi KJV 19:10  And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the Lord your God.
Levi VulgClem 19:10  neque in vinea tua racemos et grana decidentia congregabis : sed pauperibus et peregrinis carpenda dimittes. Ego Dominus Deus vester.
Levi DRC 19:11  You shall not steal. You shall not lie: neither shall any man deceive his neighbour.
Levi KJV 19:11  Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.
Levi VulgClem 19:11  Non facietis furtum. Non mentiemini, nec decipiet unusquisque proximum suum.
Levi DRC 19:12  Thou shalt not swear falsely by my name, nor profane the name of thy God. I am the Lord.
Levi KJV 19:12  And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the Lord.
Levi VulgClem 19:12  Non perjurabis in nomine meo, nec pollues nomen Dei tui. Ego Dominus.
Levi DRC 19:13  Thou shalt not calumniate thy neighbour, nor oppress him by violence. The wages of him that hath been hired by thee shall not abide with thee until the morning.
Levi KJV 19:13  Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.
Levi VulgClem 19:13  Non facies calumniam proximo tuo nec vi opprimes eum. Non morabitur opus mercenarii tui apud te usque mane.
Levi DRC 19:14  Thou shalt not speak evil of the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind: but thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, because I am the Lord.
Levi KJV 19:14  Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the Lord.
Levi VulgClem 19:14  Non maledices surdo, nec coram cæco pones offendiculum : sed timebis Dominum Deum tuum, quia ego sum Dominus.
Levi DRC 19:15  Thou shalt not do that which is unjust, nor judge unjustly. Respect not the person of the poor: nor honour the countenance of the mighty. But judge thy neighbour according to justice.
Levi KJV 19:15  Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
Levi VulgClem 19:15  Non facies quod iniquum est, nec injuste judicabis. Non consideres personam pauperis, nec honores vultum potentis. Juste judica proximo tuo.
Levi DRC 19:16  Thou shalt not be a detractor nor a whisperer among the people. Thou shalt not stand against the blood of thy neighbour. I am the Lord.
Levi KJV 19:16  Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the Lord.
Levi VulgClem 19:16  Non eris criminator, nec susurro in populo. Non stabis contra sanguinem proximi tui. Ego Dominus.
Levi DRC 19:17  Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thy heart: But reprove him openly, lest thou incur sin through him.
Levi KJV 19:17  Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
Levi VulgClem 19:17  Non oderis fratrem tuum in corde tuo, sed publice argue eum, ne habeas super illo peccatum.
Levi DRC 19:18  Seek not revenge, nor be mindful of the injury of thy citizens. Thou shalt love thy friend as thyself. I am the Lord.
Levi KJV 19:18  Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord.
Levi VulgClem 19:18  Non quæras ultionem, nec memor eris injuriæ civium tuorum. Diliges amicum tuum sicut teipsum. Ego Dominus.
Levi DRC 19:19  Keep ye my laws. Thou shalt not make thy cattle to gender with beasts of any other kind. Thou shalt not sow thy field with different seeds. Thou shalt not wear a garment that is woven of two sorts.
Levi KJV 19:19  Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.
Levi VulgClem 19:19  Leges meas custodite. Jumentum tuum non facies coire cum alterius generis animantibus. Agrum tuum non seres diverso semine. Veste, quæ ex duobus texta est, non indueris.
Levi DRC 19:20  If a man carnally lie with a woman that is a bondservant and marriageable, and yet not redeemed with a price, nor made free: they both shall be scourged: and they shall not be put to death, because she was not a free woman.
Levi KJV 19:20  And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.
Levi VulgClem 19:20  Homo, si dormierit cum muliere coitu seminis, quæ sit ancilla etiam nubilis, et tamen pretio non redempta, nec libertate donata : vapulabunt ambo, et non morientur, quia non fuit libera.
Levi DRC 19:21  And for his trespass he shall offer a ram to the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony.
Levi KJV 19:21  And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the Lord, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering.
Levi VulgClem 19:21  Pro delicto autem suo offeret Domino ad ostium tabernaculi testimonii arietem :
Levi DRC 19:22  And the priest shall pray for him: and for his sin before the Lord: and he shall have mercy on him, and the sin shall be forgiven.
Levi KJV 19:22  And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the Lord for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.
Levi VulgClem 19:22  orabitque pro eo sacerdos, et pro peccato ejus coram Domino, et repropitiabitur ei, dimitteturque peccatum.
Levi DRC 19:23  When you shall be come into the land, and shall have planted in it fruit trees, you shall take away the firstfruits of them. The fruit that comes forth shall be unclean to you: neither shall you eat of them.
Levi KJV 19:23  And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall it be as uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of.
Levi VulgClem 19:23  Quando ingressi fueritis terram, et plantaveritis in ea ligna pomifera, auferetis præputia eorum : poma, quæ germinant, immunda erunt vobis, nec edetis ex eis.
Levi DRC 19:24  But in the fourth year, all their fruit shall be sanctified, to the praise of the Lord.
Levi KJV 19:24  But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy to praise the Lord withal.
Levi VulgClem 19:24  Quarto autem anno omnis fructus eorum sanctificabitur, laudabilis Domino.
Levi DRC 19:25  And in the fifth year you shall eat the fruits thereof, gathering the increase thereof. I am the Lord your God.
Levi KJV 19:25  And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am the Lord your God.
Levi VulgClem 19:25  Quinto autem anno comedetis fructus, congregantes poma, quæ proferunt. Ego Dominus Deus vester.
Levi DRC 19:26  You shall not eat with blood. You shall not divine nor observe dreams.
Levi KJV 19:26  Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.
Levi VulgClem 19:26  Non comedetis cum sanguine. Non augurabimini, nec observabitis somnia.
Levi DRC 19:27  Nor shall you cut your hair roundwise: nor shave your beard.
Levi KJV 19:27  Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.
Levi VulgClem 19:27  Neque in rotundum attondebitis comam, nec radetis barbam.
Levi DRC 19:28  You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh, for the dead: neither shall you make in yourselves any figures or marks. I am the Lord.
Levi KJV 19:28  Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.
Levi VulgClem 19:28  Et super mortuo non incidetis carnem vestram, neque figuras aliquas aut stigmata facietis vobis. Ego Dominus.
Levi DRC 19:29  Make not thy daughter a common strumpet, lest the land be defiled, and filled with wickedness.
Levi KJV 19:29  Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.
Levi VulgClem 19:29  Ne prostituas filiam tuam, ne contaminetur terra et impleatur piaculo.
Levi DRC 19:30  Keep ye my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary. I am the Lord.
Levi KJV 19:30  Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord.
Levi VulgClem 19:30  Sabbata mea custodite, et sanctuarium meum metuite. Ego Dominus.
Levi DRC 19:31  Go not aside after wizards: neither ask any thing of soothsayers, to be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God.
Levi KJV 19:31  Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.
Levi VulgClem 19:31  Non declinetis ad magos, nec ab ariolis aliquid sciscitemini, ut polluamini per eos. Ego Dominus Deus vester.
Levi DRC 19:32  Rise up before the hoary head, and honour the person of the aged man: and fear the Lord thy God. I am the Lord.
Levi KJV 19:32  Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the Lord.
Levi VulgClem 19:32  Coram cano capite consurge, et honora personam senis : et time Dominum Deum tuum. Ego sum Dominus.
Levi DRC 19:33  If a stranger dwell in your land, and abide among you, do not upbraid hin:
Levi KJV 19:33  And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.
Levi VulgClem 19:33  Si habitaverit advena in terra vestra, et moratus fuerit inter vos, non exprobretis ei :
Levi DRC 19:34  But let him be among you as one of the same country. And you shall love him as yourselves: for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.
Levi KJV 19:34  But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
Levi VulgClem 19:34  sed sit inter vos quasi indigena, et diligetis eum quasi vosmetipsos : fuistis enim et vos advenæ in terra Ægypti. Ego Dominus Deus vester.
Levi DRC 19:35  Do not any unjust thing in judgment, in rule, in weight, or in measure.
Levi KJV 19:35  Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.
Levi VulgClem 19:35  Nolite facere iniquum aliquid in judicio, in regula, in pondere, in mensura.
Levi DRC 19:36  Let the balance be just and the weights equal, the bushel just, and the sextary equal. I am the Lord your God, that brought you out of the land of Egypt.
Levi KJV 19:36  Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt.
Levi VulgClem 19:36  Statera justa, et æqua sint pondera, justus modius, æquusque sextarius. Ego Dominus Deus vester, qui eduxi vos de terra Ægypti.
Levi DRC 19:37  Keep all my precepts, and all my judgments: and do them. I am the Lord.
Levi KJV 19:37  Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am the Lord.
Levi VulgClem 19:37  Custodite omnia præcepta mea, et universa judicia, et facite ea. Ego Dominus.
